Let's (MS)Paint OotS fanart?
I've been on these forums quite a long while, and it's always surprised me that we're lacking in painted fanart. Because it's very simple to do! Just open up a drawing application of some description, set your mouse to 2 point and full hardness (or just use medium sized paintbrush in MSpaint), grab your mouse and go.

It doesn't take long to do, and your characters can be as flexible as you like; it's a lot more free than doing it with vectors and trying to make it look 'proper', and even though your end result looks messy; it's alright, because that's how it's meant to look!
Remember to save your final results as a png or gif, because jpg compression does not lend itself to things where it's all pixels.
Here are some of my own. I like scribbly lines in the background, but it's just because I'm like that;

C'mon, forums, it's an artstyle you're not taking advantage of! And it's fun! Let's see what you're made of!

Re: Let's (MS)Paint OotS fanart?
Very good Oppolo, I like it, they are very free form. Did you use a mouse? Because, i can't do that with a mouse, Thats why i need the wondrous pen tool. I think I'll try it though. Anyways, very nice.
Is that the summary of the order of the stick series?
Oppolo, Can A request a sig image of the 3 avies i have now in some sort of fight?
Re: Let's (MS)Paint OotS fanart?
The thing with MSPaint, is that its like pen and paper drawing; the lines are not objects, you're just recoloring the pixels. Thus, if you mess up, you have to very carefully erase that part... and if you mess up on THAT... you have to redraw what you accidentally erased, etc... I find Adobe Illustrator better, but maybe I'm just a spoiled kid.
Re: Let's (MS)Paint OotS fanart?
I'm pretty sure theres ctrl-z for that.
Undo can work wonders
Re: Let's (MS)Paint OotS fanart?
hmmm, perhaps MS should remove the undo feature to pose more of a challenge? :smallwink:
ps. there's a lot of fanart to be found here. I know that a few avatarists use paint too (Tomb Raven, iirc?).
Re: Let's (MS)Paint OotS fanart?
The undo thing can only be used up to 3 times in a row, so it's hard if you make a part of an image and you think, 'nah actually, I don't like that'
And now you can see another MSpaint image gone wrong (course it went wrong, I drew it!)

I'll get the hang of it eventually, anyway, the next piece contains 18 of the OotS characters, do you know who they all are?:

Re: Let's (MS)Paint OotS fanart?
Looks like fun so I gave it a go. Took all of two minutes too!

It looks like stick figures meets comic book/graphic novel. I guess its just the poses. I really like it.
