Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
I'm still showing the placeholder for today. Do I need to clear my cache?

Me too, actually.

Well I do now.
And I too, still see the placeholder.

What do you mean?
Also placeholder.

Questionable Content #500 had the ten-strip mini-arc named "The Talk" which changed everything FOREVER. And Jeph wrote that he had nothing special planned for strip 500, so yeah.

On Monday, Faye asked Marten if he liked her. this is the couple that met in, like, page 3, in a comic that is infamous for taking the most time ever to progress the plot (although I admit it's getting lots better recently), so provided that it was kind of the biggest step ever in the comic...
If Jukashi is ironic like that, what can we expect?

Depends. If you like QC right now, then the answer is probably yes. If you wish they'd go back to having all indie jokes all the time, then probably no.

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
Don't read it. I have at least 70 comics, but QC isn't one. XD

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
Placeholder, ditto.
And for those wanting to read up on an Exalted PbP campaign here on the site, I suggest "God-kings of Lotus"...

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
It would be both infuriating and awesome if the placeholder actually was the update today.
Truly, nothing much to say about it.

And then friday they're talking about how world shaking the events that just finished were, and how anyone who didn't see them is a total loser.

"We defeated all the Yozis, healed the Underworld and cured Autochthon's sickness at the culmination of a 25-hour long rock concert.
Off-screen.
And it was glorious."

"I really can't decide if I liked Secret's redemption, Misho's duel with the Lion or the pillowfight between Marena and Luna in their underwear the best."

"Oh, and Ten's secret totally blew my mind, man. I mean, no one could figure it out without it being told them."
-
Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
I would hunt Jukashi down and egg him if he didn't include at least the rock concert.:smallfurious:

Don't be silly.
EASILY the last one wins.
...also, Luna as in the deity? :smallconfused:

Yes.
I don't know any other Luna, at least :smalltongue:

Nope, Luna Lovegood. :smalltongue:
Yes, preferably in her maiden form.

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
Quite frankly, the best part was Secret's redemption and the tearful reunion with Marena as their bond is restored. Added a great deal of depth to both of them.
-
Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
Nah, the BEST bit was easily when Marena used Abyssal Necromancy to resurrect the fallen Solars, and Secret used Solar Sorcery to return their Exaltations. Most heartlifting sequence ever-and the resulting FIGHT scene! Blew my mind.

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
For people who have trouble with Exalted character creation, you might want to try either Anathema (if you're sticking to Solars or DBs) or Ed's Toolkits for Exalted (if you're not.) They make it a lot easier to mess around and experiment, and I think they helped me figure out the system some (I'd say "Why did my points change like that?" and look it up in the book.)
In my experience, Anathema is a bit more useable but Ed's toolkit has more options - I'd recommend starting with Anathema and then getting Ed's Toolkit once you're more familiar with the process.
-
Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
Hmmm. I should do a Exalted Choose Your Own Adventure.
-
Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
"Hey, those aren't pillows!"
The thing that bugs me about Anathema is that it updates derived values when you change things one way, but doesn't un-update when you change them back. I drove myself insane figuring out why every time I tinkered with virtues I wound up with "ghost" bonus points, when what was happening was every time I tweaked a virtue it boosted my will power... :smallfurious:
Also, needs an in editor charm addition tool.

Yeah, that was a bit confusing, but I liked the easy-to-read charm flowcharts and other formatting much better than Ed's Toolkit's lists of lists. I think it makes it easier to consider all my options and see what I need to get what I want.

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
It should also be noted that the game is undergoing massive errata right now. Solar char gen has been changed fundamentally, for example, and the Sidereal book is about to receive what will amount to a new charm set from scratch.
Also a whole lot of new charms have been added. Check out the Scroll of Errata (although there is some problems with it right now; there is a newer version that failed to get posted here, I think it will come shortly) and the Ink Monkeys blog for additional information.
-
Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
Oh, fun, more errata. Were they worried that enough people had finally figured out how everything works to play a complete game without spending more time online than with the dice?

Exalted: if you can play it and have fun in the process, you're doing it wrong / it needs errata. :smalltongue:

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
I'm happy they change the game for the better (because I really think they do), but damn it, they just need to put out a 2.5 edition soon. All the cross-referencing is making me hesitant to even read the new stuff.
Luckily there are many total rewrites.

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
Or rather, 3rd Edition. Because Storyteller is standing on the flimsiest of grounds. In fact, the grounds it stands on is so flimsy outer space would be more solid.
