Re: Murphy's Law (Thread The Third!)
Why oh why did we have to cut away from Janine and the two elves?
WHYYYYYYYY?!
Oh wait, I think I know the answer to this one. >.>

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread The Third!)
OK, Coffee...
Seeing as you come from the Crack Pairings thread, this won't seem like that shocking of a request...
I ask for a tribute to one of the best CP stories that has been written.
This school has lots of elves, but also orcs, kobolds, and most importantly...goblins.
Have a background image of a purple-haired elf and a goblin making out.
EDIT: Upon turning my computer off, I realized exactly how "One of my friends is part goblin." Ninja'd by the new comic, of course.

The next update will be tomorrow. I strongly suggest that you reread Comic #42.

Yep, that's the line I suppose coffe was refering to

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread The Third!)
Coffee, I gotta say, Comic 44 was probably one of my favorites. I couldn't stop laughing... The setup for that joke was great, the execution was perfect, the stunned silence and shocked expressions between panels just made thing everything funnier, and the small touches like even the cat freaking out and Janine's blank expression just pushed the hilarity-content over the edge. Bravo.

Yes, we are looking for that line. :smallamused:

Thank you, Lycan!

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread The Third!)
so any chance you could tell us wether or not Tiaasal will be a reccuring charicter coffie? :P

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread The Third!)
I never did hang out in the Crack Pairings thread -- though I always loved the banners -- so I'm probably missing some context here. Are we alluding to that elf-goblin who Water Smurf uses as an avatar?
(If so, it's an adorable character.)
-
Re: Murphy's Law (Thread The Third!)
Redcloak and V's hypothetical offspring. Half goblin half elf. All cute.

Wow, nice picture. I didn't even notice the overdrawing of Fir until you mentioned it (and I was looking really close at the picture before that). I love your drawing, CWater!

I have to second this highly detailed statement. I did not see this joke coming. Fir's shocked expression is also icing on the cake.:smallbiggrin:
Oh, and i just noticed something. In comic #38, if you look closely above Fir's head in panel 3, you will see that Fir is meowing "<congrats>" to Luic. It's always the little details that I find amazing, Coffee.
-
Re: Murphy's Law (Thread The Third!)
Thanks everybody! I might change Fir's speech bubbles in the future, so they're easier to see. Maybe.
Do you love the new update schedule? I LOVE the new update schedule!
#45: 240 Proof
Before you ask:
1. Fir is with Serrin's parents.
2. Water-Smurf helped me out by letting me bounce ideas and characterizations off of her; letting me organize my ideas. Plus she's my friend. And I think this is a good way to thank her. Online, at least.

Good work, Coffee! I am loving these summer updates

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread The Third!)
I take it the dwarf is Anthony and the guy who got knocked out is the ex-boyfriend?
Wait...Janine is a bastard?
Tinder looks somewhat amused in the first panel, then a bit depressed in the second one.
Geez, elves really can't handle alcohol huh?

Yep.
Janine's parents got married when her mom was five months pregnant with her; it was a shotgun (Shotcrossbow?) wedding.
Elves can't handle beer designed for dwarf consumption. Especially when they've got d4 hit dice. Serrin and Tia would be better able to handle it though.

And she's so happy! And she and Serrin are best friends!
Anthony is an Italian name. The dwarves here have Italian names. :smalltongue:

<3 Awesome!
Maybe the other guy was raised by Dwarves. Or his family named it after their best man, a dwarf.
Seriously, you think even Word of God can stop the Prophetess of the Shipping Goddess? XP

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread The Third!)
It would seem that a certain elven mage did not put his second-best stat in constitution.
*monocle*
As always, great comic though . If only elves had their penalty in wisdom instead.

First: Sorta like Daigo and Kazumi, only more extreme?
Second: It would be a crossbow wedding. There's no such thing as a Shotcrossbow, there's only Manyshot.

Like a darker, more extreme version of Daigo and Kazumi.

That beer is 120% alcohol.

"Proof" is a (slightly old-fashioned) measure of the strength of alcoholic beverages For example, you might buy 80-proof whiskey. Depending on whether you're using the British system or the American, 100% alcohol would be either 175-proof or 200-proof.
(Non-dwarven) beer tends to be about 6%-10% alcohol, so you wouldn't expect more than 20 proof or so.
If Coffee's dwarves brew 240-proof beer, then they've found a way to make it more than 100% alcohol by volume. Poor elf never stood a chance.
EDIT: Ninja'd by Coffee.

Explosive arrows/bolts would make a good simile to a shotgun round.
This is a world of magic.
