50
But if you add the palette swaps, racial swaps, cutie mark swaps, clones, foals that don't go outside, and 40 Derpies.
About 500-600 ponies

Yeah, I don't imagine it to be a particularly big town, far less than a thousand ponies. Maybe somewhere closer to 200-300? That'd be my guess.
An Evacuation? Well, I guess I'll have to wait for that to clear up to introduce my characters. It would just be out of character for them not to have a flashy entrance.
In order to not drag out this night longer than its already been..which feels like FOREVER
I suggest that for some reason that Simmer take the time to leave with an ominous warning or whatever and come back to troll the next day or something.
I was going to say that I couldn't think of any plausible reason that Simmer would up and leave, but then I realized it could sort of make sense if he wanted to crush their hopes even further by hitting them while they're at full strength. I'd say it'd be up to Sildra whether or not we conclude this long night. And for the record, I'm okay with long days/nights if there is plot actively happening. Provided everypony has something to do, it's aight in my book.
What exactly are we waiting for in the Civic Center again?
As a side note... What would happen if Foxglove's version of evacuating is, in fact, sitting on her metaphorical porch in her metaphorical rocking chair metaphorically holding a shotgun*, to protect the animals she can't send off into the mountains? Which it will be, I just want to know.
(*may not actually be a weapon of offensive magic of any sort)
Well probably not much since her grove is just a little ways from town where most of the action will take place..But who knows, maybe some armor baddie will come across there to try to get at dear Foxglove.
So what exactly is everypony evacuating from?
A slightly hammy big bad evil ancient armor that wants to enslave ponies and make clones of them, or something.
Alright, so we can move this along to the next ponyday and get people back into participation mode, what are we doing about the evacuation? I see this happening one of two ways:
1) We decide that the Civic Center (already said to be magical) is likely the safest place for them. A camp outside of town is too exposed to attack by Simmer, and the mages can work on enhancing the magical protections there. Shenanigans ensue as ponies get forced into the same building for a while.
2) We decide a camp outside of town is the safest place for them. Simmer plans to attack the town, and keeping the citizens as far away from him as possible is the best solution. Shenanigans ensue as ponies are forced to survive off the land and some supplies.
No matter which one we choose, I propose we keep the evacuee camp in the General Town thread, and all the ponies facing off against Simmer in the Downtown thread. Personally, I vote #1. The Center just seems like a safer place than camping outside of town. The ponies inside can get teleported away if things go badly.
EDIT: Also, I'll make sure in my next post to flag down an NPC pony to send word to the Civic Center of what's going on. Let ponies have a chance to react and all that.
Option Number Uno I'm all for.
I say 1.
The Civic centre is best.
Option one.
I'm fine with either, though I'd suspect Option 2 would involve something like a Cast Away-esque side adventure.
Alright, it looks like the general vote is to stay in the Civic Center. We can have a volunteer show up right away to give ponies the word. It'd give people something to do while we finish up at the Bar.
Can somepony else handle that NPC spokespony? Between school and another thing I'm DM'ing, I'm a little swamped at the moment.
Sure, I'll handle the npc spokespony when that time comes.
I just realized how angry Fireflower will be when she learns that she misses a battle against Simmer.
So many possibilities. So much fire.
Fortunately Simmer is immune to fire.
FireFlower can try her hooves at Simmer if you really want to. Could make for a good scene to play out. :)
The only question would be where and when?
Hey Tectonic? Were you going to reply to Zorroan or shall I just assume that she drops Candles off at the Civic Centre and goes looking for trouble again?
(I'm more or less deadtiming for the next 24 hours, out and about too much to post substantially)
Do Smoothie and Spark need a waiter for their not a date?
If so.. pick your waiter.. Orange, Green, Rainbow, Chily, or Peppermint.
Waiting on Gwyn and/or Knack in the Downtown thread.
End pony day?
