I approve of this if people are acting snobbish towards you being all spy like

2 random observations from Merasmus map:
One hilarious, when he pushed me with his stick into that jawed chasm... Only to pull me up to safety with followup throw upwards when I was good 50 metres in. I rewarded him with arrow to thekneeface in thanks
One sad, when I used perfect positioning to headbomb him into the same chasm only to find out that jerk flies. Life is not fair :smallfrown:
Did someone try to send me a message on Steam? I got the notification on my phone, but because the Steam mobile is terrible, it didn't tell me who sent it or what it said.
Only one arrow? You call that snoipin'? :smalltongue:
What do you expect ofQuote:

a mediocrean all-powerful wizard? Making contact with the ground is beneath him. So is the ground itself.
Do you only get the voodo bits(like the voodo cursed skeleton) on the Merasmus map?
I wasn't done yet, mate, not by a long shot http://i.imgur.com/N2nfK.jpg
Nope, you get one every time you get normal item, but on Merasmus map you can get 5 of them in gift.
Today I got on a server where everyone actually cooperated and focused on Merasmus once he appeared. Unfortunately, we still couldn't beat him. :smallyuk: We got him below half his health each time, but he always got away.
Let me guess, less than half Huntsmen? :smallwink:
Well, yes. There were two or three snipers on my team most of the time, and I was one of them.
Meramus has 50k health and then additional 5k health per person. So for a 10 on 10 he has 150k, 50k base then 100k for 20 people.
That means you have to be doing at least 5k to break even, more then that to contribute to killing him.
The Huntsmen is viewed as best, as you can get 1080 per hit when he is stunned, 5 of them and you are already helping.
Then at half health he flees, hides in random objects that spawn, the server needs to spread out to find him quickly and then get back on killing him. He may do this again when he is around 10% health, once he did and once he didn't.
In a random server, I have managed to kill him twice, in a 32 person server where over half were huntsmen . That was also back to back on that server, I have never managed to kill him again outside of a server that was dedicated to killing him (20 people, all huntsmen, all working on him).
9. Enjoy votekickban http://i.imgur.com/N2nfK.jpg
10. Avoid votekickban by playing on servers not dedicated to killing him.
I actually find more enjoyment in well, playing the game mode as a goofy hectic king of the hill with random effects thrown in rather then a grind session. But that's just my opinion.
Where does one find these dedicated Merasmus-killing servers? I've been trying for several days to get to Skull Island, but I can't even kill a single wizard.
For those who have been doing math (ugh) on various loadouts vs Merasmus, sharpen you calculators. New update increased damage for 2/3 of all the classes
I have now killed the wizard, but only managed to get to the hat on skull island once.
There are some mother<bleeper>s out there.
Now I have on sale a haunted scarecrow, a normal one, a scout, demo and pyro soul (not-haunted) and lots of crates.

So, has anyone else been having fun with the CS:GO free weekend?
I particularly liked it when I got fed up with being unable to join any sort of match, and decided that at least playing with bots may be fun, only to be denied the experience because the game says that I don't own it.
I tried it out, ended up waiting 15+ mins for a match, 5 on 5.
After learning that I can't scope on assault weapons :smallannoyed: I did alright, then someone drops into 3 rounds into 30 :smallannoyed: Then I started doing very well (Been a while since I played a stereotypical FPS), more people dropped as the other team was winning most matches.
I ended up with 4 bots against 4 people and a bot, I still one a round or two, but ultimately lost because of lack of time playing, different play style (I really love looking down scopes for example in most FPSs), and its 4 on 1 basically.
So I spent about 2 hours on it and have not touched it since. Its a good game once you get used to it, but the long wait times makes me not want to play it and thats what people are saying on the Steam forums as well.
Back to BF3 for my realistic FPS fix, where I can join a 64 player server in a min and where I can scope in, and then dominate most servers :P
we have a separate thread for trading now.
That's your fault. Use the server browser.
I find it odd that you're complaining about the lack of iron sights. I personally find them really irritating, as they slow down the gameplay drastically. We should go back to the olden days of Quake, where your gun was in the center of the screen. Why aim down your sights when you're always centering your gun?
Counter-strike is unlike any game you've ever played, if you've never played a Counter-strike title. If you try and play it like Call of Duty or Battlefield, you will die very quickly.
Maybe Counter-strike just isn't for you. Understandable, though you should give it more time than you did to see just how much fun it really is.
Battlefield 3 isn't realistic though. If you want a realistic FPS, try ArmA II. It's free (though it looks like arse) on the PC. Battlefield 3 lets you regenerate health. In ArmA II, if you fall from a sufficient height, you'll break your shins. Hit the water from high up, and you'll fall unconscious (and drown). Get shot in the arm, and you'll start to bleed out. Battlefield 3 is fun, though it's not a realistic game in any way (if you say bullet drop, keep in mind every bullet is a tracer, which is not how it works).
Either way, I'm disappointed that you refuse to try CS:GO for more than 2 hours under the claim that it's unrealistic. Of course it's unrealistic; that's the point of the game. If you suck, you keep playing and get better.
I'm going to cut short a lot of comments as I don't want to make a post longer.
Yea I should have used the server browser, but its been a while since I played CS and wasn't sure what to look for in servers, in the games I do play I tend to only look for certain things when looking for a server to join, if its BF3 or TF2 so rather then spend time I went ahead and read the Steam forums about the game before I found a match using the system Steam provided.
Judging by what I read I am not the only person who experiences the long wait time and it was apparently broken by a recent update, which is a shame but assuming they fix it somehow, its not a big deal.
I did play CS, I played a fair amount of CS: Source back, years ago. Its been years though, and I have forgotten a few things about it. I know its different style of game, and I admit, I needed a reminder about that when I first loaded up CS. But I think I adapted well.
I like the iron sights and scope because it normally gives me a bit more of a zoom in which I trust more then not, of course that does depend on the game and I can adapt.
I should have defined realistic in my last post. I was not meaning to imply BF3 was realistic, but rather more realistic then TF2 which has been the FPS I have been playing in the last few weeks. I should have out right compared it to TF2 instead of using the term Realistic, I am sorry for the confusion.
I also should have made it clear I have spent some time playing Dust back on Source, and I did enjoy it a lot, not a style of gameplay I am best at, but I did enjoy it back years ago and I did want to see how the game is today. So I am not new to the series.
I figured out the Aug had one after most of the match was over by spectating a team mate. I couldn't find other guns besides the obvious snipers.
I ended up using a few of the basic guns and the Aug when I had the cash, which was hard to come by due to the lack of wins and what I figured to be needed purchases like armor. I remember I always got armor back in CS Source.
I did play a new mode to the game that award guns based on performance, which was interesting. I will most likely play a few more hours tomorrow morning before the free time ends.
Bizon + Five-SeveN = GG
No need to equip your knife when both of your weapons let you move only just 2% slower than the knife.
So what's the highest level of Merasmus people have killed? I got 11.
