A set of novel evolution templates wouldn't be bad, actually.
I think I'll do a base class, though.

Thinking of doing something on breeding, or perhaps a breedER...I'm moving this month, so we'll see how much I can focus. :smallwink:
I think I'm gonna do a poisoner with ranger-level casting and an assortment of options for pets and abilities themed around the poison types of the first 386 because those are the ones I know.
Anyone got any ideas for a class name?
EDIT: Posted. Just a table with the class features plus some notes on how they're gonna work.

I'm thinking of doing Steelix.
Any suggestions for which creature type to use? Steelix has to eat, so it can't be an elemental, though I imagine that doesn't prohibit it from having the earth subtype.
Got the most important stuff up. Hope that the wording is clear enough? I often get trouble with that. And hopefully this is Pathfinder-y enough so far, still very new to it.
Ugh, college is killer. @.@
So, how is everyone coming this month entry wise?
And if you haven't voted yet, please do so.
Not too bad i guess.
My entry feels very... Generic but i think i have it mostly finished.
Hey troll, could you review my steelix please?
I'd like most to know whether it is appropriate for CR 12.
After forgetting to build an entry last month, I have decided to return. My entry shall be based off Kirlia, Gardevoir and Gallade. Except not as creatures, but as a single 10-level prestige class
Chassis for the Dancer has been posted. Meaning hit dice, saves and BAB, with skills coming shortly after this post
EDIT: Skills are up; based on the Shadowdancer
Sorry for not being here all, been pretty sick the last few days and it's left me pretty scattered brained. @.@
Congratulations to the winners. I should be able to work on trophies and give rundowns come Monday, assuming my health improves.
Just an update everyone:
I've fully gotten over being sick (yay) and I got a chunk of my college work (along with my first test of the semester) out of the way. I still need to finish this week's work for a course tomorrow (shouldn't take more than 4 hours tops) and then I'll be churning out the trophies for last month's competition and giving a rundown on our only complete entry.
Do try to get those entries finished before the end of the month everyone, but I'll probably be giving an extension just because of the quagmire I got stuck in these last two weeks. :smallfrown:
You can't use your Bulbasaur as you've previously posted it.

I know this is the third time I've asked, but it's been a while and no one has done it.
Can someone please review my steelix?
All the trophies have been sent out everyone! Once again, congratulations to the winners!
I'll be doing the rundowns shortly.
Alright, here's a rundown on Steelix!
Starting with the grammar, all I'll suggest is re-reading through what you wrote and look at combining sentences and using more descriptive language so that the ecology flows better.
- What made you to decide to call these monsters Steelix instead of something else?
- I wonder about what a Steelix's size category would be, in all actuality. It meets the length requirements of Huge, but it's far too light.
- You didn't fill in the Steelix's Perception bonus under Senses.
- Why is the Steelix 2 HD under average for its CR and type?
- Steelix doesn't have Cold Resistance, but you didn't really mention this.
- Does the Steelix not have any Damage Reduction because Fighting moves are Super effective against it?
- Why is its land speed greater than its burrow speed?
- Even though Iron Tail is a move, the attack would still be called a Tail Slap.
- Since Steelix breed, its Organization slot should mention occurring a breeding pair.
- Under the Steel subtype, why are immune to weather effects? Steel types do take damage from Hail.
And that's it for now.
And this is why I wanted a review.
I called them steelix because I was making a steelix. I can change the name if you like.
Steelix now weighs 20 tonnes.
I thought the steel subtype and steelixes abilities warranted a CR bump. Do you want me to up the HD by 2?
I didn't mention cold resistance because it's in the steel subtype. I also didn't mention poison immunity because it's in the steel subtype. Is this a problem?
Steelix does have DR now.
Burrow speed changed.
Iron tail changed.
Organisation changed.
Weather immunity removed.
Thanks!
Tanuki, is there going to be an extension of the deadline or not? I have a busy week IRL, so I need to know soon
It's up to you, I was just curious.
Oh, I was talking about the actual Steelix, not your entry. Steelix weigh close to 900 lbs, which is quite shy of even a ton.Quote:

Generally a creature has lower HD for its CR because of high hit points from a non-HD source or because of very good defensive abilities. Nothing for your Steelix warrants this though, as far as I can see.Quote:

You did mention Poison immunity though. And if your entry is meant to be a directly translated Steelix instead of just inspired, it wouldn't have any kind of Cold Resistance.Quote:

Ice is super effective against Ground types, but is not very effective against Steel types. Thus, a Steelix takes normal damage from Ice moves since it's both types.
@Razanir: I generally don't extend the contest until the last day, since we could always see 3 complete entries before the final deadline. But if the folks who have yet to finish their entries tell me right now that they won't be done by the end of the 28th, then I'll extend it early.
Huge creatures weigh between 2 and 16 tonnes. And since i've made steel types heavy, I made it 20 tonnes.
I've dropped the CR to 11.
I think the 10 cold resist must stay. The steel type has resistance to it, and I've made steelix a steel subtype. Pokemon doesn't always translate exactly into D&D.
Ah, what the heck; the contest is extended to March 7th.
I'll post an official message to that end when I get a chance.
Will the new contest still start on the 1st of march?
