The KoJ then demonstrate the Dreen to be fatally uncompressable, and ranking scary thing on the field.
The Dreen even have the awesome and terrible power (to a Jager) of instantly recovering their hats after a massive attack.
I'm thinking this would make toasting the now scarily established Dreen with the lightning stick lance the perfect proof of concept, and a great way for the Lady to re-establish battlefield dominance.
All wild conjecture of course.
(And what better way to flirt with Gil than to show him what she can do with his stick?)
Great, now you got me thinking of the Summon Bigger Fish song.

Yup. Completely irrelevant. Could, just as easily be achieved with just a bomb hitting the tower.

Yes, because obviously now that she's used it once she'll never use it again. So the last four pages were completely pointless. Oh, wait, that would be a completely ridiculous thing to think. Silly me.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
She never has used the ultra lazer since. "HEYOOOOOOOO"
Point is Chocken has perfectly stated my problem. I wouldn't have such an issue if it didn't teeter toter on comedy and drama so easily. Thats on thing I HATE in mspaint.
Also consistent proportions would be nice.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Oh man I hope that wasn't the observation tower they wanted to go to. And that no one was in it when it fell.
I love the range of expressions. From Mamma's palm to brow "Oy" to Van's (ah, he's joined the fun) "PROPERTY DAMAGE!!". Moloch's fatalism is, however, best of all...
Even better than Agatha's "Uh..."

In fact, that was pretty much the whole point of the strip (and Moloch's snarky comment).

Dimo's eye-rolling is a nice touch to. Something tells me it's not the first time one of the Heterodynes have had a problem like this.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Well, we've certainly established that a) Agatha is The Heterodyne with her incredibly overbuilt weaponry and b) she hasn't quite got the hang of dialing down the power of her inventions/modifications.
Interesting possibility, maybe The Heteodyne can't dial down the power of their inventions/modifications. Ever.
So, Agatha took out everything in her path to the observation tower plus the observation tower (which had at least one person up top when it started to fall, but maybe it was a Jaeger or an enemy, in which case, they're either all right or it doesn't much matter).
As may be remembered, shortly before the Doom Bell rang, we'd been told by the Foglios that Agatha was leaving Mechanicsburg soon. It's almost a year later and I'd guess that we're just about at that point. We just didn't think that Agatha would accidentally level the place herself.
For a slightly different reading of the last panel:
here
Moloch is unfazed.
Tarvek and Agatha are dismayed that she had the setting just a leetle bit too high.
In ascending order, the unnamed jäger, Oggie, Maxim, Van and Violetta are in varying degees of shock.
Mama has just remembered how The Heterodyne's devices usually work out.
Othar is starting to remember that Agatha IS a spark, who must ultimately die and Dimo has his eyes on Othar, just waiting helpfully for Othar to do something stupid (such as attack Agatha), so he can jump all over him.
Compare Dimo's expression in the current comic with the his expression in the last panel here.

In the larger storry wise perspective maybe, but for the purpose of setting this gag, nope.
(Not that I'm not agreeing a lot of sequences have been overdrawned since.. well pretty much since the start of Mechanisburg, but meh here, just for these expressions on the last pannel that was worth it for me.)

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
LOVE Dimo's eye-roll.
He's been around, and he's seen this kind of thing before, no doubt.
It might be time to start taking down the Baron's fleet. Don't hit Castle Wulfenbach, but force a retreat.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
I think Agatha just learned an important lesson about the battle (both short and long term) not just being about making things bigger/faster/more powerful.
-
Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
I think Aghata mostly learned an important lesson about looking where you're aiming before pulling the trigger here :smalltongue:

Launching her inside a building? :smalltongue: Or finding a heterodyne flying clank/monster/device/whatever?
Ohh, how about a laser-stick jump?

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Sorry to disapoint but while it's the good balloon shape (which is shared by different Hetrodyne mosters), it's not the same font as far as i can tell. It's likely supercharged Franz talking here, so no crazy ballistic shenanigan just good ol fashioned dragon riding.

"Nize shot!"
Are the jaegers referring to Agatha's hitting the tower, or Moloch von Zinzer's snarky comment? ( "...one you not attached to?" )

Did you notice that people's hair and clothing is not affected by the rain at all? Even since it seems to be a really heavy rain.

I think the clothing *is* affected--Violetta's dress and Othar's jumper don't normally look that glossy, for instance. You're right about the hair, though.
