[Riss' Quarters]
"Oh." Does Mimi know how her own wings work? It's kinda instinct by now. It'd be like teaching someone to walk, and she has no idea how to do that either. "I could try. It'll probably be hard."

[Riss' Quarters]
"Oh." Does Mimi know how her own wings work? It's kinda instinct by now. It'd be like teaching someone to walk, and she has no idea how to do that either. "I could try. It'll probably be hard."
Riss' Quarters
Misha gets up, and heads for the drain. It's easiest to just let the water drain into there than soaking the floor again.
She turns into water, shedding her mass slowly and reforming into a mini-Misha, about Mimi's size but retaining her own shape and proportions, barring the wings and antennae.
"Maybe if you start off with flapping your wings slowly, so I can get the idea of how it's done?"
[Riss' Quarters]
Mimi flits over to Misha and lands in front of her. "Okay." The pixie turns around and starts slowly flapping her wings. "I have no idea how to do this. It's always parents that teach kids how to fly." She admits with a giggle.
Riss' Quarters
Misha gives a few flaps and a hop, giving herself some lift, but going nowhere. She takes a closer look at how Mimi's wings are angled, then tries to copy it and tries again. It's a slow process, and she's no expert, but she manages to hover for half a second on her next try, rather than a short, furtive jump.
She huffs and puffs a bit, despite not needing to breathe, "You're right, this is going to be tough. I think I see how you're doing it, but I'd need a mirror or something to get it right. That or a lot of practice. Maybe I'll just keep at it when Riss isn't around, and Archie isn't teaching us anything." At the least, it'll keep her interested.
[Riss' Quarters]
Mimi nods. "Yeah, lots of practice is the best idea. I can help you more if you want. You'll figure it out in no time if you do as good as you did just now." She says encouragingly.
Riss' Quarters
"You could fly around and show me some tricks I suppose. It'd give me a good idea of how you move while you're in motion, instead of just hovering. Maybe." She's not worried about doing well at this. All it takes is patience, and she's got plenty of time for it.
[Riss' Quarters]
"Right, sure. It's not like I have too much to do at the same time you'd be practicing anyway. Except for hang out with Archie." And get Riss her flowers, of course. Otherwise she'd might as well hang out with Misha.
Trisha's Cabin
The huntress looks shocked at Trisha and gently attempts to put her hand on her shoulder. "Did... did I say something wrong? Trisha?"
Trisha's Cabin
"Hate has called me." She admits with a sniffle as she gets to her feet, wiping away the tears. "Going to be a long one too. Four armies, massive war campaigns, and I'm facing off against three other Champions." Trisha tells Michicora as she takes a seat, unable to look the elf in the eyes. "This...this could take years."
Trisha's Cabin
The huntress blinks, a single question forming in her head, why? But she knew exactly why, since it was her duty. Since it was her purpose.
She would have done the same thing wouldn't she? If Kuori had called upon her? For the first time in her life Michicora felt doubt, would she have? She was on the verge on something new and then everything was going back to the same it was before again? Would she just go back to her village pretending none of this had ever happened?
No. A little voice which she recognized as her own said. She couldn't. She refused to.
"...I can't leave you now Trisha. Not like this." The elf says in a sorrowful voice. "Can't I go with you? I know there are risks but I take those every day. I want to fight by your side."
[The Flats House]
The moon, a day or two past full, glows bright and silvery blue in the vast, cloudless indigo sky. Out here, the nights are amazingly clear, out away from city lights.
There is some artificial light, though, out here specifically. Backed up to the side of a small mesa is a wide one-story house, dusty white and fairly pretty.
Some ground lights outside illuminate the rock pool enclosed by a wing of the building, but no lights on in the house.
[The Flats House]
And lo, up to the quiet, dark house walks a tall figure clad in black!
Walking up to the door.
And putting in a key...
...well, trying to anyway.
"Dangit, haven't changed the lock yet," Andy mutters, as she switches to her lockpicking tools. Bards don't leave home without them!
[Flats]
The lock is, honestly, a pretty mundane thing. She'll be able to crack it pretty quickly.
Inside, the house is (though a bit hard to see in the dark) a nice place, homey but looking as if it hasn't been lived in enough. Like all they've been doing recently is having someone come by every week to clean it up.
