It isn't crazy, but then it wasn't crazy the first time either. The point is that it didn't happen, but it's retroactively assumed that it did.

What I mean is, isn't it possible it happened off-panel? They've been traveling for days, V could have perfectly well just sat next to Elan and offered to help him with his illusions. There's no reason to assume it didn't happen just because there was a joke earlier about something being possible despite not happening.
I mean, it's possible to interpret it that way. That's why I called it an Alternate Interpretation. I just don't see it as cold-and-hard fact.

In 796, the spectator who's killed has a #1 foam finger.
It reads Thog, fan 4 life. So true.

Yes, of course. The thing is that you're retroactively assuming that it did, which is the joke. A bit meta, isn't it?

Here's something I've found. In here the weasel talks to Miko. The weasel wants to be her sidekick. This is a reference to the old game Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer, as Shiren has a sidekick called Koppa who is a weasel and wisecracks. What is more, both Shiren and Miko wear blue cloaks.

She's pretty hard to recognize, isn't she?

One ninja survived the battle between Kubota's men and Elan, Therkla & the Katos. Or we at least never see the ninja killed.

Well, you know the 'Inverse Ninja Law '. He was unstoppable, so they 'let him go'...
(I suspect that Ninjaman is alluding to this very thing... :smallwink:)

In SoD, while Fyron is giving a tour of his library, you can see Vaarsuvius in the crowd. Or someone who looks exactly like him.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Thog's cry of "talky man broke thog's tusk...TALKY MAN BROKE THOG'S TUSK!!!" is very similar to Roy's shout at Xykon "You broke my sword...YOU BROKE MY SWORD!!" and both statements end in beatings.

It should be noted this is exactly why it was the culmination to Roy's "We are nothing alike!" speech. Thog proves, well, they are. :smallwink:

But can Thog’s tusk be reforged with a piece of meteorite?

That... would be AWESOME!

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Yeah, but the person who tells him how to do so turns out to be Haley in disguise.

Why do you give us these ideas when we know they will never happen.:smallfrown:

And Thog's "STOP TALKING" as he KOs Roy mirrors Miko's "STOP TALKING" when she dazes Roy.
(which also fits into 'Roy talks too much / talks down to everyone', hence Thog calling him Mr Talky-man in the first place)

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I never noticed that in 203, when the OotS is claiming to be completely innocent, both Haley and V seem to be freaking out a bit, while Belkar is perfectly fine. Didn't know the little bugger had such a good Bluff skill. I also never noticed V's line: "Yes. None of us have even tampered with the fundamental natural order when bored. That would be wrong."

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I just moticed that Thog's fanboy that got killed was waving a red flag. star trek
Also, in 610, Dream Shojo referenced Inception.
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Er, I'm not sure Inception was out at that point.
Edit: Yeah, #610 is a 2008 comic. Inception came out two years later. Bit early for a reference, eh?
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Clearly Inception contained a reference to Order of the Stick!
