What is the Lab?
The Lab is a station in Harald's home dimension. Most of it is dug into a mountain.
How do I get to it?
You get invited by Harald. The gateway is about twenty lightyears away.
Who lives there?
Doctor Harald is the only living resident, but the Lab is also home to Mastermind, the A.I. programmed by Harald, and a myriad of robotic and biotech servants, lab workers and guards.
Teleporters and Stuffs
Martyn appears. First thing he does is coat his body in magical armor, protecting him from physical and magical effects. Next he creates an icicle blade. He then walks looking for Harald. Where are you, Doctor?

The Doctor steps out from a control panel. He beckons.

Entering the biolab, Martyn will be amazed at the sheer size of it. The room is easily a mile long, and at least half that high and wide. Robots and strange, biotech lab-hands hurry around, conducting experiments and carrying materials.
The Doctor leads Martyn to a large, plant-like pod. It opens up, revealing tentacles and spikes on the inside, all dripping with a strange, viscous green fluid.
"This is the Remaker. It will break you down, analyse you and spin you a new body, greater than the one you wear now. The flesh I wear now is a product of this process. Enter it, and be reborn."
Martyn frowns and glares at the doctor. Oh well, he knew he was safe. Rage had something over the doctor. Good. He watches the biotech lab hands scurry about like weasels, and raises an eyebrow at the pod. Damage or wound you, and I will rip you to pieces. he steps in! :smalleek:Quote:

This room is fairly small, and mostly taken up by a large tank of electric-blue liquid, above which is a bench (one of the ones shaped like a body), and above that is a large machine with many arms, each of which ends in a blade, nozzle or other painful-looking instrument.
"You will be enhanced here beyond what any other could do. I use both traditional mechanics and biotechnology, as you have seen already, but I know how to mix and interweave the two, and how to introduce some... unusual... elements. Lie on the bench, and complete your remaking."
Labs
Martyn undresses quickly and gently rests and eases into the metal pod. He waits and breathes in heavily as it closes. He braces himself, and then feels pain as he's poked and stabbed. He groans. Not that bad. Then intense, searing pain as his body melts, and Martyn's screaming and shouting, writhing in intense pain. Then it's done..
Marty plops onto the floor and lies there, admiring his new body... No remnants reminding, no scars... Save for his eyes, still blue, one grey and lifeless. His hair is black on the right, white on the left. His face is cherubic, much like his old one... And there are still angles and shadows in his face that mirror Marty Acefords.
His body is thicker, stronger, muscular... He stands up, and moves to put on his black robes once more. He then follows Doctor Harold. Next?
[Enhancement Chamber]
((I think we may have got a little out of sync. Your last post reads like a response to the Remaker, but I had moved on to the Enhancement Chamber. I'm going to take it as read that Martyn gets onto the Enhancement Chamber bench, and go from there.))
When Martyn lies on the bench, Harald fixes him in place with various straps.
"This is going to hurt. A lot. The acid in the remaker? That's nothing compared to this. I can't give you anaesthetic, because it would ruin the bio-bonding process, and probably kill you. As it is, you have about an eighty-three percent chance of no lasting damage, fourteen percent chance of being crippled or brain-damaged and a three percent chance of death. However, I can fix most damage occurring from the implants - I've had to get good at it over the years - so in reality it's more like two percent to be crippled and six-hundredths to die. Anyway... let's get it over with."
Harald pulls a lever, and the bench descends into the tank of electric-blue. The machine comes to life, arms whirring, blades spinning, and begins to work on Martyn.
The agony is indescribable as it cuts him open, rips out parts of his nervous, circulatory and digestive systems and replaces them with metal and strange, purple bio-implants. The pain increases fivefold as the implants - especially the bio-implants - bond to Martyn's insides irrevocably - but worst of all is the cold deadness when his heart is ripped out and replaced with some strange, pulsating black globule of lab-grown flesh.
Finally, the process is over. Rage has retreated deep into Martyn's mind, but even without the spirit, Martyn is superhuman. He can see every pore in Harald's face, every hair on his arms, and every one of the uncountable rivets in the walls in minute detail. His skin is like iron, immune even to swords and axes - even minor explosions like grenades; his strength enough to throw cars without effort, his reflexes fast enough to catch a fly in midair, his stamina enough to let him sprint all day without tiring.
The internal implants grant other benefits - immunity to poison and disease, the ability to synthesise acid and spit it, an accelerated metabolism, speed and power of healing akin to Wolverine's healing factor (although not quite that strong), and a myriad of other things (feel free to improvise).
"You're done. Now we visit the weapons lab."
Martyn sits at the bench, and grimaces as he's strapped in and waits for the pain. He groans and braces himself. He groans at those odds. They were very high, but by the gods... This was going to hurt. He swallows and prepares himself as pain rockets through his body. Nothing could prepare him for this... He drops into a tank, this was unexpected. What is going on?! Organs are ripped open, and replaced. Blades whir and mix. Blood mixes with the tanks water, and organs are replaced. Entire systems mix and are reborn in metal and purple bio-engineering. Internally, Martyn is now mostly metal. He's a cyborg as well now. He groans and finally wakes up. The process finally over, thank the gods.
He flies out of the tank, through the metal floor right underneath Harald. Martyn is in a rage from the pain. He'll attempt to grab the doctor and lift him up, before throwing him gently against a wall. WARN ME NEXT TIME, DOCTOR. Or there will be NO next time. UNDERSTAND?! He growls before magically trying to lift Harald to his feet. Lead the way. Now.

