Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.

However, they pass through a very dense fog and enter Equestria, just south of Ponyville, which is in the distance. The Mongols decide to invade. They have the high ground initially, and the element of surprise.
How badly to they get trounced? What will Celestia do to the Mongolian Generals if they do their normal MO's slash and burn? How much dark sinful lulz would the looks of their faces be when they get the royal smackdown? (That is the Mongols.)

Re: Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.
Is this going to become a trend? These "What if pony" questions should really be in ponythread...
The Mongols will probably kill plenty of ponies in the first few engagements, but in the long run they will be cremated. Pegasi controlling weather means they can make storms wherever the Mongols are (lightning and high winds, the lightning kills people, the wind makes their bows useless). Drop some tornadoes down in the middle of their ranks and put snow in front of them to slow their advance, and retract your own population to Canterlot (which is wonderfully situated on the side of a cliff).
I would go so far as to say that even guns aren't going to work well in Equestria, much less horse-archers. Remember, the Nazi's were stalled by winter in modern times. The wreckage of an invading medieval would be total and complete.

The Mongols bribe the ponies with whatever ponies like, get some pegasus horse archers, go back to Earth and conquer.

Elegant. I like it.

Re: Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.
Not to mention Princess Celestia and her sister Luna are actual gods.
Not god-like, but actual gods.
I think in the end Genghis will bow down and worship her holiness.

Wiki:
The wind horse is an allegory for the human soul in the shamanistic tradition of Central Asia. In Tibetan Buddhism, it was included as the pivotal element in the center of the four animals symbolizing the cardinal directions and a symbol of the idea of well-being or good fortune. It has also given the name to a type of prayer flag that has the five animals printed on it.
The national emblem of Mongolia:

Logical conclusion:
Sorry guys, no versus. As soon as the army sees talking flying ponies, they'll all get off their steeds and start praying.
Edit: In fact I'm ready to start thinking that the OP's situation actually happened.
Edit 2: Be proud, guys. The Golden Horde were also bronies.

Wow... Just, wow.
"On prayer flags and paper prints, windhorses usually appear in the company of the four animals of the cardinal directions, which are "an integral part of the rlung ta composition": garuda or kyung, and dragon in the upper corners, and tiger and snow lion in the lower corners.[5] In this context, the wind horse is typically shown without wings, but carries the Three Jewels, or the wish fulfilling jewel. Its appearance is supposed to bring peace, wealth, and harmony. The ritual invocation of the wind horse usually happens in the morning and during the growing moon."

Re: Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.
That's the third "what if X and Equestria...." thread you started. Maybe give it a rest? I don't mean to be rude, but I think one thread is enough, seeing as how all have only one or two pages.

Re: Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.
What, FIM ponies also have gemstones or something?
I guess we'll have more of a chance of Robin fighting Batman.
No wait, that actually did happen...
-
Re: Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.
The first episode, at least, shows the main cast wielding magical jewels, "elements of harmony", to restore peace and balance to the world.

Re: Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.
It would take awhile for the Equestrians to form an opposition, considering that a group of young girls can combat more threats then their standing army. Between access to magic, racial unity, and the control of the weather I'm sure the barbarians would have to fall back eventually.:smallamused:

The centaurs?
80% of them with at least some Khan's genes.

Re: Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.
Someone clearly installed the Civ V Equestria mod recently... :smalltongue:
-
Re: Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.
Wait what's this about centaurs?
There are centaurs in FIM??

I believe it was a squicky joke was about how the Great Khan created a nation in more ways then conquest.

Re: Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.
Here, we go chaps, the most probably result of said thread question, as rendered by Ponythread, at my suggestion...!
Warning: What follows is Stupidly Awesome (or possibly Awesomely Stupid depending on why side of the Pony/nonPony you fall into...!)

It's almost as aweome as that idea I had where in an alternate universe, Julius Caesar learned how to become a Naruto-style ninja and kicked everyone backsides on the Ides of March with his awesome jutsus (all while wearing his toga plus the laurel wreath...)

Re: Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.
I'm not exactly a fan of ponies, but that's stupidly awesome nonetheless.

Re: Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.
We'd get some new Epic Rap Battles of History/Equestria Crossover action, for starters.

Clearly we need to set them up against WH40k and/or the Culture...

Re: Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.
The only Pony crossover that makes sense is Poniez/Nanoha.
The Befriendings would be legendary.

40K would be the extermination of pony life.
Culture would lead to a brony phenomenon that would cross the entire galaxy.

Generally they would be killed yeah.
Though I could see Equestria being declared a Deamon world and being left alone as a possibility. Or ponies ending up being the bane of Chaos due to being able to physically wield Harmony.

Re: Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.
Horses are incredibly valuable to the mongol society. Killing ponies would be like putting all your money on a pile and burning it.
Talking horses are probably less 'Ghengis Khan makes a military decision' and more 'Ghengis Khan calls up all his shamans, religious advisors and holy men and asks them what the hell'.

For this reason I could see them becoming allied with other anti-Chaos factions, possibly. I mean hey, no doubt the God-Emperor of Man used to ride a horse in the olden days.

Re: Genghis Khan's armies accidentally invade Equestria.
That's sorta the point. The sheer, unexpected, and borderline unbelivable levels of Awesome the Ponies generate is in the Batman, Chuck Norrise/ Conan the Barbarian levels.
