The Island - In the Camp (Game Thread)

Reminder:
Do not post OOC here unless absolutely necessary, use the other thread instead.
Do not post here if you're not at the Camp, except when the lynchings start.
When posting a lynchvote, if you're not at the Camp, you're not allowed to post anything other than who you're pointing at.

...okay, the cameras are ready... lights on, one, two, three, go.

"Welcome everyone, to this year's season of The Island! Again, twenty lucky players have been chosen to go on a vacation on an island which has been temporarily cleared of inhabitants for this purpose. The former members of Class 5A of the Vaider Academy, they're currently being transported onto their respective starting locations.

"Every contestant will be given certain equipment and a weapon. There are some other things left lying around on the island. The winner will be the last man(or woman) standing!"

The camera angle switches to show a suited man with green eyes.

"And here is our head Observer for the contest this year, Mr. Mat Urska."

As the applause quietens, Mat walks to the mic. "Thank you, everyone. I will do my absolute best for this year's contest to be as exciting as possible for you all. I've already given the contestants their instructions, but I'm afraid my flight to the Island is waiting. I want to express my wish for good luck to all our contestants and my hopes for a good game."

The cheers and applause starts again as he leaves the stage.

"And there you heard it. Now it's time for some background information on the contestants while we wait for things to get underway on the Island..."

A list of names along with a face to match it is shown to the viewers.

And Day One begins now and ends sometime next Wednesday or perhaps Thursday if I forget or perhaps later if I end up having trouble.

The First Day ends. There's no messages on anyone dying yet. Twenty players still alive...

And the players are on the move now. Mostly, that is, one of them appears to still be unconscious. However, everyone else is ready to start the game. Quite a bunch of people appear to be moving towards the camp, but many are trying to get their bearings first. And some lucky ones have already found other shelter for themselves.

The cameras at Camp show as the first arrival enters. The Fiery Tower walks in through the north entrance, looking around at the empty area. There's a message board, a clock, a food dispenser and a private room for each player, which should be rather secure.

While he's still looking around, another person arrives from the east. Danny Starling, one of the more popular people of the class. He's rich, has charm, has a reputation as a smart guy and is liked. This obviously means he had enemies, too. The two silently look at each other for a short moment as they hear the heavy breathing of yet another arrival.

From the north, Pete Corwin runs into the Camp, looking as though he's been travelling for quite a while. He also stops as he sees the other two.

(Happyturtle, The Fiery Tower and DemonicAngel met each other at the Camp. The Camp contains a Food source where you can take one food per day. It also has a private room for everyone. Feel free to roleplay/talk in the thread, you're also allowed to PM to each other if you wish.)

The sun sets on the island, marking the beginning of the first night.

"Hi Danny. Fiery." Pete says. "I guess you got caught up in this mess too."

"It appears we did. well, I, for once, am hungry. will you two dine with me?" he says, before resting against a wall and taking out the small pack of food he got, still at large, it seems. he smiles to the two classmates.

Night One Ends!
The sun starts to rise. Some people slumber on, weary, after travelling through the night. Others toss and turn restlessly as they wake up from their dreams, mainly unpleasant. Yet others stretch after a good night's rest. And some...

Ooh. One of our competitors is attempting something risky... The camera pans to show a girl climbing a fence. Beverly Hill drags herself over and falls on her feet on the other side.

Slowly and carefully, she starts walking further into the new zone. She throws rocks ahead, checking the ground. Soon, she sees the looming shape of buildings ahead. After a few more moments of slow progress, she finally reaches the first one. Grabbing the handle to the door, she presses it to go inside... only to hear a metallic click. A look of horror in her face is zoomed on, just as an explosion rips apart the door and her arm up to her shoulder. She screams and staggers backwards, not hearing the second click. Not hearing anything else anymore.

The contestants all hear distant explosions. Those of them not yet awake are woken up, if not by that, then the electric click on their screens.

Player 5 - MOD - Dead.


Meanwhile, at the Camp: Pete Corwin sets off with Danny in tow, leaving the Camp. A while after they leave, a girl comes in from a different direction. Her name is Ranna, and she takes in her surroundings at a glance. She looks at The Fiery Tower, on her guard, but walks in nevertheless, perhaps too tired to head back outside anyway and reassured by the lack of instant hostility.

It seems things have gotten started. One of the players already got herself killed, and a few other confrontations are happening around the island.

Day Two starts. I'll be sending out PMs shortly.

*ranna waves shyly at The Fiery Tower*

Hiya, who are you? and what are you up to here? - Do you know where any of the food is by any chance I've cleaned all my rations off.

Your fire looks like it is petering out, I can scout about for some wood to relight it if you'd like?