Marty moves over to a glass case, ignoring other strange looking weapons. A glove in a case. A white, shining, glowing metal gauntlet. It has several buttons on it. Five to be exact, which each trigger different abilities.Quote:

The Power Glove grants that hand extra strength as well.
Martyn places the glove on his hand, and feels it bind and dig into his skin. Martyn winces. He wiggles his fingers and speaks. ....I like this.
"The Power Glove... an untested prototype. You'll never get that off without losing all the surface flesh of that hand. However, the good news is it won't malfunction, despite being, as I said, a prototype; I built it personally. Things I build don't malfunction."Quote:

Martyn taps at the powerglove and winces a bit. It was very tight... He then stretches his wrist and grins as each of his fingers on the glove allow sharp claws to slide out, which he can retract at will. He enjoys his weapon. So, Doctor.... Any other useful tools? Armor? Anything? I want more. Everything. Belts, pauldrons, helmets, armor... Equipment, or I'll take it all by force.

"Well... there's the Abomination..."
Harald shifts nervously, and leads Marty to a back corner of the huge Weapons Lab.
"It was... an experiment... from the early days of bio-mechanical fusion. I have never built any battlesuit to surpass it, but... it has a mind of its own. Literally. To control it, you have to constantly pit your will against the suit, and if you fail for one moment, you will be torn apart. To make matters worse, the suit is loathe to let you leave it - it enjoys killing and destruction, but can only perpetrate such things when being worn. Thus, it is far harder to leave the suit than control it... and it is very difficult to control. However, you are of ... like mind... to the suit, and it may well willingly allow you control... here it is."
Before them is a titanic suit of glossy white metal and grey flesh, interweaving so densely that it's easy to believe that they are part of a living organism. The thing is around four meters tall, and nearly as wide, with hulking arms and legs, a massive, armour-plated torso, and a head with red-glowing sensory arrays, constantly sniffing the air.
It's chained down.
When Martyn approaches, the Abomination shifts, straining against the chains that hold it. However, without a driver, it is weak and near mindless, and slumps back after a few moments.

But, sadly, Martyn disapproves. He glares at the creature, then to Doctor Harald. Then the creature, then back to Harald. He looks confused and a bit insulted. :smallyuk: plus :smallannoyed: plus :smallconfused:.
He speaks. Ah.... no. I don't think so. I don't like that. Meh. Next? I don't want some hulking thing.

Marty likes very much what he sees on the wall. Perfect white metal, shining like a Knight's platinum protection. He will move over to it, and gently caress the chestplate before using his telekinesis to have the armor fly off the rack and clasp around him, buckling and sliding into place.
Martyn very much likes this armor, moving and sliding his arms before levitating into the air and flexing his hands. He enjoys the pauldrons and heavy boots. I am the perfect combination of warrior and wizard. With magical might enough to destroy entire cities, and the strength to beat down all who appose me... Now, Harald.... Weapon. I want a sword. A sword to wield in case close combat is necessary. A helmet, and a cloak after. I want power. More power than any other. I want to be able to take down even the strongest of enemies. I shall only slay those who would kill those like I was. Those who pray on innocents. I shall destroy AMEN. I need weapons! NOW Harald!
Of course, Martyn is completely insane, so who he finds innocent tends to vary...
The armour flies from its stand and onto Martyn. He will feel the grey lab-flesh clasp firmly onto him. He will also feel a small prick on the back of his neck, and suddenly he will be linked to the armour. He will be seeing various diagnostic displays (armour integrity, estimated threat levels, power in the batteries, viable routes of movement [including where he can jump to with his armour-enhanced strength]) and can control it with his mind.
There is already a helmet on the armour - it is blank white, no face, but the neural link negates that necessity (also conveniently removing the opportunity for the much-used eyehole strike).
Harald will hand Martyn a stylish black cloak, lined with red velvet that conceals metal wires and circuits. It can project a forcefield capable of blocking both physical and magical attacks, and can also teleport the wearer short distances. In addition, it has antigrav coils, allowing a fall from any distance at leisurely speed with no damage.
As for weapons, the Weapons Lab is full of them. Harald will lead Martyn around, pointing out his favourites, explaining their uses and powers. One in particular will catch his eye - a great battleaxe, as tall as he is, with a blade made of the same shining white metal and a handle of some matt black substance. The non-blade end is, for the last thirty centimeters, slightly thicker and has small spikes on it, for pommel strikes. If he reaches out magically, Martyn will feel a strange deadness about it - it has no magical signature at all, not even that of an ordinary object.
Hm, okay... I'll need to update gear and such!
Marty smiles at his new outfit, and walks over to the axe. While it certainly looked neat, Marty was more interested in swords. Aaaaand, meh. Axe. Too wieldey, I want something one handed... Something I can use just in case, but I want it to be some kind of anti-magic device.

