Well, outside the castle itself, the city doesn't try to kill repairmen. Well, not quite as viciously. Or effectively.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Oh! It's "DIG we must!" I thought it was "DIE we must!" Which would add an extremely fatalistic - but perhaps appropriate - flavor to the doings of the Mechanicsburg Department of Public Works...
Oh yeah, Moloch knows Agatha. If the guy has a couple of weeks von Zinzer could probably tell him about it.
-
Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Kinda wonder where a Chief Minion ranks compared to the ordinary Mechanicsburg rabble. Probably like a minor retainer to a nobleman. Given the culture, the prestige of being Chief Minion is probably rather high, in the "hey, you do THAT job -- and you're still ALIVE?" sort of way. It's probably the best town to have Von Zinzer's job in in the world.
Since most of Mechanicsburg is made up of what's basically minions, I think Von Zinzer is about to be pleasantly surprised just how high on the proverbial hog he's going to be living. My guess is that Agatha and Vanamonde (and Carson by courtesy) are going to wind up being the only people who clearly outrank him.

Minor Retainer? As Chief Minion in a town of minions he's probably right up there with Seneschal!

True.
I mean it's Mechanicsburg, and he's the ranking mechanic.
Nice little life you've fallen into there, Moloch. Especially with Violetta, Wilhelm and Snaug all very much interested. Or I should say for the sake of accuracy, Wilhelm and Snaug interested, and Violetta declaiming her disinterest WAAAAY too much.

When this is over, I will read The Moloch Chronicles

No, I would say Snaug interested, Violetta and Wilhelm Sanaa Trygvassen declaiming her disinterest WAAAAY too much.

Somehow, I'm much more in favour of a love quadrangle with Moloch and those three than the love triangle between Agatha, Gil and Tarvek. But only because the stakes are so much lower, and they are at best secondary characters - so it'll bring the laughs forth, rather than the drama.

Of course. It doesn't stop me from rooting for Snaug, though.

I'd be happy with OTF, or any combination you care to make of OTP + Pair the spares. Snaug manages to both inspire pitty for her station and radiate acceptance of it, so I'm happy either way.

Actually, I'd say Sanaa WASN'T interested before. After all, who wants a guy who almost destroys himself and his surroundings with a coffee cup if you speak to him? His love lorn loopiness was a definite off-put. But now that he's gotten a lot more battle hardened and capable, we'll have to see how she feels about it.
Assuming Snaug doesn't 'accidentally' kill her first...

I'd call it more resigned and fatalistic, but po-tae-to, po-tah-to.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Sanaa looks oddly cute in that last panel.
-
Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Embrace it Moloch.
And by "It" I mean both "Your Role as Alpha Minion", and "Saana"

Shhh... quiet...
Hear that? That's the desire to run away escaping Moloch's mind...

Grey Wolf
The unfortunate truth is, as you said, they are at best secondary characters.
I wouldn't be surprised if "tragedy" does not insert itself into the triangle further up in the story.

"Your point?"
Too bad we're so far short of New Thread Time

It's her body language.
If she popped that button on the jumpsuit, Moloch would be putty in her hands. Hmmm, never thought the little sister of Othar would be minion material (or maybe she just likes Moloch's sudden competence?).

She's the one who wants to be Othar's spunky girl sidekick. Of course, Other thinks it's Agatha.

I'm kind of surprised she hasn't tried it yet. Maybe she has and Sanaa has just reflexively dodged out of the way without realizing all those near lethal 'accidents' aren't accidental.
Is that one of Gil's lightning generators? It's got the clear dome on top, but not the odd projections around the sides...
-
Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Oh, man, I bet Moloch could come up with a couple of things for her to do. *wink wink, nudge nudge*
Also, isn't it nice to have a mad social scientist around to explain all of this stuff?

Agatha AND Violetta and maybe even Tarvek. Anyone else notice that he seems to have completely forgotten his sister after leaving the Castle? No wonder he loses spunky girl sidekicks so often.

The sign on the damaged building on the previous page said, "Substation."

I think that Moloch's Minionharem is the result of his sudden ascendance to Alpha Minion, due to his prior association with Agatha (the Alpha Spark), giving him social status and allowing his natural competence to shine through.

Moloch got status.
Minions love status.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
I'm done with Agatha's Love "Triangle." We all know Gil wins -- so boring :smallsigh:
Now Moloch's Harem? This I can be interested in
Also -- I'm betting on the S.S. Moletta. She can totally take out Snaug and Wilhelm is far, far too late to the game :smallamused:

Yeah, the shy and defensive posture (legs twisted, hands hidden) pretty much tells "I'm vulnerable and need you to awake your male instincts of being a protector and caretaker".

Sanaa may be late to the game, but that is offset by the fact that we know Moloch is interested in her, more so than the other two. She has a built-in advantage.

Poor Snaug is basically not a competitor, unless the Minionharem becomes fully realized. He's already interested in Saana (And she's a fully realized Adventurer in her own right), and Violetta has the advantage of being a Ninja, and the whole Fire-Forged friendship thing.
