Quick nitpick but I thought Sally was Ben's sister, not the GM's?

"I wander off into the desert"
This is the best possible character epilogue after finishing a campaign, as far as I'm concerned.

I wholeheartedly agree.

It is how the second dune book ends. I think, cannonically, the character who did that got eaten by a sandworm.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Nope- see book 3 in the Dune series for details.

I thought she was the GM's sister. I might be wrong though.

Nope, she isn't.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
This scene in the film, where Beru and Lars look into the sunset together and the original theme music plays, actually brought tears to my eyes. One of the two scenes in the entire prequel trilogy that meant a damn to me. See if you can work out which was the other scene....

Is it one that was later dubbed over with a BIG NO?

Out of this entire series, i think this comic is my favorite. "there arent enough dice in the world."

There isn't one in D&D that I'm aware of but it does exist in Shadowrun.

I'd assume no one is even aware of it but The Dark Eye has at least the Debt (optional amount) disadvantage... you can pick your backstory for it, of course.

Die Schwarze Auge!
Yes, I'm aware of it. I knew a German guy who really hated it so much he insisted on apologizing for it on behalf of his country.
Since I didn't actually get to play it, however, I don't know how justified such a depiction was.

Very close. It's the sequence where the mask is slowly lowered onto Vader's face. The helmet is then delicately placed in position and there's that moment of perfect silence before you hear Vader breathe for the first time.
That tingled me in various places. The rest of the prequel trilogy? Shove it.

So in the prequels medichlorians are supposed to be mitochondria and the Force is some kind of aerobic respiration, right?

More or less. I think Lucas was playing some Parasite Eve while he was writing the script for Episode 1.

Well... I think it's slightly more complicated... more like... midochlorians can help you sense and manipualte some weird field like gravity or a magnetic field... eeexcept when you shoot lightning bolts from your fingers.

Das :smallwink: German is tricky that way.
Hm... I'm only familiar with the rather new 4.1 edition of the system which id good if you don't mind poor battle mechanics (well, not that poor but... not really fun) and like good roleplaying options and magic that's not just "I am a mage. I blow off your head." Ot's not really battle oriented, or it is inferior to D&D when it comes to battle mechanics but I play it for the sake of plot and interaction and 4.1 is nice when it comes to this, imo.

More like Lucas was tired and drunk when writing the explanation for the Force and somehow got this: "No, it can't be religious! Or Magic! It's got to be scienc...ah, screw it ! This is good enough..."

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Ah, Lucas, you silly delusional man...

From way back in Comic #41:
Quote:
GM: No, you guys have been great for my improvisation. I've learnt not to plan ahead more than ten minutes.
O RLY, Lucas?
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Well, he was apply to come up through the use of his notes and the players' actions a campaign that was still fun. That's not bad use of improvisation.

The GM of Darths & Droids is an amazing GM. This has never been in question.
The whole point is that he's the opposite of the GM from DM of the Rings.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
I was more questioning the 'never plan ahead more than ten minutes' bit in contrast to the '14-page detailed adventure '.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
I am guessing the plan went off the rails almost intentionally this time, as he and Annie seem to have been coordinating from almost as soon as she came back into the game. Or at least since Anakin whacked Dooku.
He still would have rather done the Naboo stuff though, I'm sure.

I took it as his outline for the story at the start of the campaign. He needed those details in order to make the story work. Each time they went off the rails, he would have his back story handy to work with to find a way to make the events happen anyways.