Harald explains how it is completely magically inert, making it immune to all magic and able to drain the powers of a spellcaster cut with it.
Marty lifts it up, and tests the weight and balance of the blade. So far, he likes what he sees. He balances it and flips it from hand to hand, before almost dropping it. This would be perfect... Now, do you have some kind of magic or science that will allow me to rapidly learn how to use it? I also want more items, Harald. Belts, boots, crowns, rings... All of it, understand? Alright... You have packages and such? Then yes, I want that. While I'm under, I want you to get me rings of Health, and I want you to get me guns. The most powerful you have. I'm going to need them. I also want more shielding technology and that kind of tech, understand? I want belts... I want rings, I want it all.
First, I want some kind of belt that will allow me to go invisible at will, to keep me safe and hidden. This belt is to be equipped with Numbfrost Grenades, to create those take a bit of my blood and infuse them, Numbfrost flows through me.
I want boots that will allow me to create shockwaves when I stomp. Those will be useful...
I want some kind of boosters for the telekinesis on my glove. I want to be able to bring down airplanes and such.
As for magic... I will be making a visit under disguise to Mallside and get myself some items.
Martyn will then go under the effects, and sleep.
Harald nods, and as Martyn drifts off, he will hear several beeps as Harald activates the machine. He will then walk off into other parts of the Lab to get what Martyn wants.Quote:

As for guns, Harald will procure a huge cannon replete with a harness that fits nicely over the armour. Martyn's non-Power-Glove arm goes inside it, where he can feel a trigger on his index finger, a slider under his thumb, which controls the power, and three buttons on his middle, ring and little fingers (for laser, sonic and grenade-launcher modes respectively).
The invisibility belt is another no-go, being magic, but while Martyn is asleep, Harald will alter the armour to include a special lightbending field that twists light rays around him so that it looks like he isn't there (although it does cause a distortion rather like a heat haze).
Shockwave boots are magic again, but the DGFP can do earthquakes via slamming the ground, so Harald adds another one into the boots, tuned to send a shockwave downwards when Martyn stamps his foot.
Harald has also got a laser-beam ring, a truth-serum ring and a poisoned ring, which he gives to Martyn, and the Numbfrost Grenades are loaded into the cannon mentioned above.
Finally, for shielding, Harald installs a third DGFP in the armour's torso section, projecting a repulsive field that will block any projectiles (arrows, bullets, missiles, shrapnel etc.). It is also worth noting that the lightbending field will send laserbeams around Harald, as lasers are made of light.
When Martyn wakes, he will have comprehensive knowledge of martial arts and swordfighting, and Harald will explain all the modifications and gear he's made/brought while Martyn was unconscious.
Martyn wakes up and pulls his sword out of the air. (He's actually summoning it from Hell, in Rage's pit or wherever he sleeps.) He swings it through the air with great strength and balance, ducking and doing a fancy backflip with the blade, even though he had just gotten up. I like.... I really do... I might just keep you. I shall call it "Fading Hope". My sword. Beautiful in it's cruelty... And thank you my pet scientist. I appreciate this all... Anything else you could give me? I will be in battle with very powerful foes... I need missiles or some such thing. I plan on attacking Remnant eventually.

It's a model of spaceship I use in my... space combat games, but it's scientifically sound and I've had one built for you. Harald will go on to explain how the H-3 has eight high-power fusion lance batteries (capable of burning through five meters of titanium bulkhead in one second at a distance of a thousand kilometers with pinpoint accuracy), three missile launchers (two forward, one aft, each with a payload of twenty high-explosive missiles, five incendiary and two gravitic [which can be set for explosive or implosive force, or to generate a static field holding everything in place]), and a bomb bay holding eight fusion warheads (about as powerful as ten nukes each).
The H-6 has two fusion cannons and one high-explosive missile launcher with payload of six. It is equipped with high-power inertial dampers to allow the most death-defying manoeuvers while maintaining 1G, and can sustain five kilometers per second flight speed.
Finally, he will take Martyn to an outer airlock where the H-3 is docked. It is computerised to allow Martyn to pilot it alone, and will respond only to an order in Martyn's voice, with Martyn's biometrics on the inbuilt scanners, and Martyn's quantum signature (a unique pattern everyone holds on the quantum level).
OK, Martyn is dead, so let's change some stuff around.
One, Harald goes back to the Nexus.
Two, Mastermind breaks.
Three, Harald is stranded.
Four, his extradimensional pockets no longer work.
