Re: [Nexus] OoC 34: If it exists, we have role-played it. No exceptions.
Whatever do you mean by that? Two women and a paralyzed man left alone in a lab full of flickering lights and genetically altered plants doesn't really merit an "Oh Dear" reaction in my book. There's absolutely nothing suspicious about that scenario as far as I'm concerned. :smallconfused:

Re: [Nexus] OoC 34: If it exists, we have role-played it. No exceptions.
Shayan is a plant-person. Would highly concentrated salt water damage her and her creations or has the central vacuole more or less been dispensed with in the cells of her body? :smallconfused: I've found myself conjecturing about plant-animal hybrids in fiction lately and would greatly appreciate any insight you guys might have on the subject!

Re: [Nexus] OoC 34: If it exists, we have role-played it. No exceptions.
Highly concentrated salt water tends to damage most living things if it's internalized, but as for Shayan, the roots of the plant she's bonded to are in her body, so if she was immersed in salt water she'd have to actively drink it for it to be absorbed into the plant.
Even then, the entire point of this plant is that it can regenerate from nearly anything. Dehydration would probably temporarily wither it, but it wouldn't die.
As for her creations, while they are altered by crossbreeding they are just plants for the most part. The ones that don't exactly absorb water for sustenance (like the carnivorous ones which get both liquids and nutrients from their victims) would probably be less susceptible simply because they're less likely to absorb the salt water that's presented to them, but the rest would absolutely be affected.
Anyway, that's my opinion on Shayan in particular. If she was hybridized with a different plant or had roots emerging from her skin to either collect moisture from the air or the earth, I could see it making sense for salt being a major sticking point, but with everything but the vines internalized there's much less to worry about so long as you don't guzzle it.

Re: [Nexus] OoC 34: If it exists, we have role-played it. No exceptions.
Thanks for the info, Slii! That was my only query for now, though I may pose another in the future about the alterations to any internal organs!
And now a question for HT!
HT, would you mind if Clarissa and Becky stopped by your human supremacists' restaurant? Clarissa won't break anything except maybe a plate or two while she's there if things go south. It'll be like a nonviolent protest with a monster kissing a human to disgust the supremacists and drive off their clients!
Notice: I won't be able to post anything for four or five hours more likely than not, but I will post as much as I can after that!

Re: [Nexus] OoC 34: If it exists, we have role-played it. No exceptions.
In a related but unconnected question: Happyturtle and maybe Earl of Purple, I'd like to have my grafitti guild vandalize paint the front of Sitar Strings in retaliation for the elf neighborhood.

Yes, both plans are fine.

Uhhhh... I can't think of anywhere other than N&N and maybe HALO, since we're sort of waiting for BR to respond in Temple of Splendours, right?
EDIT: And as for Triangulation, Lix is very likely not going to be feeling up to doing things in general for a while, soooooo yeah.

Bone is waiting for Callie's reply, and Polly is looking for her, in Mallside.

Deadtime now. Goodnight, sleep tight and don't let the Landvaettir bite. Not that they're especially likely to, I suppose. But then, if I stuck to creatures that were likely to bite I'd run out much, much faster. Especially with 'Q'.

"What did I just see?"
Tearing his eyes away from the horrid sight for a moment, he manages to blurt out a not entirely sexy response to Pavati.
"What, and get diabetes?"
You're a devil, Kal. You don't get diabetes. :smallannoyed:
Whoops. I probably should have reposted her description there...
Vaenesh and Talnissa are both ghosts possessing clockwork and/or steam powered bodies; the robotic undead I mentioned appears to a rather nice looking woman made of bronze, with short, fine, black wire for hair.

Yup, looks like that is a thing that will happen. I'll post for Aegis sometime tomorrow, for now, I've got a play to memorize by morning.

Already posted there, actually, though I can see why you might have missed it; I actually edited it in to another post.

Hey, C'nor, I don't know much about mouse skeletons, but I do know that humanity and primates are unusual in only having one lower jaw bone. I have two mouse skulls in my collection, taken from owl pellets, but neither came with a lower jaw. My shrew skull, though, did, and it's split. But shrews and mice aren't closely related, so that's actually irrelevant rambling. As was that sentence, and on closer inspection this one. Anyway, I think mice have two lower jaw bones, a left one and a right one.

Hear ye, Hear ye:
I come bearing a message from Harnel, who is unable to post at this time because his internet connection is committing a horrid evil upon him: not allowing him to see websites. He was still able to send a message, but will be unable to post until his internet realizes that web pages are important.

I was wondering about that... Doesn't really change what Bone would do, though, I suppose; it just means that she wouldn't have to split it before grinding the ends down.

Could anyone in GLoG please inform me how a teenage minotaur and his goat might join the group?
