Must be a robot. The printer paper and oddly-shaped heart confirms it.
That is just so typical of a Court robot.
BWAH-HA-HA, Katherine! Let us now see if there is such glee and dancing about the room when the foot is in the other shoe!
Who has previously addressed messages to Antimony that were meant for some one else?
Hang on... A new treatise on Monday? It's the end of the chapter, and the end of the book?
That's one heck of a cliffhanger. (Even though it's probably robots)
SpoilerIf the robots did decide to send Kat a love letter, they may have gotten frustrated trying to find the Angel's room number (not thinking to search for her real name), so they gave up and mailed it to Annie, since the two of them are always hanging around each other.
But, given the fact that this is Gunnerkrigg Court we're talking about, it may turn out be a new, completely unexpected development. I guess we'll find out around two weeks from now, assuming treatise on Monday, "special stuff" after that, plus a new chapter page... It may take awhile.
Hmm, shouldn't Annie's father be cropping up sometime around now?
Like, onscreen, present-day? Because he's cropped up at least twice now, once via phone call in "Microsat 5" and once in that dream-thing in "Divine". (Of course, standard Zimmy protocols are in effect in "Divine", so grains of salt at the ready) However, given the events of "Divine", I wouldn't be surprised if he appears in person sooner or later.
Yeah, Kat's a robot.
Ok, so what can we see?
Spoiler
- Lots of eye symbols, on both sides--especially towards the top
- Top right: behind the eye (?), the jagged lime looks a bit... medical to me. Whether that's true or not, it doesn't fit in with the smooth, flowing shapes that normally represent the Forest.
- Top left: the ring thing looks familiar, but I can't place it. Anyone have any thoughts?
- Centre: a shadow-person and a robot-person holding hands. Shadow and Robot, or maybe even Annie and Kat?
- Ysengrin looks threatening... and the position of the rather creepy looking hand-thing holding onto Annie's hair looks like it might be his. But the hand doesn't seem to be a direct, violent threat; it could even be gentle and subtle and yet still very creepy and probably dangerous. Something from within the Forest reaching out to take Annie away.
- The twigs in Annie's hair are coming from inside her.
- The heart on LKat's shirt has a line through it, making it look like a STOP sign.
That's all I can think of for now... anyone else?
SpoilerThe creepy gray fingers are clearly coming from Anthony Carver, they are the same as those previously seen imprisoning Annie's True Self(the fire elemental which is the actual being, Annie and Surma appear to just be it's masks) and the heart symbol could be seen as a broken heart. A pretty girl refuses her advances perhaps? :smalltongue:
There are two people emerging from the circuits running out of the court. No such being is present in the roots of the forest.
More, stolen from the GKC forum:
Spoiler
1) that hand holding Annie's cannot be Kat's based on angle and skin color
2) the gray eye is microsat 5?
3) Flammarion Engraving
4) annie has no makeup on?
5) Reynard is entirely missing
6)Annie's hair is darker where the bones touch
SpoilerThe sleeve looks like that of a lab coat and the hand is covering Annie's as she rests it on Kat's arm, suggesting familiarity with both. Donald? Anja? Eglamore? No, probably not the latter...
The only thing I've got is, the markings on a peacock feather are said to represent one of the thousand eyes of the giant Argo; and Gamma said once that Zimmy dislikes the Tic-Toks because they are the Thousand Eyes.
Heck if I know what that means. :smallsigh:
If that grey eye is Microsat 5, what's it doing in the space beyond the sky, as in the Flammarion engraving?
SpoilerThere are various orders of angels that are described as "Wheels within wheels, covered with eyes," specifically the ophanim ('wheels').
Reynardine is notable by his absence.
Aw, that's nice. I am glad things are going better for him, there were times his depression sounded so bad it must have been crippling...
SpoilerThe top left wheel is covered with the symbol for a photoresistor.
Good to hear that things are working out for him. I'll make sure to buy some more of his awesome shirts as soon as I can afford it.

Dammit Tom.
What are Tea and What's-His-Name doing in the Arctic? Or Antarctic? Or somewhere with a lot of snow, anyway.
I'm quite liking these one page strips the cast are making. Rey's seems surprisingly introspective. I can hardly wait to see what Jones is going to do!
Oh goodness, that last pun is SO BAD!
By the way, I don't know if you guys knew this or not (I didn't until today) but there were 5 city face bonus strips this week - not three. Tuesday had Kat, and Thursday had a Robot/Shadow collaboration.
Blue has a nice drawing style.
Red doesn't.
This has to be a case of opposites attracting.
Best comic strip every:
I'm not sure that's Coyote's claw, I think he's got five digits and a different color scheme. Ditto, at least regarding colors, for the Tic-Tocs. I've got no idea who or what this could be. But the title is... ominous...
The people on Tom's comment thread (the one on the comic page) have suggested that this is Aly returning after numerous chapters of absence, but agree that the title is very ominous.
