Biscuit lost his tribe, his leg and his lips and hair opacity, he's not making such a big deal about it.
Really MinMax, grow up.
How did he not lie? He said "Paladins can't lie", which was a lie, since paladins can lie (or he wouldn't have been able to. And he did, he admitted to it, which means either his first or second statement was wrong).
And yeah, enjoying hurting others isn't a very Good thing at all. Also doesn't seem in character for BE at all. Then again he's still really annoyed about One Eye, I guess. Being a paladin doesn't mean he can't have emotions.
With Big Ears' tendency of self-sacrifice, I'm pretty sure he's being mean on purpose. By being so mean, he will fall, lose his paladinhood, and serve as a very clear example to the others of why you should be good.
Falling as a warning. It's a good sacrifice.
Being good by counterexample is more a Lelouch vi Britannia strategy than a Big Ears strategy.
Not a good idea considering he kind of holds the fate of the world in his hands, what with his axe-that-traps-a-demon-but-it-will-escape-if-you're-not-good.
The axe only accounts for the weilder's er, acts. So all of th good things he's done aren't doing to be completely counteracted by a bit of pettiness and a lie.
Exactly. I wasn't saying "Lying is horrible, now the demon will escape!", but in order to fall, Ears would have to do a bunch of bad stuff. Plus then he wouldn't have the full armor, and the axe could hurt him, although to be honest that's nothing to worry about as the demon would probably kill him first anyways.
Oh come on, what Big Ears did is nothing close of a first step to fall.
Minmax almost wiped his village, killed friends of him, is still quite racist toward goblins and used a magic item to teleport on them moments ago in the very specific intent of killing Names. And the rest for that matter.
The only things Minmax has for him?
First, he helped them to solve the puzzle so he wouldn't die to Kore (and may have lost his friend in the process). Second, it looks like he's going along with Fumbles (because he helped him with the mustache which may be because of OCD and because they agreed on a stupid duo name right after fighting about how much personal space they need.).
Sooo, enjoying that he hit his head while being freed. That's not an act that deserves a lot of kilonazis.
Y'know, for the life of me, I can not figure out why Thunt decided to give Minmax color changing armor. I can't imagine it becoming plot relevant (though I suppose its possible given the thumb thing), but really it just comes across as another continuity thing that Thunt has to keep track of from now on just for the sake of a one-off joke. Which I don't really mind, but Thunt really shouldn't be giving himself unnecessary work given how he has been handling the stress he puts himself under. (Though I suppose the armor came into play before the stress of his job became a big enough to issue to effect the comic itself.)
Mind you it doesn't really take play here because Minmax's armor was already yellow, but still. If Thunt decides to get rid of the armor in this dungeon, I wouldn't blame him.
i think it's mainly just a neat little thing that goes off the grid like chief’s spear and the anymug, it's not an enchantment that exists in the handbooks or is per-written, so it's unique to his story and his alone.
For example i gave my party a ring that lets them cast lay on hands as if they were a paladin of the same level, this ring does not exist in any book, and i just made it up on the spot. as a result, unless someone either coincidentally does the same or takes the idea from me, not everyone is going to have one, which makes it more special IMO.
Plus its damn good armor. It took a solid hit from a balor and didnt get damaged.
I'm not sure it's that much of an extra effort. He's the one writing the dialogue too, so he's aware of what Minmax says, and when he says a colour. And he needs to colour the armour anyways. The effort could be picking a new colour when the colour changes, and yeah, I guess it's possible to lose track, but he's drawing it the same way, just colouring differently. It's not like he has to design a new set of armour every time Minmax mentions an animal, or something. That would be more of a pain.
There may very well be a long-term reason the armour's properties are relevant, but even if there isn't, it's cool and I'm glad it was included.
The hard thing to keep tracks of is the combo with Oblivious.
Minmax will say "grey" before his next use of it.
It does not mean that Thunt has to think ahead of what color Minmax's armor will be, but that may force him to have Minmax saying a color. Or he can modify an old page :D
SpoilerDon't tell me Big Ears...
Names changed his sword, didn't he?
SpoilerHas fallen? Considering that the ropes were cut by some blunt spear in a weird way and that the axe was still a good weapon for Saral Caine, I'd say that the reason for being unable to cut them doesn't come from Big Ears at all.
Okay, thanks, that's a much less stupid explanation than mine.
Spoiler
H'uh, i think Names DID get a new sword. did something happen to the old one? maybe he lost it in the fight against Kore, or in the water of the first room.
Thaco lost his sword at some point too didn't he? i mean it's not much use for him anymore with the blindfold but still.
anyways my guess is that either A. the ropes can only be cut once by any individual weapon, or B. that staff has some kind of control over them.
Edit: okay Thaco just dropped his sword in the fight against the golems and never bothered to pick it up again. good to know.
edit 2: And Complains still had his in the hallway leading up to the golem room. weird. guess this one is an upgrade?
What kind of threat can lurk in a weird, large room?
SpoilerA deadly one, of course!
Am I the only one who's tired of dungeon crawls? Between Dies' Dungeon Crawl, the Maze of Many, and now this, it seems like it's been crawl after crawl for years. Starts to feel same-y.
Crawl or not, it does make me happy for Goblins to update, though.
SpoilerSo is Big Ears axe losing its effectiveness because he lied? Or is it just because we needed to see Kickaxo's new weapon in action?
Spoiler: Big EarsThe ropes are a paladin, obviously.
Guys relax, just because Big Ears can't cut some ropes doesn't mean he's fallen or he's weaker because he lied, things don't work like that :/
In all likelyhood either the ropes can't be cut by the same weapon twice, or the staff Fumbles picked up has some sort of control over them so these particuler ropes were different then the usual ones.
