[Not-So-Abandoned Warehouse]

((Maeve currently feels much the same way Khair does. At some point in the past, it's possible she could have had/did have some romantic feelings for her, but they weren't all that strong at the time, and in the absence of any encouragement from Khair, they faded; were it to come up for some reason, she wouldn't be averse to trying out a relationship with Khair, but she doesn't really have any particular desire to do so, either.))
They have indeed settled onto a couch, and Maeve will be perfectly happy to pet her friend and scratch her ears until Khair tires of it.
[Maeve's]
Khair eventually rolls over to face up, then sits up.
This is the best I've felt in a long time.
[Maeve's]
Maeve smiles at her, nodding.
"I feel the same way. And I'm glad I could do something to help make your day better.
Also... I'm sorry I haven't been able to do more things like this for you."
[Maeve's]
It's okay... things have been tough on us, so we haven't been able to do these things. It's not your fault.
She hugs her friend tightly.
[Maeve's]
Maeve returns the embrace, nodding again.
"I know, but... You still deserve better, and I wish I could give it to you. I know why I haven't been able to, but that doesn't mean I don't feel bad about it."
[Maeve's]
The fact that you want to is enough for me.
She purrs louder, nuzzling her cheek.
[Not-So-Abandoned Warehouse]
The warehouse hasn't changed much, though some clothes are scattered around for some odd reason. Ashley is still in the main room, whistling as she looks through a shelf for some eggs. She glances back and notices that Ally's awake now. She grins. "Morning, babe."
[Maeve's]
The catgirl pulls down her mask to whisper in her friend's ear; it's her usual pleasant murmurings, only half in Common.
[Maeve's]
Maeve murmurs back appropriate responses to as much of it as she understands.
[Maeve's]
Khair smiles and curls up again, ready to sleep.
[Maeve's]
Maeve, having slept on far less comfortable things than a couch, has no real intention of moving if Khair is fine with falling asleep here, and likely dozes off shortly as well.
[Maeve's]
Khair will most likely still be fast asleep by the time her friend awakes, curled up and content.
[Maeve's]
Maeve smiles, snuggling closer and singing softly to herself as she waits for Khair to wake up.
[Maeve's]
Eventually, Khair wakes, stretching.
Sleep alright?
[Maeve's]
Maeve smiles, nodding.
"I slept fine. You're very soothing..."
[Maeve's]
Glad I was able to help...
[Maeve's]
She nods, starting up her purr again.
[Maeve's]
Maeve smiles, going to absorb whatever pain Khair is feeling again, though this time, the effects might be a little more noticeable, since the skin on the human's arm starts to split and blister as she does.
[Maeve's]
Khair shakes her head rapidly.
Please, don't do this to yourself.
[Maeve's]
Maeve sighs, but, reluctantly, stops.
"I can handle it, Khair... You deserve to not hurt sometimes..."
[Maeve's]
I'm used to it. You deserve not to suffer for my sickness, especially when you're the one keeping us off the streets and out of starvation.
[Maeve's]
"The difference is, I choose to take on your pain. You have no choice in whether or not you hurt."
