Day 1552: Arcar
After watching Fury Road again I was deeply curious if this sketchy technique would work for cars. It does! This is way more organic than my other vehicle sketches.
I accidentally my whole evening though so didn't get as much done as I'd like.

Day 1553: SCREW THE EIGHTIES
SERIOUSLY! It's a cultural VOID! It's a paradox manifestation! It's a deep, diseased, rotting blight on the history of our species! The eighties were the nadir! Worse than the Black Death! Worse than Ghengis Khan! More was lost in the empty, vapid gaping pit of the eighties than in the Sack of Baghdad, the conquest of the Aztecs or in the burning of the Library of Alexandria!
What I'm trying to say is that I watched Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome today.
The first Mad Max movie was boring. The second one, Road Warrior, was good! Like a proto Fury Road, limited by the technology of their time. The third one was... well, like, you know how the first two Mad Max movies were filled with rape and murder and carnage and car chases and Mad Max killing EVERYONE? The third one was a kids movie. It was like Return of the Jedi except Luke gets written out of the story after Jabba's palace so we can follow the adventures of the loveable Ewoks.
Like goddamn. I am legitimately upset. SANDY RAVAGE IS VISIBLY UPSET. Part of that's because the movie suckered me in with a really awesome opening about Barter Town before pulling the Valley of the Ewoks reversal on me with no warning. And then I'm stuck there staring with increasing disbelief as the creepy, maniacal dwarf who runs Bartertown like a sick little tyrant on a power trip transforms into a loveable old man in a suit riding a magical train full of laughing children away to a wondrous land of enchantment.
SCREW THE 1980S.
Anyway they say a picture is worth a thousand words. But I'm too angry to even work on this more. I need to wash this taste out of my mouth somehow. Goddamn it!

Day 1554: Insufficient
Need more practice.

Condolences. Watching Beyond Thunderdome would make anyone hate humanity. :3
I do love me the 80s though... well, the stuff on TV specifically. Back when MTV showed music videos all day long.
It's a good start. I always have trouble in that lower torso area when drawing armor.
The armour was way pre-emptive I think the issue was.
Day 1556: House Logistics
Finally got caught up with some gesture drawings using the new technique. It was great, by far the easiest set of these I've ever done.
More broadly, my hangup right now is that I cannot for the life of me think of compositions. I just sit and stare for ages wondering what I want to do, so these figure drawings are a huge boon and I'll be doing more of them until the mood passes.

Day 1559: Dracul
Ooof. House shopping took a lot out of me. So many things are happening I didn't have the brain for much art.

I've found a strange sort of pleasure walking around other people's homes, which are either empty or staged usually, and deciding if I would like to own this place. Also, do keep in mind that if you gain ownership of a house, there is absolutely nothing stopping you from wallpapering a room with dinosaurs. Nothing.
Also this question.
Ugh, house-shopping. :smallfrown:
I've failed that quest twice and can't afford to do so a third time.
I believe in nothing until contracts are signed.
I will paint my own damn dinosaurs on the walls
I planned my life pretty well, I reckon I got this.
Day 1560: Arkabeum
I'm going AWOL for about a week. Posting is maybe, art is P&P.

Yeah, that means I got it right. This new sketch method has improved my character design a lot I think.
Day 1569: Freaking Out
Just colours. Cuddling dogs ate most of my time tonight.
So I purchased a house. Settlement's in a month.
I'm going to get a new computer. I'm going to get an easel, and real paints. I'm going to get photoshop. I'm going to get a new tablet. I'm going to do a bit of miniatures painting (warmachine I think). I'm going to do art in a room that isn't freezing cold. It's all happening.
Woot woot.

Congrats. Home ownership is awesome. Glad it worked out for you.
Indeed, home ownership is where it's at. I can only hope to get into that too. sure you have to fix it yourself, but it's yours and you can fix it to suit your needs.
Congratulations! I expect your art-powered housemech to be the terror of the badlands within the month.
Thanks everyone. Designing the house's interior decor is going to be a huge art project all on its own and one that's absorbing the majority of my mind and creativity right now.
Day 1570: Kadorin
This is what a 10 minute sketch without a reference looks like these days! Drawing from imagination has never been easier, it's nuts.

Day 1571: Lustria
Spring's here!

Have been doing P&P drawings for the last few days due to bad scheduling and a distracting sense of anticipation. It's like the final month of school before Christmas. It sucks, I should do better.
Day 1575: Stamper
Urgh, every time I resolve to do more my graphics card wheezes again. These damn purple squares.
So close to a new computer. A matter of months now.

Did... did Thanqol just get praised by a spam bot? O.o`
Day 1578: Gammar
Crap. Wasted the day.
Uninstalled EU4. That should buy me a week.
