Interesting thought.

New characters - including Ellie Vance, hmm I guess they are going to secretly brief him about Charlie then - but they are Thinkamancers - why not just send it to his mind?
Or second thought, they are going to hand him over to Charlie, but want him to act as a double agent for them. Not sure how the hippiemancers are going to react to this.
So, this is the point where things go south I assume.
If you go back and read the Thinkamancers' update, their temple is the one place they believe Charlie can't see into. So my guess is that they want to talk to Parson about Charlie in private, and need him in their temple for it to happen.
They can't tell him why they need him there, because they're afraid that Charlie will overhear if they discuss it anywhere but there.
(In fact, it occurs to me that Parson's entire reason for being here might actually be something Maggie implanted in his mind. It never made much sense from a tactical standpoint -- perhaps Maggie manipulated him into going to the Magic Kingdom in order to get him to the Great Minds so they could talk to him someplace where Charlie couldn't see? Of course, she seemed opposed to it when talking to him, but that could've just been playing a role, especially if she thinks that Charlie can spy on them anywhere.)
So you suppose Isaac Sagan there has taken into account that Wanda and Jack and the Arkenpliers are right behind him, about two steps and a portal transition away?
This is pretty much what I think happens, war comes to the MK due to Wanda and Jack coming to save Parson from the GMTTA
The GMTTA have their own agenda (or agendas... Isaac and his companions' agenda seems not to quite align with Maggie's, and there may be other splits in their supposedly-alike thinking), and while it's not necessarily opposed to Parson's, they've got their own purposes in mind for him that have little to do with what he's focused on at this point. Opposing Charlie may be in all their best interests, but I don't think the GMTTA care about the war between GK and RCC2 except insofar as it affects those interests, whereas it's Parson's overriding priority at the moment.
And they're doing a really bad job of approaching him about it. They're not giving Parson any reason to think that working with them would be any better than working for Charlie. (Marie's equally bad about it... she's trying to push Parson's buttons, but clearly doesn't have any idea where Parson's buttons actually are. Appealing to Duty might work on an Erfling, but just rubs Parson the wrong way.) I think for the Thinkamancers, it's arrogance, not ignorance, though.
I just want to see Wanda step through the portal and Arkenply Isaac by the head.
How much danger is Parson actually in here, though? He still has that Staff of Suckage, so they'll have to get it away from him if they want to cast anything on him.
I think there is a lot of danger; his staff might protect him from one or two spells, but there are over half a dozen thinkamancers, maybe all of them master class or at least high level.
I think the real danger would come if he started attacking the Thinkamancers in order to stop them taking him away...he's in the Magic Kingdom, and I doubt the other 'mancers are going to take kindly to him hurting their own, no matter the provocation.
Jojo recognized the Staff of Suckage and seemed familiar with its capabilities. I have to assume that the GMTTA know as much, so the fact that they don't seem concerned about it tells me that they think they have the ability to bypass or overwhelm it.
On the other hand, Parson's not alone. He's stacked with Sizemore, who's a pretty competent, if not Master-class, Dirtamancer, and has Janis, a Grand Abby Hippiemancer, and Marie, who seems to be a powerful Predictamancer, with him. While they might not be on his side, exactly, they might act to defend him if they think letting him do his thing is more in their interests than letting the Thinkamancers take him - which I believe is the case. And, as I mentioned above, Parson's got Wanda, Jack, and an attuned Arkentool one portal transition away.
New Erfworld is up-Are you in Good Hands?
Interesting that the other Thinkamancers were able to keep what they were planning from Maggie--guess they're not as closely linked up as was earlier implied!
I wonder how may honest predictamancer's there are? I mean I'm sure they can't lie to their leader. But ones with leaders can lie and tell anyone that they predicted what they want other people to do. Even one's with leader's can lie to anyone else. And if the person they are lying to is a fatist, they will do what the predictamancer says without question.
And I think that is exactly what Marie is doing to Janis here.
It's all about Headology, after all.
On a side note, Rob announced that they "probably won't do more than one or two texts for the rest of Issue 2, which is looking to come to a close within the next half-dozen pages or so".
For the next strips, let's expect a sequence of cliffhangers... :smallwink:
Alright, now what kind of caster would a RED Spy be?
And Jack proves to be awesome, providing an object lesson to the poor confused soldier in the process...
Was I the only person kind of terrified by panel 8?
Yeah, I think those looks of surprise answer my question. It never occurred to Isaac that Wanda and Jack could step through the portal right behind him.
Ahh, Jack. Gotta love 'im.
Wow. The two best examples of dialogue in the whole strip AND they share the same page. "Disband yourself." and Jack's monologue are going to stick with me for some time yet.
Huh, look at panels 1, 3, 11, 12. That is probably the old Dollamancer Holly Shortcake. A hint?
Slately had a thing for the old Dollmancer before she was sent off to meet the Titans. No surprise the King kept stuff like that around.
