Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
I knew that you, Fan, and Bahumet, at least, would be totally out.
I'm NOT recruiting right now anyway. I'm just getting a general idea if there is any interest.
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
To be honest, I dislike disallowing a genre on principle.
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
To be honest, I kinda like the idea of it. :smalltongue:
No offense intended, but when non-anime people interact with anime picks, it tends to get...heated. And, while other universes may cause the same trouble, I've noticed that it's Anime ones that cause the most.
Again, no offense intended, just something I noticed.
As for interest, count me in.

Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
@ HG: If I didn't have a group of players that agreed with the restriction, I wouldn't run the game.
Insanowar theme ideas:
* No anime: As previously mentioned, no picks from anime.
* All anime: As previously mentioned, all anime picks.
* No magic/superpowers/future tech: Every pick has to be quasi-feasible in reality. A group of goblins with crossbows and axes would be okay. A group of goblins with fey powers would not.
* Historical Insanowar: Every pick must be from history, perhaps with a limit on the number of picks from the 20th century.
* Matched teams: Every player would have to pick from a set of the same constraints. For example: Everyone must have one pick with a superhero theme, one with a fairy tale theme, one with a modern army theme, etc. The narrator would decide on the constraints, and the players could pick them in any order.
* Three teams: Six players. Each makes their picks, then the narrator randomly pairs the players off to make three teams. You don't know who your ally will be when you are making your picks.
If anyone is interested in running or altering any of the above, feel free. :smallcool:

<.<

I like the three teams idea, meself. I'd play in that, definitely.
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
That quasi-feasible in reality sounds interesting. It'd be much easier to gauge powerlevels and such. :smalltongue:
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
so at the moment we have
Project_Mayhem
Eternal Drifter
billtodamax
horngeek
Wolfbane
I post a thread within 24hr (at work now so cant) so pending Mod approval should be up soon.

Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Honestly, since I'm already in a game, and narrating another, I say try to find a different player other than me, one who isn't in a game yet. But, if none show up, I have no problem filling that slot if no one else wants to.

All of those except the Anime only one I would be very interested in.
*Likes some anime, but not an anime fangirl*

Sure, but, as a warning, I have to say I am quite ruthless.

I agree w/ Castaras. I'm already in a game that's like 4/5th's anime, and I don't really know ANY of the characters... :smallannoyed:
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
too true, which is not good as the side i attack is also the one i know least about.
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
An actual tactics based game like this would be interesting, with modern-ish weaponry or at least something the capabilities of which are detailedly written out. But that's probably just me. :smalltongue:
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
that would be incredible cool or incredible dull, so would love to see it given a go with some of the better writers (so I'm out but murska...)
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
<_<...>_>...
Okay, I am completely for joining in this. Whenever an spot opens. Till then, guess I'll just lurk.
But, yeah, put me down on the list for joining in.

Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
If you want in the game Robert is GMing, say so, and as I said, I'd be glad to step back and let someone else play since I'm already in a game, and GMing another.

Okey dokey then. I'm in!
Any special rules I gotta know about first? Or is it normal rules?
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
I'd be willing to join a game again. The last time my game didn't finish(partly my fault, but still...)
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
I think we're playing classic, but I don't know if it's reactive or the opposite of that.
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
I'd prefer it to be reactive (defender determines outcome, that is).
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Its the reactive varent, sorry if I was not clear
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
This is where we join up, right? I join up. *joins up*

Can I get an explanation of what this is?
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
This is the reactive variant. the thread has been sent in and we are just waiting approval (was sent in 12am sunday GMT, so wont be much longer)
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
All right. Now, to plan my picks... *laughs evily*
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Oh and KerfuffleMach2 you got wolfbanes place in this so...
-
Re: Insanowar Central/Sign up Thread
Come on, just because I picked the same team (mostly) for two insanowars doesn't mean I don't know how to pick 'normal' picks. I just keep getting thrown against Fan, and I like to keep having picks that can (in their own canon) fight his.
And i picked one non-anime pick! They haven't accomplished much yet, but they will!
