Now your opinion has been read and is noted.
But the True ABR is only random kills the original. If you want a Plot, make a fracking backstory or something generic like that. No Plots, I'm glad you enjoy 3 Mains Plots and various Side Plots, but that is not what TABR is about. From the beginning I remember talk about teams, then we said "no teams". Now there is a Plot and now people are saying "no plots" and your saying that is what ABR has become and should just accept it? Hah, I laugh at your feeble, feeble logic.
WARNING! The following spoiler contains very blunt stuff taht borders on a rant! Enter at your own risk!Spoiler

The 'true ABR' was crap. Sorry, everyone, but the art really sucked then. Pretty much everybody, however, has improved because they enjoyed the real ABR so much.
The people who haven't improved are people like Omega, who is still too stuck in the past to improve.

NC's post was twice as long as your own. It was twice as logical as your won, and carried twice as many good points. I laugh at your 'feeble logic'.

Summarized for you omega

In cases where as long as it's still the same basic story and keeps all the best bits and characters intact, then it doesn't matter too much that Bob's bald, Alice doesn't die, the football game was changed to a horse race and they cut the watermelon scene, right? It's a bit of a shame they screwed that bit up, but really, it's not as if the entire work is Ruined FOREVER, right?
Wrong!
...or so you would be told by many, many a fan.

...Whoops. Forgot to make my point clearer.
This vexes me because you're calling it "True". It's not. It's "Old" or "Early" or "Original". The "True" ABR is its current incarnation, having evolved over the years.
My apologies for not making this clearer originally.

We cannot let skum like Omega and Onasuma (no offense) take our plots! Without them, I'd have nothing to do! The ABR plots are pretty much the only things that keep me coming back to the playground forums!
So please, help me fight back. All who have ever made a plot comic, all who have made a backstory for their characters really worked on and thought out, those who have added to the wiki.......
*gets on horse*
They can take our character's lives (in non-canon), but they'll never take it in-canon (Or take our freedom)!
Who's with me?! :furious:
I am totally with you in this, Q!*rises big flag labelled "canon"*.All true defenders of ABR rally under the canon to fight the threat of us all slipping back towards the dark ages!

Quite. Now lets clear somethings up.
Ive spoken to many people from the good old days (not that your lovely new plot isnt good for some of you) who are just finding the plot tedious and would actually being contributing again were there people around to read and respond to their kills and similar.
TABR is not ment to be antagonistic. It is ment to help tie together all those kills and bits that would otherwise be ignored by pretty much everyone. This way there is alot more scope for some people to do the bits the like the most from ABR as a whole, without having to participate with that which they do not.
Also, if you find the name vexing i appologise. It just sounds better than original. It was not ment to make a statement about my belief in the plot (Im sure that that is clear anyway) and if anyone comes up with a better one, I wont object to changing it.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
Now, see, that's a lot more reasonable than Omega's approach.
You do realize that people do still post non-canon random kills sometimes, right?
-
Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
Is the situation defused now ? Because it was almost like a flame war a couple of posts ago...

It certainly is.
Onasuma, I'm sorry that in my original post I treated you like someone spewing vitriol at the plot like something out of Little Britain. I misinterpreted you and lumped you together with Omega. Again, I am sorry.
On to names, then. How about "Classic"? Or maybe "Traditional"? Hey, with the latter you get to keep your new acronym!
-
Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
And if you don't have a snappy acronym, you don't have anything.:smallwink:
Case in point: Plot 3.
Case against point (:smalltongue:): SDSB

This.
Why are people acting like they aren't allowed to draw random kills anymore?
Besides, the plot's allot more interesting (Imo) then just random kills, if you don't want to join the plot then power to you. Just do it without attempting to start a flame war. :smalltongue:

That's great, but what they are basically doing is ceasing their canon comics and just doing random kills. In my opinion, they change the name, it's fine by me. They just shouldn't expect me to join.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
I just think it is a bit silly all of this. Personally, I just stopped contributing to ABR because I felt it got boring and I moved on. New plots were created and I could mix in well enough and SDSB eventually slowed down too. Just no reason for me to continue. I do recognise that joining in now is more difficult than it was in the past because of the huge complexity of the plots and that is a pitty, just a little. We shouldn't get angry about it like this, people are not "taking over" or "destroying" ABR, most of this was a slow proces in which most of the old ABR people contributed too to in creating plots.

They can't destroy ABR but they try
-
Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
They should grow up. As one of the "original creators" of SDSB I seriously don't see any harm in plots although I find it a shame that SDSB became suddenly so complex as I prefer simple plots, for the reasons I mentioned.

:smallsigh: Well I guess since you guys feel so strongly about this, I shall reform.

Now THAT was a low blow and I shall tell you why:
It doesn't matter how the art looks, just as long as you have fun. I mean people don't even use MS Paint, but the art looks bad or it cripples their artistic skills. None of that matters; the only thing that matters is that you fun and you are creative.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
So you say, Onasuma, so you say.
Anyway, the way I see it (and I realise that my prolonged months long absence makes me somewhat of a noob), ABR exists between two poles:
- mindless, random killing, godmodding issues, 'i kill you/no u didnt/ya rly'. This, as well as being dissatisfying, doesn't lead to the best art, which is a shame
- The Town with pictures. No disrespect to the Town - I just think we're looking at doing something different here. The existence of over 300 pages, each containing multiple comics, together with over 9000, er 600 pages worth of discussion, together with a wiki, drives off new talent, which is also a shame - we stagnate.
I'm not saying that anyone is recommending either of these - those are just the two extremes. We need to keep all parties onboard in order to make it fun.
That said, I've been looking at the early archives ... brb, I have an idea.

Indeed, I propose that we found should unite under one banner, the banner of The United Factions of ABR. We should have have elections and all so we could choose president.
