You are right, I should mention that after Ceika's work is awesome too and I'll return to my normal avvy after the week (month?) is over.

But really, I would love a Dragon ship.

Scarlet, yours is coming along soon. I'm just flooded with work right now. By the weekend, yours will truly be complete, not just a fugly sketch in the OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase.

One pretty important details, which you can probably spot on my current avatar are the blue lines on her face. Those represent her
dragonmark. I don't expect you to draw it in ful, just ad a line here and there on her face, like Kris did, so it's obvious.

Re: Back by Popular demand: Pirate Week (Sept 16-22)
I'm here to finally make my avatar request for Pirate week!
I'd like a piratified version of my normal avatar, Eric:
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...cGreenhilt.png
Eye patch is a must and his weapon of choice is a green-hilted (of course) rapier.
In addition, the esteemed Kneenibble has agreed (via PM) to be my shoulder budgie for Pirate Week! Because he's so much cooler than a parrot.
Here's his Aquatic Week avatar for reference if anyone needs it:

Sorry for the delay, Harnel!

A first mate-ish sort of get up, with waistcoat, bandana and obligatory eyepatch. I hope you can make out the gun okay. Feel free to request changes or fixes!
Man, the hair was kind of tricky. It's more complicated than it seems at first glance. Props to whoever did the original avatar.

Cheese Pirate, do you mind if I ask what program you use to make your spectacular artwork? I've decided that my new goal in life is to try and emulate your awesome style

I'm terribly old fashioned, for these avatars I used a 2.0 calligraphy pen on paper to do the outlines. After scanning the drawings I coloured them with an ancient version of ArcSoft PhotoStudio 2000 (from 1999 - wouldn't recommend it) - it came free with my equally ancient scanner. After resizing to 120x120 pixels I used Pro Motion (a very nice commercial editor for doing pixel graphics and animations) to make the avatars transparent and touch them up a little where needed.
Edit - added bigger versions of two avatars so you can see how they looked before I shrunk them:

I love it. My only issue with is, unfortunately is that Harnel can't shoot worth a turd, so he likely wouldn't be using a gun. This is a minor gripe though, so don't worry about changing it

For Pirate Week, I wish to be a Sky Pirate in a steam powered hot air balloon.
You know, just to be different.
I shall like to wear one of those fancy coats that naval officers used to wear in the 1800s, but purple, not blue. And I don't want a hat because I'm not a hat person.
Also, I feel like having long dark blonde hair this time around, just to be different.
As for a pose, either something dramatic involving a sword, or ready to drop a brick on someone.
Finally, instead of a parrot on my shoulder, a raven.
YES. THIS. STEAMPUNK SKY PIRATE NAOMI. Please?
Style it how you like, as normal the only absolute requirement is that she be wearing a hat of some sort. The trilby is a bit of a signature, but I understand entirely that it doesn't really fit the whole steampunk sky pirate vibe :P
Also, can I vote that November is CheesePirate week? :P
EDIT: Switched back to my default avatar for reference purposes.

Pen and paper, eh? It's been a while since I last drew on paper. The tablet's been spoiling me, I guess :P
Thank you for the larger pictures. I love your colouring and shading style.

Ahh. Well, he can always use it point blank :smalltongue:.
Also, I've only just noticed that his tail should probably go behind his wing. I can fix that tomorrow.

Thank you! I do have a tablet - I'm not a complete luddite, though I refuse to replace my dead tree library with something that runs on batteries - but I still like to draw on paper.
