Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Meanwhile, another shadowy corner has become a brightly lit corner, as the demon sitting there has been feeding on the shadows.

Oscar Urimbauer wonders how bad things are with That Day and whether it would be good or bad for Cuthan and his kind.

Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Lisor smiles, reminded of home. "I was given a puppy once, from one of my father's friends. ran away when it got out the door though, and I never found out what happened to the little wolf, but i learned that I can't let them outside on their own."
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Aw. That's kinda sad. I didn't have my own wolf when I was little; they were kept for the army or wealthy civilians. Besides, they were kept in pens above ground anyway. I did have my own molerat, though.

Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Wait there are shadows who eat the deamons. Andy is still in the room and wonders how what is going on.
"OK! What is going on in here? even this is strange for this place."
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Oscar is a demon of light, who eats the shadows. He glows a little, and looks more like an angel than a demon.
He shrugs at Andy's questions. "I don't know what's going on."
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Lisor nods, getting back up onto the stool ash she finishes petting Viima, "Molerats need more love. You never see humans liking them. Only those disgusting little things they call cats." Lisors brow furrows. Eww. Cats.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Dipsnig nods. Yeah. They do seem to love cats. Humans are strange, honestly. They all flinch when they see me eat rats or bats, for instance.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Lisor's brow furrows, "What? Really? They don't eat rats and bats?"
-

Good thing Fade isn't here right now.
"Well there was just a shadow over there and now it's bright."

Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
It didn't happen suddenly, like turning on a switch. It was gradual, like the sky growing lighter as the sun rises.
"Oh, is my skin glowing again?" Oscar says, he looks at his hands and concentrates, and he stops glowing.

Dipsnig shakes his head. They don't. Strange, isn't it? I have no idea why.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
"Then what do they eat for meat? The white fluffy animals?" she is, of course, referring to sheep.
-

Well Andy just noticed that he had glow.
"Are you some kind of angel or such? I mean you really look like one."
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
"A messenger from a god? No, I'm not." Oscar says. "Are you from a comic book?"
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Apparently, yes. And pigs and cows and birds they call chickens. They aren't bad to eat, actually. Chickens are a little too soft, but pigs are good. Dipsnig has eaten some human food in his life.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
"Pig... I think I've had some before. They call it pork when it's in meat form, right? I had some pork chops when my feet got regrown."
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Dipsnig taps his fang. Yes, I think they do. He blinks as what Lisor said hits him. They got your feet regrown?
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Lisor nods and takes off her foot coverings, showing where her feet had a much lighter tissue color - all but her large toe on the right foot, and all the toes plus several extremely large chunks from her actual foot re that lighter color. "see the difference? the lighter parts are what got grown back. they got cut up when we were escaping from the slavers." Lisor shudders, remembering the pain.

"Comic book? No not really I don't know where you got such an idea from?"
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Dipsnig frowns. The bastards. I'm glad to see GLoG helped you, though.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Lisor nods, "Me too. I don't think I'd ever have walked again if they hadn't healed me."
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Dipsnig shakes his head. The magicians here are really crazy. They do things noone would even imagine back home.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
"Yeah. Plus, there's really strange people here, not just magicians. I mean, yo know paladins, right? Well Shrike, a woman who's teaching me how to fight, is some kind of godly warrior, but seems just as bent on curtains as doing the right thing."
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Dipsnig snorts. Paladins back home were different than here but yeah, I've heard of her, her girlfriend and their exploits. She's not a paladin, though, but some brand of godling, I forget which.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
The stinky brand of godling.
But then if you were to ask on Old One like K'rax all godlings are horrible things. They cause all sorts of... complications.
*ahem*
Zee frowns a bit as the dwarf inquires if there's anything else that needs to be done. Probably... But she has lots of memories to sift through. Her cognitive abilities are drastically limited when she's dreaming and now K'rax is doing her best to filter her vast archive of knowledge through the teeny little brain of the finger puppet here at Trog's everyone calls 'Zee'.
Trying so very hard to keep herself in a torpor as long as possible.
"Eerr... I've got one for you. But it'll be really really hard. There's this cat wandering around. A black cat. An all black cat, eyes and everything. You need to get it a saucer of warm cream. Keep offering it to the critter until it drinks."
...that doesn't seem terribly heroic, Zee.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
...
...
...
"Okay."
He ponders where he can find warm cream and a specific cat.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
THAT CAT will be very easy to find when Vampire Rot logs on. The thing belongs to him after all.
Getting the cream can be done right now. One just needs to ask the friendly bar-tender for some help. Gotta have cream after all. Used in several of the bar's mixed drinks!
...
Speaking of the bar tender...
It looks...
Well...
It looks almost as if she's starting to nod off. Started with a bit of a vacant look and its rapidly progressing toward falling asleep on the counter.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
"I'm Garrett. Garrett Everett. I used to go to the school outside of town, the one for powered children, but I've just turned 16, too old to attend any more. I was working for the Order of the Lantern, the knightly order my family's been in for generations, but...well...I got turned by someone very close to me, and I can't help her in this condition," Garrett explains.
He's not doing too badly, y'know?
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Karaglen had been busily engaging in a short amount of introspection, trying to investigate the haze in her mind with a peculiar fervor that she hadn't had before.
Since her prayers, she felt better, braver. Like she should try to brave whatever was hiding in there.
But then Zee starts to nod off.
That sort of ruins her whole little personal moment, as she remembers that she has a job to do.
Can't let Zee fall asleep! Or bad things might happen.
At least...that's what she was told. It might be a dirty ploy to just keep Kara around, so she can watch her, but oh well.
The girl's still gonna do it.
The girl blinks and then proceeds to throw a cracker at Zee's face.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI
Suddenly cracker!
"Eep!" goes the Zee as the not-terribly-sweet pastry bounces off her face. That seems to have worked out well enough. As soon as Zee snaps upright a rather strong tremor ripples through the ground.
Kara is offered a rather sheepish smile. "Uhh, thanks Kara. It's getting harder to concentrate. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to keep this up."
K'rax really doesn't want to start moving around if she can avoid it...
But we'll see how things go.
Then the vampire person says his name!
Oh boy, that makes things much easier.
"Wow! Garrett, huh? This can be fixed very very easily!" she declares in a cheerful tone. "Provided you're okay with being an unusually intelligent living ferret instead of a rotting corpse that's still shambling around."
