That was quite good! Though I think you relied a little too much on the video clips, like the overly long examples of punsters in movies (Bond, Mr. Freeze). Other than that, there's some fantastic, insightful commentary. Well done, sir.

I mostly agree with the guy above me. You had allot of good commentary, that pretty much sums up my feelings for the comic. I award your review the Seal of Awesome. (can I do that?)
i was reading a lil bit about Minecraft's history, and i found this gem

The awesome but insane people in #tigirc helped me come up with a title for this game, and it’s Minecraft: Order of the Stone.
Minecraft because it’s a good name. Order of the Stone because it sounds like Order of the Stick, one of the best things on the internet.
does this counts as Oots in the Media ? was this know before ?
sometimes i miss a search button in this forum :/
Huh, Notch is a fan. Cool!
Not much new here to OOTS fans, but in my other life as the Pixel and Ink-Stained Wretch I posted a brief appreciation of Rich Burlew's ongoing masterwork:

The nonproductive.com links are broken; they updated their links so that the date is no longer in them. Otherwise, the links are the same. Cheers!
In brandon sanderson's steelheart there is at some point a reference of a "durkon's paradox" (which is a sort of occam's razor for physics-defying superpowers). Not 100% sure if it is a reference to oots, but what would be the chances of picking that name at random? also, according to tvtropes it is a reference.
I'd be a bit surprised if Brandon Sanderson wasn't an OOTS fan, too. Seems right up his alley. I mean, clever takes on fantasy tropes all around, right? I know Pat Rothfuss is a fan, which always warms the cockles of that thing I call a heart.
I don't know haven't Durkon's powers broken the laws of physics way more than necessary?
There's a two-page article about OotS in the latest issue of the free German magazine "Zauberwelten". Its review fits better to the early strips than to the later ones.
You can also order the magazine online for 2,50 € here, but at least that article is probably not worth the money.
Sooooooooo guess what made it into my top three webcomics of 2014? Check it out!

AnimeSensei posted this in its own thread, but it also belongs here: OOTS in Guinness World Records 2015.

The new "LARPs" webseries on YouTube features several OotS books prominently displayed in the background in episode 1, 1:11-1:17: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QixQzsVdsxk
I just watched the latest (and possibly last) episode of Community S06E13. At 12:43 (http://i.imgur.com/jznlNqp.jpg) I'm convinced that's The Order of the Stick. I don't have a clue which strip number though though. The character in the bottom right really looks like Vaarsuvius.
*zooms up super close*
Sorry, not seeing it. Speech color ballons are all wrong. And the background doesn't look like anything I've seen in the strip.
Would have been nice, but I think this is just something with a red and puprle color scheme.
I mean, I can see why you'd think it was, since at a distance it sorta looks like V. But on closer examination, I think this is a false positive:

EDITED:::
Went to the episode over at Yahoo and screencaptured a portion of the HD feed:
http://i.imgur.com/wEtffzO.png
It looses a bit on the screencapture, but it clearly says "RAINFOREST" in some font (not a font expert, so not sure which) as you look at the pic and expand it 2x or so and is absolutely no OOTS scene I've ever seen.
EDIT THE SECOND::: There is also some large green monster entering from the far left side and a small flying person between the two, perhaps looking over their shoulder. Seems to have dark purple hair and slightly different toned skin. Doesn't look like Rich's style at all, either.
So, some sort of cartoon, yes. But not OOTS, I'm afraid.
I'm a bit late to the party since it's already been disproven, but I'd also like to point out that the balloons look like round-cornered rectangles, not ellipses, even without zooming in. So they're both the wrong colour and the wrong shape.
8 Bit Theatre made a refrence, but i forgot what comic strip it was
I don't remember a reference, though admittedly I didn't know about Order of the Stick while 8BT was going on. Are you sure it wasn't the guest strip that the Giant drew?
The Dark Dungeons movie made a reference to OotS, which can be seen in Jontron's new video.

I don't know if this is the right place for this, but the latest Erfworld seems to have a shout-out to OotS: "Bottom line, it's just not that hard to fly through a mountain pass, even if it's full of giants."
Somehow I don't think that will happen.

OotS is one of the RPG webcomics that is referenced.
I used to do a fandub of OOTS. It's currently on hiatus, though I am looking to restart it once I settle down. Unfortunately, I can't post it here because I haven't posted enough.
EDIT Now, I can post links. Yay.

I love the Overly Sarcastic Productions people.
I loved them even more when I saw this:

As a long time lurker, I got to finally show some praise to the Giant:
Oblivion for all, or condemn self and others to oblivion, in exchange for giving other the chance for heaven and hell. Talk about high sticks.
Un aplauzo pal asadero carajo! Like fine steak, yes.
WAAAAAAA!
I hope Belkar got it done enough.
