Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
yes, but remember, no prototypes means no prospit-derse war starts.
meaning the dersites don't go to their planets to try and wipe out the Players before they kill the Black King.
meaning the Prospit-Derse War is still cold and in eternal stalemate, with no evolving battlefield and whatnot, so they mostly can only fight the skeletons. unless they somehow found a way to Derse, but I don't like the prospects of taking on an entire planet of Dersites for grist.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
Judging by the number of carapacian corpses we've seen, Carapacians don't drop grist. I always thought imps just sort of appeared when the planet formed. Also, where have we seen an unprototyped imp within the story?
-
Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
That and carapacians are sentient beings, whereas the Imps and such are constructs of the game. The Minions are made in cloning vats, apparently, by Derse, to challenge the players. Or something like that. The Wiki has more information.

Wait a bit for the flash to go to that point.
Also I think in one of the walkabout flashes (probably John's arrival on LOWAS), there's explanation that the various underlings were created by the Denizen at the bequest of Derse.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
Well, that didn't go well!

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
Jane's response was perfect. Perhaps now she'll focus her efforts on a better class of paramour.

Ah. Still, we don't have any information that the regular imps show up in Void Sessions- I figured that the skeletal imps were a way of eventually purging the players of Void sessions, while still leaving some hope for Deux Ex Machinas or particularly ingenious solutions.

Who? It's not like there's a whole lot of eligible bachelors in the Homestuck cast at the moment. The only guys (aside from John, who is off limits, of course) who are single and alive at the moment are Karkat and Gamzee; The former hasn't gotten over Terezi yet (And, being fond of that pairing, I still suspect they're going to get back together), and the latter... It's Gamzee. 'nuff said.

Her options are limited though.
Dave's taken, Dirk is most likely gay, Jake is a jerk, and she's related to John, who doesn't like Incest. If she's into girls Rose may or may not be with Kanaya after this mess, and Roxy seems to be notably into men first and foremost. Jade is ...Jade.
...I wonder if the carapaces are single?

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
*Mental mind crash*
Wait a minut. Roxy is sober?
-
Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
Yup. That's why Caliborn can't use his computer to view their session- Her void powers are supressed when she drinks. So, she's not drunk, she's just a bit goofy, that's all.

Clearly Jane needs to start dating Davesprite.

Oh GCAT. How we so readily forget that you're Her Imperious Condescension's mindslave.

Oh yes, that would go well. He's only permanently trapped as Dave's slightly wiser and more cryptic 13-year old self. Plus, Jane is totally still into Jake and she just fails at anything but playing the opposite game.

Mindslave? Isn't gcat the scratched first guardian? Doc scratch was above the Condensce in power, I'm not sure why gcat would be her mindslave. They might have similar agendas, but then gcat is also inscrutable and probably has some completely different reason for why he teleported Roxy.
Or, did I just forget about something completely here?

Yup. She has Tavros' power to control animals. Gcat is an animal. We saw her mindcontrolling gcat in a flash a while back.

I forgot about that panel entirely. Hm, there are still a couple questions though. Can she see through gcat's eyes all the time? Or did she maybe send gcat out on a mission to find the kids and it just happened to show up at that time and grab Roxy while she was alone? I don't know if we can say how well prepared she was for a meeting just at this moment.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
Actually, Jake and Jane are not related even ectoplasmically. Their ghostslime was combined to create John and Jade, not the reverse. So there's no squick at all apart from age. How that works, who knows, but Jane is 100% Nana and Jake is 100% Harley, who are in turn 100% Nana and 100% Harley...
As for GCAT, first guardians have a pretty distinctive style. What isn't outline is either white or sun green. If you saw his eyes at all, they would have been green at any time.
As for Condesce... Whatever she does will come out of left field. Condi both works for and despises her boss (apparently), which puts her into a category near Jack Noir. She could frankly do anything from kill Roxy on the spot (doubtful? Ask Fefeta), interrogate/imprison her (prisoner exchange?), or chat conversationally with her (so you're the Lalonde girl? I'll never forget your mother...). It's a roll of the 8d8, really.

I don't think it works quite like that.
Karkat sent out his own players and their ancestors.
But presumably, the pre scratch session would need to do the same thing.
Not to mention that the timeline CAN'T work the way it's presented, that's almost most of the point. A character from an earth that no longer exists can't really affect things and keep everything Kosher.
So presumably at some point one of the Alpha players needs to do some reverse ectobiology.

Exept no, they don't. This was already stated. John made the ectobabies, and sent them through the portals to earth, turning into him, nana, bro, jade, etc.
When he later scratched his session, those SAME EIGHT BABIES went through DIFFERENT portals INSTEAD of the ones they went through before. You've essentually got sixteen babies now, two of everybody. Those that went to pre-scratch earth, and those that went to post-scratch. it doesn't matter that this causes a parodox because EVERYTHING in Sburb is a parodox.
Same with karkat, Kankri and crew couldn't win because they never made themselves, this was openly stated by Doc Scratch. so they scratched, and Karkat made the grubs, that then went through the portals, both to beforus, and to Alternia.

Can you link where Scratch said that?
Also, again, you saying that doesn't negate the obvious timeline issues: The scratch was supposed to clean things entirely. John was never supposed to have existed post scratch at all. His actions still being what did things doesn't work. Because logically, someone can't come from a place that never existed and punch in DNA from locations that never existed and have everything work out properly. Time travel really doesn't work that way unless I'm missing something.
I mean, look at what Hussie said recently: The Alpha timeline session can't produce a universe unless it has outside help. As in, it's something that isn't considered naturally occurring within the session or universe. The two are largely separate entities, where one just happens to have a thing the other needs to produce a victory that'd be impossible otherwise.

The scratch doesn't create a second universe, it overwrites the first by scrambling events a little - ancestors become descendants and timing gets altered, and any changes that arise from that. (Condesce changes things further, but she's definitely outside the ordinary scope of the game.) This is why Meena and Jade had to pull off such drastic stunts - their actions allowed their peers to survive the scratch when they should have been simply rewritten with the rest of the universe.
And yes, a Void session isn't supposed to be fruitful without outside help. But the thing you're missing here is that, while the universe is the same, the session is not. The same universe can create as many sessions as players care to create, such as Fedora Fan's session, which happened concurrently with the Tick players (the Tock version is Fedora Friend, as I recall). Even though John and Jade come from the same universe (effectively), they're coming from a different session. Thus "outside help".
