Re: LGBTAI+ #50: Warning: This topic has exceeded its maximum awesome level.
I was just skimming the DSM-V and lo and behold, they actually acknowledge asexuality as a real orientation and not just a mental disorder. Unfortunately, they only mention it in passing, and only under the listing for female sexual arousal disorder, and they don't say to present the idea to women who've never heard of it as an alternative to diagnosing them with a mental disorder. They've also, for some reason, separated out male and female hypoactive sexual desire disorders into two things and folded the female version into female sexual arousal disorder (which used to be basically the female equivalent of male erectile dysfunction). This also includes a whole bunch of diagnostic criteria that seem to suggest that women will be having sex anyway because their male partners want it, and they'll just not enjoy it. Male hypoactive sexual desire disorder only has one criterion and doesn't mention asexuality at all, because of course men not having sex is a big problem because men are horny animals. Overall, as usual, I prefer how the DSM-IV did it, even if the DSM-V does mention asexuality in passing.

That was 64 weeks ago. In that time I have not started on hormones, nor spoken to a specialist in gender. The delays are quite annoying.
I wonder if it would be useful to up the dose of my anti-depressants.

That's your appointment for references, right? So you'll still need another for the hormones?
Trans health care seems completely ludicrous on your side of the Atlantic.

Not sure if anyone will be able to help or not, but a friend of mine is trying to afford top surgery and set up a donation page. The results have been pretty good for family and friends donating, but I'm afraid it's still a long ways away from meeting the goal with only 2 days left. As is usually the case: anything helps. If you can't afford to give but wish to show your support I'm sure that is also welcome.

Coidzor: Humans die in infancy without caring tactile stimulation. Human children raised in a controlled, non-caring environment suffer developmental issues and health problems strictly from lack of human (or similar?) contact.
Human contact is an actual, physical need as much as air and water.

Maybe? My local psychiatrist was taking so long, that I asked a different doctor to refer me to a different psychiatrist.
I'm meeting these people for the first time. If they tell me they have to see me for a year before referring me, I guess I'll break something, or have a panic attack.
I am definitely breathing badly right now. Silly anxiety

Go to youtube, search for fake cleavage.
You will find the sort of magic they use.
The tutorial from Pollo Del Mar is quite straight forward: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oca-4BXJCp4
The video is safe for work too.

You'd have to remove your boobs first and place them under the pillow. Or sleep with a pillow on your chest.

I want to sleep with a pillow on my chest and wake up with my moobs greatly reduced. :frown:
EDIT - I forgot how to emoticon

Re: LGBTAI+ #50: Warning: This topic has exceeded its maximum awesome level.
Thank you everyone and sorry for the outburst yesterday. :smallfrown:
I'm feeling a bit better today. I think it having been more than two months since my last laser appointment, which means my face is all scratchy and I have lots of shadow isn't helping with dysphoria. I have another one next week though, so that'll hopefully help. It's also just that my skin is really sensitive, so shaving always hurts and irritates, which doesn't help. I really need to work up courage to get some foundation though.
The fact that it's getting closer to summer which means thinner clothes when I'm self-conscious about my body + seeing cute outfits that I don't dare to wear isn't great either. And lots of worries about school and anxiety and stuff.
@Kender; I try to do that. I've been trying to get back into painting miniatures recently, but the anxiety makes it really hard to decide on colours and such to use and I'm very fickle about this stuff as it is. And spending time and money on it doesn't help with the guilt issues either. :/

It is very much needed, and I only rarely get proper, physical cuddles, more's the pity, though I think that recently changed.

Re: LGBTAI+ #50: Warning: This topic has exceeded its maximum awesome level.
@Lena, I think I can safely speak for just about everyone here when I say that we don't ever want you to feel as though you need to apologize for your "outburst" (which wasn't that at all, but merely you just trying to get some stuff off your chest). We are here to support and the only way we can support in a forum based environment is if people do type out what they are feeling. So, please, don't ever feel like you are a bother, or anyone else for that matter, because that's what we are here for!!
@Helio - I have a gay friend who does drag and holy crap does he look good when he does it. He does quite have the same voluptuous characteristics as your friend has (bravo on to him by the way) but he does a singing show around here and while I haven't been to a live performance, I have seen some videos of him singing and he is quite fabulous.
@razovor - Let us know how the meeting goes! All the support and hugs love.

While asleep, although I look human, I behave as an octopus who suffers from both severe and erratic fits and a constant displeasure with the specific way the blankets and pillows are arranged. I have woken up everywhere in the bed, including on the opposite side of my partner to where I started, and I've done everything and anything to the blankets and pillows, including making a neat stack of pillows on the floor at the foot of the bed, and rotating the blanket 180 degrees in two axes.

I'm glad you're feeling better, but ugh, that's annoying! I hate feeling guilty about my hobbies. It helps me to set a budget, for the financial side at least. I spend the same amount of money, but it's all on purpose!

Re: LGBTAI+ #50: Warning: This topic has exceeded its maximum awesome level.
So in less than a week's time, I will not be an audiologist any more. Some of you already know this story but about two months ago, I had major issues with anxiety that caused me to re-evaluate almost everything in my life - my job, my home, my future. So I've decided to ante up and resign and find out what I was actually supposed to do with my life before I ended up stuck in audiology for 12 years. Also seem to have acquired a therapist along the way as well, which has proved equal parts insightful, positive and horrifying. >.>
Also starting to wonder a little bit about my sexuality as well. It'll be interesting to see what happens next.

Psychiatrist was as confused about how things work in Staffordshire as I am. Thinks he can refer me straight away. Will check and inform my gp this week
It would be charing cross which has the longest waiting list in the uk, but maybe I can get start on hormones while I wait.
I'm too worried the psychiatrist is incorrect to be happy yet.

Asta Kask: Anger and spite come from the trolls, from the gods of the trolls. But Crom is your god, Crom and he lives in the thread. Once, trolls lived in the Thread, Conan. And in the darkness of chaos, they fooled Crom, and they took from him the enigma of the thread. Crom was angered. And the Thread shook. Fire and wind struck down these giants, and they threw their bodies into the waters, but in their rage, the gods forgot the secret of the thread and left it on the battlefield. We who found it are just men. Not gods. Not giants. Just men. The secret of thread has always carried with it a mystery. You must learn its riddle, Succubus. You must learn its discipline. For no one - no one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts.
[Points to the thread]
Asta Kask: This you can trust.