*Ranna Looks at The Fiery Tower waiting for an answer - finding none she shrugs and moves quickly but quietly around camp gathering up some fire wood and starts her self a roaring fire to cook some rations on. After a slap up meal she salts some meat from the reserves gives some of it to The Fiery Tower and rests for a couple of hours in the sun*

*feeling fully refreshed and rested ranna decides that she would like to travel back the way she came, there is no point in exploring if you cannot be throughouh about it.*

"Ok then Fiery, you keep camp clean and hold the base I am going to go back out see if I can find any way out of this mess. If I do not return before full dark tonight do not worry I have my rations and I wont talk to any strangers I promise!"

*Ranna does a brownie Salute and skips outta camp following the little dented trail she had made the night before*

Day Two Ends



A bit after Ranna leaves, Pete and Danny return to the camp again, heading to the messageboard first to check anything new before grabbing something to eat. Despite their somewhat ragged clothes, they appear to be getting a bit used to the situation.

From the east a man walks in somewhat more cautiously. Westley Jones stops as he notices the others inside. He appears to be carrying some sort of a nasty-looking contraption, although he hides it a bit behind himself as he stands.

As the attention of the onlookers is focused on the new arrival, from the west another man sneaks in and grabs a few food rations before sneaking back out. None of the others notice him.

A sudden announcement makes everyone stop what they were doing for the moment.

"To give everyone something more to do, we will put up a vote. Everyone can use their touch screens to select a player. The player with the most votes will have his collar explode.

Oh, and if nobody puts in a vote, then the lynchee will be decided at random.

But don't worry; if you happen to be in a zone not marked as a danger zone, you will survive the lynch. Of course, we won't be telling you which ones are danger zones, just that they will be increasing over time.

Have fun."

Pete looks around anxiously, and his heart sinks. She wasn't here.

He sits on the ground and starts drawing a heart in the dirt with his finger. Please be alive. Please...

Westley looks around cautiously, attempting to stow away his contraption in his back-pack before anyone can get too close a look at it.

Evening all. He says, smiling a little awkwardly. He goes and grabs some food and water, eating some now and storing the rest in his pack.

He hears the announcement and looks startled. We have to... oh god... he says, before glancing at his collar. What was that they said at the start of the game? They might detonate the collars if we didn't kill enough?

He shudders and chooses a name at random from his screen.

Danny tunrs aorund the camp, going straight into his room. the door shuts behind him as he runs out shoting, sounds very much pissed.
Who the hell stole my knife?! bloody hell.. I need to find a new weapoon... 'till then.. my vote goes to that Deathslayer7 guy... with that name I'm afraid of what hell do."

Ranna looks at her little screen as it starts to flash at her, never one to be any good with technology she scans about to see if there is anyone around who can help her decipher the meaning on the screen.

Thinking it a communication device she presses *the FieryTower* in order to try to speak to him. At this the screen goes red and thanks her for her vote..

"Hmm what vote.. maybe he gets some cake? - Hope he is guarding the camp good"

The Fiery Tower... Just because he's tall and has red hair doesn't mean people need to come up with nicknames!

The Timothy Stevenson shook himself awake. He had been in the camp for a day or so, just thinking, pondering the mess he was in. This "lynch", however, got him back awake and more alive then he had been.

Well, let's try for survival, shall we? Looking at his device, he presses Deathslayer7's name. Noticing his stomach nearly empty, food is now the first and foremost thing on his mind.

The evening turns to night, and as night starts to pass the announcer returns.

"And counting the votes, it seems we're pretty close here between two candidates... but according to the rules, the one with the earlier votes goes first. I'm afraid time's up for Player Thirteen, The Fiery Tower."

In the Camp, the horrified players follow as Fiery's collar starts beeping and flashing red at an increasing pace. He himself madly attempts to tear it off him, crying and begging the others for help, but the others can do nothing but stay away from him to avoid the explosion. In a few moments, a dull *thud* and Fiery's throat is blown apart, spewing blood around as he collapses in the middle of the Camp. A silence follows among the ones there who are still alive.

"Player Thirteen, The Fiery Tower, died during Night Two."

(I need a lot more actions, people.)

It's a rather quiet night on the island. And very... long.

A few more people arrive at the camp, one after another. First, Hank Brannigan from the west, grabbing his share of food and retreating to his room. Then, Tracey and Geraldine, one after another, from the East. Both quickly head to their respective beds aswell, not ones for small talk on this night.

Meanwhile, some gunfire is heard from the north side of the island. However, nobody is marked dead; a relief to some, bad luck to others.

The body at the Camp is already beginning to smell. Tropical conditions indeed.