A few pictures are illuminated by a beam of moonlight; they are of Carrie back when she was mortal. Each shows her with a different woman; a dark-skinned lady with a dress like a flowing wave, a blonde with a gently hollow expression, and... well, Andy surely can recognize Ari when she sees her in a photo.
Riss' Quarters
Misha agrees happily, and gets to work. She's taking her sweet time, rotating the wings back and worth and feeling how they move, and only flapping once she thinks she's figured things out. Things are probably slow going, but she's willing to work at it until she at least manages a steady hover before Riss wakes up.
She's going to have a long way to go before she's zooming around at high velocity, but it's a start.
[Flats]
Aaaaand... cue the shotgun sound. That is, a heavy metallic chak-chik right behind her head.
Just who the hell are you and what are you doing in my house?
The woman's voice is cold, hard, and tight.
[Flats]
And Andy...doesn't appear surprised or concerned in the least!
Of course, she spends her time taunting deadly assassins...
"Hi, 'Scan. Knew you'd be here," she says, not only not answering the questions but no doubt adding more!
[Flats]
How do you know my name, how'd you get in, and again---who are you and why are you here?
Answer and when I kick your ass out of here, you might have two working legs.
The woman grinds her teeth, not happy about being toyed with.
[Flats]
"I'm tougher than I look. Faster, too."
Andy debated demonstrating that speed, but decided not to.
"My name's Andromeda. You can call me Andy. I got in here 'cause I knew you'd be here tonight. As for why and how I know you...well. Do you believe in time travel?"
[Flats]
That's how I got here---jumped timelines...
Hold on, Andromeda?
A light is flicked on, revealing a quaint white kitchen with a round table. Holding a shotgun is a woman Andy knows very well---well, a version or two of her. Her hair is silvery, her wings vulture-like, her eyes a pale sort of white-gold green. Her arms are scarred heavily, and the armbands she wears indicate more scarring.
She clicks on the safety, swinging the shotgun onto a wall rack.
... Let me look at you...
She steps closer, looking at her intruder's face and eyes with an interested expression.
[Flats]
"That's my name, wear it out all you want," Andy says, tilting her head as she's examined, a soft smile on her lips even as her eyes look sad - she looks like she wants to hug the other woman...
Andy happens to have mixed red and black hair to produce a rather stunning effect, greenish-blue eyes and currently happens to be wearing a plaid checked jacket over a plain white top, jeans, and hiking boots. And she has a set of bagpipes over her back.
[Flats]
Scainte stiffens after a moment.
... You're Patty's kid, aren't you?
She looks at her bare feet. Scainte herself is in a tank top and undies, revealing scars down her calves as well. She looks in her early 20s or so, but with a tiredness more befitting someone four times her age.
I loved your mother.
[Flats]
"I am," Andy says softly...and, not knowing what else to say, she tries to wrap her arms around Scainte and hug her tightly.
Fully expecting to be shoved away.
[Flats]
She hugs back tightly, her hands shaking.
There's a lot we have to talk about.
Should I get some tea on or something?
[Flats]
"I'd like that," Andy says quietly, squeezing before letting go, and stopping herself from offering to make tea herself 'cause, hospitality.
Trisha's Cabin
"Y-You'd do that for me?" Trisha asks, a bit stunned but more than a little hopeful. "I...I don't know how it'll turn out. If we'll win or lose, but I want you to be there with me. To have my back when we fight and to be in each other's arms when we aren't." She admits.
[Flats]
The silver-haired woman gets the tea going.
I've been here a few months but I haven't seen what HALO's like in this timeline... haven't been near the place in my own time for years.
Tell me about everybody... what are they like, what are they doing?
She looks at Andy, nervous and unsure.
[Flats]
"Well, see, things are kinda picking up, and I'm not the only one to have jumped time..."
And Andy will provide a rather full description of what's been going on at HALO!
She goes light on details about Carrie, though.
...but first she pats the couch next to where she's sitting for her new/old friend to sit.
[Flats]
She sits, bringing the tea with her.
Geez... that's nuts.
I remember things being a little like that...
I miss those days.
Scainte sighs and sips her tea.
[Flats]
"What happened?" Andy asks softly, sipping her tea and looking concernedly at her friend.
