Scry interference is Scry interference. Groucho will not be claimed if two people scry him on the same night. It's the best way to handle this.

Also, do the fool and the seer both see the fool when scrying each other?
The seer and the fool don't see exact roles. They just see Villager/Wolf/Groucho.

Do B&E know each other to start with?
Yes. The Lovers role generally has the two know each other at first.

No. Someone gets the noose every day.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
Just in case it causes any confusion, I'd like to point out that the list of players says it's out of forty because we were hoping for AROUND forty players. But we can play with more than forty, so if you see forty players on the list and you still want to join, go ahead and join. (And if we stay stuck at 39, we can also play with 39.)

That's a tad anti-town, isn't it? How is the Seer ever supposed to trust anyone ever, given that there's an Alpha?
-
Re: Turf War - The Recruitment Thread
Standard rules are that the seer and fool see the fool when looking at each other. That's why I asked. From the werewolf central thread:
"Seer: Each night phase, you may PM the Narrator and co-Narrator to look into the heart of one other player. When you select a player, the answer given to you will be villager, fool, or werewolf. Seers see the Devil as a Werewolf.
Fool: Thinks he is a seer. Is told that he is a seer. When a fool gets his foresight in the evening, he gets a random chance as to what he sees when he points somebody out. When he points to the Seer, he will always see the Fool, and vice versa."
But rules are made to be broken. It should just be noted that if we do it this way the seer will be unable to completely trust any one person.

Re: Turf War - The Recruitment Thread
That's the point of an alpha, that the seer can't know for sure.

Yeah, but that's for villagers. It's kind of ridiculous if the wolves are all connected and the seer will never even know if he's found the masons.
-
Re: Turf War - The Recruitment Thread
The Seer has to play on probabilities, trust people that seem trustworthy and don't feel like an Alpha.

That's the reason why the Alpha is there in the first place. It makes the Seer not 100% effective. Furthermore, if and when the Alpha dies, anyone the seer Scried as "villager" is definitely safe, because there's only ONE person that will produce a wrong scry result.
On the very first game I played, the Fool knew she was the Fool on Night 1, because she scried a Villager as a Mason, and got in contact with that Villager. The Villager corrected the Fool, and the Fool knew immediately that she was the Fool: made the entire role pointless.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Yeah, but that's for villagers."
The Wolves are all connected because the game is an informed minority versus an uninformed majority. If we made the Wolves be unconnected to start with, they would have a massive disadvantage with the current rules and roles. The game counteracts the Wolves knowing each other by having a group of Masons that know each other as well (and usually the Masons are around the same number of people).

No, Penguinator isn't talking about the dispensation of the wolves. He's referring to the inability of the Seer to nail down the masons and network, I believe.
So he's proposing that the seer can discern Town roles. Not that the alpha shouldn't exist or the wolves lack group knowledge.

This.
The seer is all but useless unless they choose to reveal themselves publicly, and even then, they have a chance to be the Fool and be wrong about everything that they think they know.
The seer has to pray that they survive longer than the alpha before they know who are actually villagers, and the wolves have a clear advantage because they have a Devil which knows them and can scry specific roles. The seer not only has to survive longer than the alpha, they have to avoid being scried by the Devil for the entire game.
The seer can't link the masons, verify the baner, verify the lovers, or even find a trustworthy proxy.

Does anyone else think the Duck bandwagon picked up speed too fast? EmeraldRose for jumping on it so readily with so little reason.
