I thought it was supposed to be Van Helsing after everything the players did to it. I don't think we ever got enough to tell though.

It was a strange mash-up of Van Helsing ("What was that stuff about Pete being the Archangel Gabriel?" "By that point I was just making up the dumbest stuff I could think of.") and Twilight ("And Vampires do not sparkle in the daylight!")
Knowing Annie, I doubt it would have been that straight forward.
What she probably did was a Hunter gamer, but with the vampires depicted as tortured agonised souls, bemoaning the loss of their humanity, with the players forced to examine their consciences about whether these 'evil vampires' are actually deserving of being run to ground like mindless beasts.
Pete probably went "They sparkle in daylight? Cool, I should get a +2 to hit as they're brightly illuminated!" and went to town with a flamethrower.
OK, who is who now? Pete is still R2-D2, but who are Leah, C3PO and Captain Antilles?
In order: Annie, Sally, and Jim. Jim has a poor knack for picking characters. I mean really: Qui-Gon: Killed by lightsaber. Padme: nearly assassinated in Attack of the clones, then died for real in Revenge of the Sith. Antilles: Choked by Darth Vader.
I wonder who Jim's going to pick once Antilles dies?
Yeah, I really want to know who's going to be Luke and who's going to be Han.
The obvious thing would be to make Jim Han so they can continue the Jim/Annie relationship, but I think it might make for a more entertaining story with Ben as Han and Jim as Luke.
Which one was Anni again in the last campaign? Anakin?
Ben could be Luke and Jim become Han, but Ben as Luke would be a bit booring I think. But Ben as Han would just be weird.
I guess since Antilles dies rather son (iirc correctly, I'm really not that sure) it'd make sense for Jim to soon have a new character, Luke, while Ben plays his old character until his death and than switches too the recently(ish) appeared until then NPC Han. But it could go the other way round as well, I assume. If Ben changed to Luke, who's an NPC before he'd stay a jedi, which kind of makes sense.
I still think it's weird the GM would play Vader but meh. Maybe Annie will play him in Return at least?
Maybe Ben does play Han and plays him as a calm and reasonable guy. That certainly would be interesting.
I apologize for pedanticism, but the white-robed woman is named Leia (the two are not always pronounced the same, and it can get confusing.)
On-topic, I wonder how Obi-Wan is going to be handled. After all, he WAS a PC in the previous campaign, and his player will be needing a new character soon. It would be quite interesting if Luke started as an NPC with Jim playing Kenobi, then moving to Luke at theDeath StarPeace Moon.
Cap Antilles is about to die. He'll be Luke.
Blast. Well, I was wrong.
Will they not even get a new player or two?
Luke being an NPC until Obi-won dies would be tricky I think, a fair amount of the beginning is just Luke with R2 and C3PO. Seems it would be awkward with having only Pete and Sally as active PCs (especially since there are at least four present players at the moment).
If Anne is Leia, I wonder how she is going to work being absent for a fair chunk of the game while everyone else rescues her? Unless she continues playing Vader on the side, and I can definitely see that happening (which would then make the Anne/Jim relationship even weirder if he plays Luke XD )
I say they skip the start of luke, and call the whole thing until they meet han and chewie his backstory. Annie is luke, only because I can totally see her trying to share this epic start to her characters life while the others kind of drown her out so they can move on to killing stuff.
I'll doubt they'll do that, if only because of Luke's scenes before that with R2D2 and C3PO (and possibly Ben Kenobi as well).
Though honestly I see it more likely that Jim takes Luke once Antilles dies, with Ben still using Obi-Wan for now, possibly taking over Han later.
Han being the voice of reason for a crazy Luke would certainly be fun. And given how Jims interpretation of wise and sensible characters is one of the comics greatest appeals, I think that'll be quite likely.
But obi-wan and Han have a couple of scenes together.
Can't wait for Sally playing Greedo. I'm quite sure that'll be another of her creations.
Han could be a NPC when the PC's first meet him.
It's been done with Padme...
But with Sally playing C-3PO again, what will be done with Yoda?
Will she play him for the few scenes he's in?
Sally had a lot of smaller roles in the prequels, but C-3PO isn't exactly a small role in Episode IV.
It's impossible to see Han Solo's actions on the Death Star as anything but those controlled by a PC...
All of which happens however before Obi-won dies however.
Jim played Kyle Katarn? Cool.
It now seems vary unlikely Jim will play Luke since he is banned from lightsabers so I'm going to guess he is Han and Ben will be either Obi-Wan till he dies or Luke with Obi-wan as an NPC. As Vader is most likely an NPC it wouldn't be a surprise.
Heh, so they played Jedi Knight inbetween the two episodes 3 and 4? Pretty cool. I'm guessing we'll see the DM notes of that campaign sometime in the future.
I'm already loving the new series
The Kyle Katarn from Dark Forces wouldn't need a lightsaber to single-handedly clear out all the stormtroopers from a Star Destroyer. :smalltongue:
Neither would the one from Jedi Knight, truthfully. The lightsaber there was mostly for boss fights and secret doors.
In 2 and 3, the lightsaber was the only thing you'd ever need.
Are there even that many secondary characters in the Dark Forces saga for the rest of the group? Kyle's love interest and Luke are the only ones I can really think of unless we want to go into the antagonists.
