Cyrus
Cyrus watched as his people spread throughout their mountainous home. Under the watchful eye of the Hammers and the golems, things were peaceful. Ogre and dwarven smiths could be found in most major cities, their goods the envy of all others. The Temple in the White City was coming along nicely, as was the small palace the delegates were making for themselves just outside the city.
Cyrus was upset that the star metal wasn't his, but he was not too concerned. There were other metals in the earth that would work just as well that his people were just beginning to find and understand.
Cyrus
Cyrus goes and appears in front of Saradinus. ""Yes brother? What can I do for you this fine day?"
"I understand you are very proficient in the construction of any material object. I myself am a small specialist in this area... However, I lack the skill to create a truly remarkable, by divine standards... weapon. I'm interested in creating something I'd like to call a "Proto-Artifact".
Its something that is meant as an experiment to see if we can bridge the gap between a merely legendary mortal weapon and one of divine strength. I realize that the Powers That Be prevent us from making a truly fearsome artifact as we possess, but if we could make something in-between, it would be of great use to us."
Cyrus
Cyrus strokes his chin in thought for a moment. "I too have thought about making other items for myself. Just what did you have in mind?"
Cyrus
Cyrus smiles. "I already have such an artifact. But I should be able to make such a wand. But why? How do I know it will not be turned against my people?"
Cyrus
Cyrus smiles and shakes his head. "That's still not a guarntee. What if you decide my ogres or dwarves are in your way? I want your word Sardinus that unless they are directly threatening you and yours, your wand will not be used against them."
Cyrus
Cyrus thought for a moment, then nodded. "That would indeed be a mighty gift. I shall go and begin work on the wand immediately, though you may want to assist in the final stage. After all, you will want the wand to work with your magicks, not mine."
Cyrus
Cyrus went to his forge and found a rod of mithril. He took the rod, shaping the end to resemble an outstretched hand, with a comfortable grip at the other end. Then he turned to Sardinus. "Well? What do you think?"
Erothayce
AS time continued the time-shifters learned more about the previous civilization. Erothayce knew of the Changed before his followers found their ruins and the way to change into them. They sent prayers to him asking what to do and for guidance. He sent back that all but one of the books they find should be burned as it was an affront to the purity of the soul. He also expended their power over time so they were no longer exhausted and could use their powers more often and for greater affect. The time-shifters experimented with the metal they had found and crafted masterful weapons and armor and also tools to use while they explored the far off reaches of the world. Erothayce himself continued to observe all and to write in his book.
(Minor godly act to strengthen my followers adn ONLY my followers.)
Gargax
While Gargax watched his people scuttle over the nearby mountains, a crafty Changed named Ocogoiks was busy in the lands of Cyrus. One of the dwarves had come to one of the ruins, though he did not know why, merely that he was compelled to do so. Truly, it had been Ocogoiks, whispering to him in his dreams, subtly manipulating him from the frays of his subconscious mind. Now, he was just one step closer to his goal.
As the Dwarf, who's name Ocogoiks had learned was Svearin, searched through the ruins, he found a tome carelessly discarded on the steps. He picked it up and thought little of it as he scavenged through the ruins. In truth there was little of real value. Perhaps a few urns or bowls which might fetch a decent price as a museum piece, but nothing truly worth anything.
And so the Dwarf headed home, a dusty old tome and an urn his only rewards for the work of trudging all the way to the ruins. However Ocogoiks was pleased, the first step was complete.
Cyrus
Cyrus shrugs as he tosses the mithril aside and reaches for an adamantite bar instead. "I do not have any of the starmetal, but adamnatite I have in plenty." He shapes the adamantite bar into a wand, with a grip on one end and a star shape on the other. He looks over at Sardinus. "Better?"
Cyrus
Cyrus smiles. "My people use runes actually. But if you mean for decoration, water has always symbolized life and healing. It is your object; you as the artist know what would suit it best."
Cyrus
Cyrus watched as Sardinus cast his spell. Afterwards, he set the wand down to anneal. He turned to Sardinus as he waited. "Perhaps in time we can work together to create true artifacts, yes?"
Cyrus
Cyrus shrugs. "I can see no reason why we could not. It seems to benefit us both, at least for the time being."
"Uh, sure...." He wondered if those were his last words.. " So.... its been a lovely exchange. If you'd prefer I could exchange with you our version of these "runes". We are more of the arcane persausion than the technical of course... but you may find our tools very useful."
Cyrus
Cyrus nods. "Of course. We'd be glad to exchange magicks with you. I'm sure we can find many other things to exchange in the future as well."
"Hopefully not arrow swarms..... " He jokes..... "So..... my wizards should be coming any moment now for an exchange.... I make sure they can follow me at a mere thought."
He thought for a moment. "How would you like runes capable of warding off insects from your settlements?"
Mavil
Tucked away in the corner of the earth Mavil watched his people grow and develop. He decided soon will be the time for his people extend beyond their lands. Truly, he believed that soon his goals will be accomplished. But one thing was missing. A form of travel. He looked around and grabbed several eagles. In his hand he crushed the birds as fire could be seen from the surrounding of the fist. When he opened back up his palms, beautiful creatures flew out. They creatures had a very little ability to multiply, but Mavil created enough for his more important ashenborn. In time these fast birds of flames would become numerous in his lands. He had created phoenixes with the ability to be reborn again from start after death. He sent them to his people and used his avatar to teach them how to train them.
SpoilerMajor god act: created phoenixes.
Illopet
Illopet sent a message to Cyrus "Would you send an avatar to me so that we could talk. I would be grateful."
