New comic is up.
I like it.
Oh! I can explain this one! See, the weight of the displaced air is equal to the buoyancy force, so-
Uh-
Well, I mean, great comic, Giant!
Ah, it's nice to have Elan being Elan after the weightiness of Eugene's presence.
Love the "falling rocs" sign.
I must concur, the falling rocs sign was spot on.
I wonder if the helium is made up of many tiny Helium elementals?
Ah, that was a laugh I needed today.
Did Roy actually think he could have a Kinematics discussion with Elan? I mean really, Elan?
You'd think Roy would know better by now.:smallamused:
Roy, stop trying. Even if you didn't have that splash page, you couldn't shove "Science!!" (Well, physics) into Elan's head, it's too filled with puppets.
Falling Rocs. Nice one :D
But rocs are supposed to fly, why are they falling?
At last, they're out of the hold. No more exposition ho!
Agreed that the "Falling Rocks; Falling Rocs" gag was priceless! I literally snorted from trying not to laugh too loudly at work.
Ah, at last a discussion were physics is not told to stand in the corner. :smalltongue:
That was certainly more uplifting than the last few pages.
Air density is lower up here so we don't rise anymore SHUT UP!
Another example of something being needlessly complicated (like Nale's classes as opposed to being a bard). Just magic the boat, it's easier.
OK. I just have to ask because that "Falling Rocs" pun was fabulous. The high point of my morning, even.
Rich, did you think of that just recently, or have you been waiting to use it for a long time?
But don't rocs tend to fly rather than fall?
And if the hull is enchanted, then it is a magical airship, isn't it?
Art triumphs over science?! What would Vaarsuvius say? ...maybe we should add that to the alignment system, so Elan is Chaotic Artistic Good, and Roy is Lawful Scientific Good?
Have to admit, I always get a laugh from meta humor.
I loved the falling rocks/rocs signs. I also liked the callback to the first dungeon, and the original plan to endlessly wander around in it. Before you came up with the whole "Rifts" thing.
Great comic! I really enjoyed it!
Classic Elan humor!
Ah, yes, a dash of steampunk makes any fantasy story...um...steampunk-ier.
I wonder what the relative cost efficiencies of using mundane helium versus magical levitation are. Also the engineering benefits and problems posed by each. But this probably isn't the best comic to speculate on that with.
Ha! The Giant, you Roc!
Well that settles that "debate".
