Three more times with Missy, then she wants Butler and then Sophie to slide with her. Then she's ready to try it by herself. Then...
... suffice it to say, she'll probably be going as long as three adults, all three of whom are in excellent physical fitness, are able to keep up with her.
She'll sleep very soundly tonight.

"But pudding isn't separate. It goes with afternoon tea, dinner, and supper."

"Mhm. Oooh, do you know if there are any lemons at the Market, Justin? We couldn't find them last time."

"I don't go food shopping that often, but I'd be happy to help you look," Justin says as he processes this new food information. "Okay, so: Are you talking about pudding like the snack in the plastic cup," he says imitating the removal of the wrapper, "aren't Dinner and Supper the same thing, and are you just making up elevenses to mess with me?"

The children look mystified. Brand disgusted. "Pudding simply means 'dessert'. But what you call 'pudding', I would call penance. It's vile. Truly vile. But there really are 7 meals in a day. I'm not sure anyone but us eats at them all."
"Not even the Wolfen do," Lily says. "They go and kill a deer and eat a whole bunch without even cooking it, then have a long nap, and don't eat again the rest of the day, except maybe a snack. That's the worst part about when I become a Wolfen. I don't want to eat raw meat."
"You're not going to become a Wolfen!" Tito snaps at his sister. They'd been getting on so well up until now too. "You're a halfling. You have to stay a halfling."
"Renetta didn't stay an elf!" Lily retorts.
Pansy to the rescue! The sandwich, she returns with, though lacking in onion gravy, has three kinds of cold meat, two kinds of cheese, lettuce, mayo, pickles, tomatoes, yellow peppers, red onions, and black olives. And of course it's served on a homemade bun that was baked only yesterday and is absolutely massive. "I'm sorry the bread is a day old. We haven't finished the baking today," she says. She also sets a bowl of cherries down on the table, and the kids come along and start eating it. "Slow down, you two. Save some for Justin."
"And me!" Brand says. He's finished the kneading, and puts the bread back in the bowl, covers it, and sets it on a shelf near the fireplace for rising. "I just have to wash my hands." As he walks past, Pansy holds up a cherry for him to catch in his mouth.
Main Cabin
Justin takes his experimental bite into his sandwich. "I tekk it beck," he says, mouth half full. He swallows and finishes what he was about to say, "I can't make a sandwich. If this is what a sandwich is, I couldn't possibly make one. And please don't apologize, Pansy. It's not like I was expected."
His mind wanders on the transformation as he eats. "Why wouldn't you want to stay a halfling Lily? You're pretty great from what I've seen."
Sophie will be happy to slide with Jefferies. She finds the little orc rather endearing.Quote:

"I want to be a Wolfen so I can marry Pathfinder when I grow up! Or maybe another Wolfen, if Pathfinder marries Reelshka first, but I wanted to marry Pathfinder before she did." There is a pout here. Epic grade pout!

A very strange looking man in a pair of jeans and a ragged blue shirt. He has light blue eyes, and a shy smile. He seems lost, like a tourist in a strange new place.

"Don't forget the bones. There's a lot of flavour there too," Lily says. "I've seen Pathfinder break the bones and suck out the marrow."

"Didn't know about the drippings, but I knew about the bones," Justin says, slowly nearing the end of the second best sandwich. "Not the marrow thing, but that you can make soup from the bones." Pretty easy way to get something flavorful back in the wastes. Though desperation occasionally lead to five times reboiled bones. "Did your parents teach you all this, or did you just pick it up?" To Justin, these kids are incredibly knowledgeable about cooking.

Valaria replies, leaning in close to Zero. She's already dropped him a clue about where she bought the bottled joy, though she was very cagey in doing so.
She casts a kittenish smile upon Zero. Edging nearer and nearer to him, she parts her lips and whispers one sly sentence more.

"You always come early and get sneaky-peaky lessons!" Lily says. "Then she'll fall in love with you so much, and we'll make another wedding feast just like Waterstrider's, only better because Tito made something last week with almonds and pears that was really yummy and he didn't know how to make it then. And if we can get lemons for lemon meringue pie, it will be even better!"
