"Yes."
Cyrus frowns a bit. Over the mental connection, he'll simply respond: "Cyrus Ahu, no title. To allow a complicated ruse to reintroduce the soul to a convenient body AFTER convincing the leader of this organization that the subject is indeed dead."
He's actually telling the truth, as that is more or less his intention...
[Dungeon]
"If you will do so for Sarah Bloodchanter as well, then the soul agrees."
[Dungeon]
"The soul, when returned, has the capability to create an unsouled form for you to insert her soul into."
Prometheus's Lab
Cyrus will once again attempt to nab the soul into the makeshift soul jar!
Assuming success, Rael should be able to speak and hear through the magic of the jar. He should also be able to use any psychic links he already had. Which will probably confuse Karyana...
In addition, a link with Cyrus should be formed as long as he's in the jar.
Cyrus turns to Prometheus as he pulls off the goggles and holds both Soul Jars at his side: "Got 'em both. Shall we?"
Over the link comes the message: Just hold tight, Rael. I know exactly what I'm doing.
[Prometheus's Lab]
"If not, you will simply manage to anger Gtharon. So go ahead."
(Gtharon is the Lord of Undead back where Rael's from.)
[Main Room]
Karyana looks confused for a moment.
Prometheus's Lab
"Indeed. Might I request the girl's soul, however? She has quite annoyed me by killing many of my workers, and I happen to have a fitting punishment in mind. Certainly, mere eternal captivity is hardly enough to repay such abundant stupidity." Prometheus says, holding out his hand to take the quartz crystal holding Sarah's soul. Assuming Cyrus is willing to hand it over, of course.
Prometheus's Lab
I'll tell you what: It's yours, but only after Gordon sees them. I'm fairly sure he wants to see them both, anyway.
Cyrus has a very good point there...
Prometheus's Lab
"But of course.." Prometheus says, and will lead the way out of the lab. It's a lot less of a death trap when you're not trying to kill everyone on the way out.
Prometheus's Lab
Cyrus will follow him out, most likely to the Main Room! Where they will both probably wait until Phantom undeadtimes. :smalltongue:
(Sorry, I had relatives over. Family has to come first.)
Gordon sighs, as there is no sign of the other two prisoners.
"Prometheus, where are the other ones?"
The Door
The pounding at the door is beginning to reverberate through the walls surrounding it. Will it break? Will some idiot henchmen open it? Only time will tell.
Main Room
"They repeatedly tried to escape, ignored numerous offers to surrender quietly, and died. I did my best to incapacitate them, but even tearing the legs of the girl did not stop her from continuing to kill my troops, and the vampire commited suicide via grenade. We do, however, have their souls." Prometheus says, a touch of annoyance in his voice as he speaks of Rael and Sarah's escape attempt. Surely, they must have realized they could achieve no more than their own deaths? Why on earth did they try? And how on earth did he lose so many soldiers to those fools.?
[Main Room]
The Operative remains listening for now, making no visible response to Prometheus. This new development was interesting, if little else. Resurrections could happen, if he though Rael and Sarah were worth the resources. Now, though, he was being convinced of the negative.
[Main Room]
Cyrus nods in confirmation of Prometheus' description, though the lens containing Sarah's soul just starts laughing.
[Main Room]
The lens containing Rael's soul doesn't speak, yet.
Main Room
Gordon shakes his head.
"Well, it would seems like we have a bit of a problem. You only have one member left alive, and I don't have anyone to question. You will have your living member back, but I believe that you will not stop until you deal with Stu, correct?"
Front door
A henchman goes and opens the door. Better that than it to be broken.
Main Room
"Ah, so this would be the Operative." Prometheus says, drawing the ghost touch hatchet he retrieved from the armory, although he makes no move to attack. "If you are here to retrieve your minions, I am afraid your journey here was in vain. They are not worth employing, frankly."
The four mages have followed Prometheus into the room at this point, ready to offer support should the Operative attack.
[Main Room]
"I came here for all of my subordinates," the Operative replies. "Their competence, non-existent as is, is not an issue. As for Stu, I believe it would be in your best interest to hand him over. A demon's after him, which will prove a waste of your time and resources."
Main Room
Cyrus does nothing, though a spark of Blightning plays on his fingers.
Sarah continues laughing at Prometheus, probably just to annoy him.
The Door
And he is crushed to paste as a fist larger than his torso flies through the door.
Behind the fist stands a group of three. The massive man who through the punch lets his arm fall and quickly muscles his way through the doorway, hunching his shoulders and nearly crawling to fit. Behind him struts a Succubus, acting faintly amused and hold a cloth wrapped bundle, an elegant fencing foil bouncing on her rounded hip. The third merely stands in the arches, shadowed by the sunlight streaming in around him. From what anyone looking at him can see, he is very frail, hunched over coughing into his fist.
From the bundle, a familiar voice hollers out, "GORDON! I honestly didn't expect you to welch this quickly, but here I am, just barely out the door and I get a call from my friends down under. Y'know what they said to me? They informed me that two bloodmages up and died around here in the last little while. Now it just so happens that I secured the life of one of those two mages, in good working order I might add. So tell me, how, in any way shape or form, is this not what it looks huh? Tell me real convincing like, or I'll show you just what happens to those who Piss Off A Fiske!"
[Main Room]
What's Clarissa doing back here so soon?
Oh, right. She can smell blood as well as a shark can.
She stares at the newcomers from just outside a doorway leading into the main room, obviously considering something...
Probably something along the lines of "Gravy or butter?" :smalltongue:
The Hatter is also here. He stares at Fiske's men in sadistic silence.
"I didn't know that Hollywood was capable of making anything that ugly!"
Hatty's just asking for it now.
[Main Room]
Rael's lens says, to Prometheus, if that can be discerned, "I told you people would take offense... Though I admit I don't know this one."
It pauses for a moment, then addresses the Operative.
"As for the difficulties, the plan was going smoothly, until an unrelated incident caused them to believe that Karyana was a member of Remnant."
Main Room
"A shame, at least one of them is spoken for." Prometheus says, both to the Operative and to the Brain. "Allow me to make this clear. I will kill anyone who threatens AMEN. You may holler and threaten all you like, but make one move to harm any member of this organization, and I will cut you down."
Main Room
The behemoth standing at the head of the group smiles wickedly, "Then cut away, Girly Man!" he rumbles out, pounding his chest with a massive fist.
[Main Room]
"It matters little who is spoken for," the Operative replies. "They are my subordinates, and I'd very much like to know what particular brand of inadequacy led to their deaths and information on me being leaked." Rael is ignored, in favored of the Brain's voice. "Ah, there's one type of inadequacy now."
Main Room
Gordon sighs at the mention of a demon.
"What did Stu do, sign over his soul? Great, now I have to take care of that too."
Then the door is smashed, and insults are trade.
"Excuse me, but it seems like someone didn't bother getting all of the facts."
Turning to the trio at his door, Gordon sighs.
"There were three members, one of which is still alive. But, since this was a good day, all three of them will be leaving. And one more thing."
Gordon transforms into his dragon form, and stares at the big guy of the group who decided to drop by.
"Don't break my door."
