I figure it's gonna end up in a big showdown between the Marines, the fakes and the Straw Hats. Luffy gets to beat down Sentomaru, Franky and maybe Sanji get a Pacifista, and maybe Vice Admiral Momonga will show up in time to lose a swordfight to Zoro. The fakes and their rookies will be utterly crushed between them.
Alternatively, the real Luffy will beat all the fakes before the other Straw Hats or the Marine reinforcements even arrive, which would be hilarious.
I refuse to accept "normal" as description of a guy who started out being able to wield a sword with his mouth and throw buildings around - and only went upwards from there. This is One Piece, anyone who can reasonably be described as "normal" is so far from Badass that they couldn't see it with the Hubble Telescope :smallwink:
I consider himself "normal" in the sense all his abilities comes from hard work and training even the wield sword with his mouth (I recall a scene of young zoro training with weights in his mouth). Also the throwing a building didn't come till the Arabasta arc, and well if they were in the grand line after some months (?) of navigating I think they had surpassed most of the run of the mill pirates, even the ones who managed to get to the Grand Line

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
Zoro is about as normal as named characters get in One Piece -- the real normals, like the fighting cooks of the Baratie and the various pirate crews, don't match up to him at all.

Nah, Usopp and Nami are way more normal.

I'm not sure. Sure he's (a lot) stronger, but does he shoot lightning? No.

Nami and Usop do improbable things via special gadgets.
Zoro has enough raw strenght to swing a sword so hard to cut through steel and create enough air resistance to heat up his blade to thousands of degrees.
Who are more normal, again?

When did Zoro do that?

Better yet, Zorro has enough force of will to create the illusion of 2 additional heads, and 4 additional arms that are real enough to cut you.

Nami would be debateable I think. Of the whole crew, she's still the most normal from what I see. Her navigational skills are exceptional, but not superhuman. (And now to watch how the next few chapters disprove this!)

Nahh, i do think Usop would take the prize as the most normal member so far.

Pre-timeskip I would have agreed, but from what we've already seen I'm convinced he has grown enough that his statement of no longer being in what he called "the loser trio" is completely true.
I'm definitely going to wait for Usopp to snipe someone from a mile away or further.

Sorry, but my definition of normal is rather more along the lines of "does things that an actual, real life normal person could do". John McClane is a normal guy who's nonetheless badass. Zoro, on the other hand, was able to train to do completely impossible things right from the start of the series (throwing a building in Alabasta was before any of his later power-ups) and has gotten more and more impossible ever since, much like Sanji has. I don't care whether you achieve superhuman abilities through training, birth or magical powerups, they're still superhuman.

Nami so far had a more abnormal weapon than Usopp did, but otherwise she never actually showed any skills that are beyond the humanly possible. Usopp's aiming skills were already passing by the "normal" boundary at Enies Lobby, and now he added some rather less than normal weaponry as well.
Still, they're probably the most "normal" people left among the Straw Hats.

When fighting Ryuuma the Dragon Slayer, Zombie possessed by Brook's shadow. He struck so hard his blade created a dragon of blue flame.

Effortlessly, I might add.

Yes, that too is noteworthy.

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
A good chapter, but I'm hoping we get to see what the rest on the Straw Hats are truly capable of. If you want to count Nami and Usopp's display at the bar an indication of their new strength, that means we still haven't seen what Frankie, Brook, Chopper or Robin are capable of.

Zoro. Zoro. ZORO! :smallmad: :smallwink:
Yeah, the Pacifistas have now definitely been Worfed. Who knows, maybe the Marine reinforcements from G1 will arrive in time to give the crew a fight. Right now, the only one whose strength might possibly matter compared to the Straw Hats is Sentomaru, and she's all by herself (sorry, himself, but he sounds AND looks so much like a woman it's hard to think of hir as male).

Sorry, ar we talking about the same character? In what Oda-verse does he look like a girl? o.o
Also, yay, new chapter. So the time to take out Pazifistas is the new measure for characters' power.

Actualy, Nami had shown off her abnormal weather sense and navigation skills a couple of arcs before that happend.

Woman's face + Sumo-Body (gender-neutral) with a leotard (VERY unmanly) = looks like a woman.

Shonen Jump disagrees. I'm going with the official English dub.

I'm going to stray from the norm and say that Brook is the most normal.
Sure he's a liking skeleton, but that was because of Devils fruit. Other than his lack of flesh, he is a normal musician, who plays high-quality music.

That was before his music gained the power of a siren's song.

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
Sanji needs to stop wearing yellow and get back to wearing blue.
-
Re: One Piece -- Discussion
Come to think of it, Sanji is probably the most normal. Sure his kicks are really strong but it's not like he's using his mouth to wield a blade, sniping from huge distances with a slingshot or using lightning to decimate his opponents.

One of his techniques involves generating so much friction that his leg bursts into flame.

None of the members of the monster trio are normal in any sense of the word, Sanji has crushed stone and bend metal with his kicks, things that should have shattered every bone in his legs.
