Thanks! I'm really happy with what I've learnt about latex prosthetics in the last few months.
Next step is building a tail! =3

Shush, trans superpowers are meant to be a secret. Especially once someone's progressed beyond air dashing and into the good stuff

If my BG3 characters are any indication my goals are already to be a sexy devil lady, just a bit more red.

I really want to say something snarky (like the fact that it's not even enough snow to cover up the ground properly or that it's basically shorts weather), but then again you routinely suffer through (Or enjoy! The madness!) heat I'm quite certain would literally melt me, so I suppose I'll try to avoid breaking my glass house for now.

My brain is still stuck on The Owl House so I did a thing.
I've seen fan comics with a similar premise but they all went about it in a way that seemed off so...

Oh wow, it's not quite enough for England to send out the grit trucks.
Although negative seven is legitimately cold, make sure you have a decent coat! I can manage the depths of winter with committed layering, but the scales also say I should get on one at a time...

Coat? I'm sorry, you think I would go outside?

If you need a "decent coat" at negative seven, you're clearly expected to sleep outside or something.

That's the direction the agency interviews are in?

You don't need anything major, but you want something that'll actually dent the cold. I'm more t talking Canada levels of bundling up, but you need a coat that works.
Unless you're a Geordie :smalltongue:

Imean, real talk for a second, the governor has issued a state of emergency and if be surprised if most of places aren't closed. There's not much to go out for, currently.
Also, the agencies issue coats. :smalltongue:

For negative seven? I mean, I get closing the schools, but a state of emergency? That's surprising, I guess Alamaba really wasn't expecting any snow at all.

But how will you walk to the place where they give you the coat?
Oh yeah, America, cars.

We were expecting snow. Up in Huntsville i hear it got seen inches. Not as much was expected down here in central Alabama, but icy roads are still an issue. We rarely, if ever, get subfreezing temperatures. As such, we don't invest in things like salt trucks to clear the roads, as a quick example, because that doesn't really make much sense - it'd be like Birmingham, England building tornado shelters. Ergo, in the unlikely event we get snow, we just shut down. It's maybe a couple days a decade or so.
ETA: For example, on the "we knew" front.

It's just one of those things where you're so used to your local area's level of preparation that anything else feels silly.
Anyway I'm off to the land of 'I hope I don't get sick while I'm there' later this year.double checked my passport is valid, they I don't need an extra period of validity, and that family's available to host me, now it's just booking flights and arranging visa stuff

Fun! Also, real talk here, look into/talk to someone knowledgeable about travel health insurance. If you get sick over here it probably still won't be too bad (relatively. For the American system). If there's some sort of accident or something that requires hospitalization, or even an ambulance ride? Unless the insurance is twice the price of your entire holiday its probs worth it.

I think there's a way to get the NHS to act as my insurance provider, although that might depend on the country. Honestly the cost of medical care worries me less than the fact I could be in A&E with something serious and have to fill out a form. Like I have no idea if that's actually a thing in the US healthcare system, but they need to get your incurance provider somehow.
(This was much easier when I was doing intra-EU travel, I just picked upn an EHIC and I could get healthcare as if I was a local citizen.)

Maybe just write down all the necessary information ahead of time and keep it on you? Then at least the hypothetical unwell version of you only has to copy it.

I did a quick and dirty googling before posting, and i cant confirm but it seems like nope, your NHS and it's foolishly reasonable pricing ideas won't pay the US system. Obvs you want to do more research than i did and find an actually reliable answer.
Had to Google A&E. It's just called the ER over here, and that's what i was talking about. The forms are nothing to be concerned about. The fees are. If your biggest issue is the forms, recognize your system is a dream.

Naturally I hope this doesn't come up, but as things we hope don't come up are raison d'être here: the ER won't turn anyone with a health emergency away, even those who don't have insurance or ability to pay (as my younger sibling can attest to firsthand) or aren't US citizens. Paperwork issues won't literally kill you, the way bills figuratively can :-P

After a couple failed starts, Celeste and I have finally watched Muppet Treasure Island.
In perhaps my most controversial statement yet when it comes to things like this; I enjoyed my time with it and I think it is a good film but it has been severely built up as like, one of the Best Of All Time, and it just doesn't quite hit that status imo. It's still quite good though!

Certainly not a BOAT film. Just very good, as Muppet films tend to be, and Tim Curry was excellent in it, as Tim Curry tends to be.

It is a Best of All Time film...in that it is probably the best piece of Muppet media, and one of Tim Curry's best performances.
But being the best Muppet film basically just makes it a good movie, not a lifechanging experience.
