If Hollywood were in charge of casting, you bet. :smalltongue:

We DO remember what happened to Queen Mary, yes? :)

You mean it's Mary queen of the Scots? I assumed we were talking about Bloody Mary. I suppose it makes more sense that way.

I'm almost beginning to feel sorry for the ex-queen. Half an hour, yikes. :smalleek:

Talk about inefficiency - proper meat-grinder should do it much faster. :smalltongue:

Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
I'm starting to wonder how she will be saved. The humiliation conga, to use silly trope verbiage, is so thorough that just killing her off now would seem gratuitously cruel. It seems like the aim of all this is to knock her ego down a few pegs (just about all the pegs, rather) more than to dispose of the character entirely.

Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
Meh, just anybody could show up to save her... if I had to pick someone I'd say Arakune but.. that would make kind of sense as opposed to anybody else.
-
Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
OR, she could die and come back as a ghost or something, or as a demoness after conquering a layer of the Abyss.

Really? He doesn't seem interested.

:smalltongue:
Yeah, I guessed you meant Arachne.
-
Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
I'd say I walked right into that one but how should I know he'd show up?:smallwink:
-
Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
Looks like Kato may have called it; if the spelling was supposed to be Arachne. :smalltongue:

Ah, dammit  I blame my anime watching habits where it would be written Arakune... But it wasn't that hard to guess, was it?
Arachne and Queenie sure are besties, aren't they?

Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
Nice of them to bandage up the flayed pieces of Queenie before tossing her into the meat grinder. :smallamused:

Theese are nost likely not bandages - this is how she looks like under the skin given the limited shading one can do while sketching.
-
Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
... Maybe she was better off taking her chances with the meat grinder...
-
Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
And here comes Mahr'i's true colors...

Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
A racist drow? Who could have ever imagined that :smalltongue:

Agreed. Drows or even Elves putting themselves over other races is like a dwarf living underground... how is that a surprise or anything?
-
Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
So... Mahr'i's plan is essentially to take her sister's position and actually be competent...
Not surprising, but I'm still interested and I wanna see where it goes.
-
Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
So...
Anyone else really hoping that this whole... Assassinate Glon thing is successful?
-
Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
I don't know, he's one of the more interesting characters in the comic. Not a lovable one, but interesting.
To speculate: maybe Mah'ri doesn't want to assassinate the, just make them infertile? She's a drow, she can wait, and no heirs would destabilize the rule, while giving more time to prepare for a conflict.
But I'm afraid Mah'ri is screwed. She is way to competent, and challenges the main characters. Heck, she even behaves like an actually evil character.

Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
She would have a deal like that. And Maula sounds like a parent who's letting their kid play video games or something. XD

Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
The king is back! Sort of. :smallamused:

Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
Hm... can one giant Beholder really stand up to two whole armies?!

If he is a Beholder Mage then yes, he can. Besides, he can rally other beholders.
-
Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
If he is a beholder mage he is more than enough for three armies.
-
Re: Yet another fantasy gamer comic: discuss
I liked seeing these three kids take matter in their own hands. It's cute.

Beholder Mages put out their central eye (and, as they level up, each other eye one by one)- this guy doesn't look to have that eye removed.
That said, there are giant beholders- the Elder Orb, and the Hive Mother.

Wait, doesn't the main eye go last? I was always under an impression, that you sacrificed eyestalks first.

The central eye constantly emits antimagic energies. If the beholder wants to be a mage, he needs to turn off his antimagic generator.
The eyestalks are sacrificed to turn them into "spell stalk" -- instead of their original power, they can be used to cast spells of a given level. It's more flexible and powerful, but there's the "limited slots per day" trade-off.
