Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Hmmm..... Tinypic.com or Flickr.com maybe? (though flickr may be picture only)
Otherwise, I can't think of any website that hosts images.
Why not just split the comic in two if they're getting to large for that?

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
What…..is….happening?
did the goldenheads just replace everyone panel-by-panel somehow? :smallconfused:

Torn is unconscious and having a dream where all that stuff happens (hence the very last panel, which is not a dream).

Yeah pretty much this.
And i'd rather not have to split apart comics. It ruins flow, and I might as well make 'em two separate strips.
Anyways, Comic 505 is up. Writing the dialogue for this one was...interesting. \\\

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Y'know, it might be prudent on the part of mortalkind throughout the multiverse if they were to publish a book on "The care and matainance of puny humans (And other weaklings.)", with hands-on helpful hints like how 90% of us can't shoot lightning from our hands without magic/psonic aplitude. :smalltongue:
Also, Memes.

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
You know what this needs? A good non violent negotiating session! Someone call the reasonable marines
You know reasonable marines vs major powers would be quite funny.
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Not sure who would win that, assuming they didn't underestimate major powers and that bolters can cause scratch damage.
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Bolters are actually automatic rocket launchers instead of just glorified machine guns in this comic, so they'd be pretty effective. But considering Powers has high HP and can deflect projectiles, it won't be that easy. Reasonable Marines do know how to use guns to their maximum effect, so it would be quite a fight.
In the meantime, while the Knights Inductor (Reasonable Marines) are currently serving out in another dimension, I dunno why, I dunno how, but I just thought that this would be a good idea.
Comic 506 is up. If you can't figure out where i'm going with this you've never had a childhood.

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Clever.
...Now I can't see it without imagining the rock version of the pokemon battle music.
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Why, that music makes everything better!
Now, I only wonder who's got the type advantage.

The Adeptus Custodes, of course.
Torn: Fighting (fighter)
Marnia: Fighting/(something to reflect holy power? Electric?)
Custodes: Psychic/Steel (Psyker, Armor, and nigh-godlike power that comes from being Adeptus Custodes)
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Well, good for them. Fighting has double effect against steel, which is countered by the half effect against psychic, so they at least have a chance.

Psychic has double effect against fighting and electric also has half against steel :P But the real issue is the custodes' high level compared to Torn and Marnia
(also, last I checked, fighting was halved against steel - its rock that it does double to)
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Fighting is super-effective against Steel, though it's weak against Psychic. Considering that setup, Psychic/Steel > Fighting. Of course, this assumes that the fighting pokemon will only use fighting moves and vice-versa. You'd be surprised how much ass can be kicked with a Psychic pokemon that knows an elemental punch....before Generation 4.
Anyways, Comic 507. The leader-offers are revealed.
Also, I don't recall ever establishing that the Custodes were psykers. Hell, i'm not even sure if there are psykers in the organization (however I can certainly take more artistic liberties :smalltongue:)

Of course the imperium would have standard regulations for pokemon battles.
This is going to be awesome, and I wouldn't care even if the battle took 100 pages.
They didn't address the issue of legendary pokemon, but I take it they're not allowed?
Also, how did you/will you choose the pokemons? Are they your favorites, or the ones you like? Is it just random?
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
I'm choosing them according to my favorites, otherwise ones I like. If you want a bit of inside-baseball, I have only like...4 pokemon pre-selected for all 4 of them. The one hinted at by Marnia in this comic is one of the four.
Anyways, the magnificence of the current state of the board is something that would be pretty much impossible for me to one-up, so i'll just do what I can and win/fail on my own merits. Nevertheless, you want a comic? You get a comic, damnit!
Comic 408 is up. I had some fun with this one.

That Angron has a raep face. This pleases me.
Also, I'm really sick of all these ponies.

They're basically mini-primarchs, right? If i recall correctly, the primarchs all had the POTENTIAL for psyker powers, Magnus was just the only one to use them.

To my knowledge only Lorgar, Konrad Kurze, Magnus, and Sanguinius manifested psychic powers, though Leman Russ is implied to have at least one psychic ability in A Thousand Sons when he

Released a shockwave which severely damaged and sometimes killed any telepaths and empaths unfortunate enough to be in the same general geographical location as him.
However, there's no material that suggests the Custodes are anything other than to Space Marines what Space Marines are to humans. While there's no reason they shouldn't have psychic powers, that doesn't mean they do, and I have no plans to give my Custodes psyker abilities. They're awesome enough, and there's enough characters that can rip apart continents with their minds.
Also, it's Aggron. Angron is the World Eaters Primarch and the only Daemon-Primarch that actually does anything.
Anyways, Comic 508 the Non-Pony version. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME COMIC AS BEFORE, but without ponies. Personally I think everything is better with ponies, but i'll let you decide: Which version should go in the archives? The Pony version or Real version? The loser goes into the Extras section.
Also, I think Pony Marnia is adorable as hell. I'm totally counting my own vote.

Pony version should go in the Archives  :smalltongue:
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Non-pony version should be archived. Makes more sense than a random pony comic in the archives.
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
This comic is in no shape, size, or form enhanced storyline-wise by this comic, but because I made it, I love it, and I couldn't figure out a way to make it longer without a strip break, here it is.
Comic 509. A whole three panels. :smalltongue:
And because this was short, i'll keep the poll open. Again, we're voting on which version of Comic 508 goes into the archives: the Pony version or Real version.
Current tally is Pony: 3, Real: 1.

Pony version. It's more dynamic, and isn't missing speech bubbles from panel 2

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Here's a disclaimer: I'm gonna judge the HELL out of the reasoning behind your opinions. However it's not my business to disparage you because of my opinion of your opinion.
Also, because that's two days in a row where comics came within 1 day of each other, i'm gonna keep the polls up.
Oh, and to make it fair I edited both comics, cleaning up flaws (missing text in panel 2 of Real, disconnected text bubble in Panel 4 of Real and Pony)
Pony
Real
Current polls: Pony 6, Real 2
Also i've decided that if Pony wins, it'll be in the extras section as well in the same way that Comic 193 is in the archives and extras section. Don't believe me? Check out the poorly updated archives!
Also Pony Marnia avatar because it's adorable as hell!
ANYWAYS...Comic 510

5 days 0 comments? That's encouraging.
Anyways, Comic 511.
A bit of explanation for the wait, experimentation among other things. I didn't like how the comic was going so I tried several things. Ultimately I fell back to what i'm good at: Badassery.
Also, since over a week is long enough, the polls are closed. the Pony version of Comic 508 will be in the archives. The Real version will be put into the extras section. Similarly, the Pony version will ALSO be put into the extras as Comic 508/April Fools Special '12
