Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
The metal-limbed shinigami ahead of them groans as the two lead wolves go bowling backward, before typing a command into a keyboard mounted into his mechanical arm.
"Kch, Always something, isn't there... Right, safeties off. Now you're dogmeat, kch."
As the two lead Nukarites struggles back onto their paws, the rest of the dozen-strong pack throws itself at Vasae and Kusato with wild abandon, apparently enraged by their comrade's rather undignified defeat.
Meanwhile, the jellyfish are picking up alarming speed. The air around their tentacles crackles oddly.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
Kusato draws his glass sword and hurls it down on the ground.
Shatter! Firano!
Shards of razor-sharp broken glass explode in all directions, spinning through the air and aimed to lacerate everything in sight. Except the twins themselves, who the glass doesn't appear to harm in the least.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
Vasae's arms are suddenly coated in a diamond sheen as two massive tonfa explode into life in his hands, what was the point of shouting anything when you didn't have to. He dash's forward towards the wolf creatures, who will find a very angry Shinigami kicking and beating the tar out of them with a storm of glass acting as a shield.
"I'm to cool for command words"
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
Two of the wolves are brought down by the glass storm, shards lodged deep in their skulls. Most of the others bear cuts of varying severity along their flanks, which certainly don't help as Vasae crashes into them like a tonfa-wielding whirlwind. Of the remaining ten wolves, six stay after Vasae, snapping and snarling in a battle that can only be compared to a Loony Tunes dust-cloud-fight directed by Quentin Tarantino. The remaining four circle around him before charging at Kusato.
The glass storm's effects on the Kuragekin are far more drastic - a full half of them deflate with a sound like a punctured whoopee cushion, spilling unindentifiable fluids everywhere as they sink to the ground. The other half continue to move toward Kusato, but are suddenly a secondary concern, as a thick-looking, sluggish pink gas begins to seep from the dead jellyfish at an alarming rate, spreading around the chamber.
Kinkuzo seems to be totally unconcerned. "Kch. Not too cool to bleed, though? Kch."
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
"Heh. Give us a hand...oh how unkind of me...you can only make the sound of one hand clapping"
Vasae suddenly appears in front of the wolf creatures, intercepting them from reaching Kusato, jumping into the air preforming a spin kick, one of the four launching into a wall with a sick thud. The others will find themselves knocked into the smoke.
"Ya'll ain't nothin but hound dogs."
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
"Kch. The sound of one hand clapping? That's easy - it's 'boom'. Kch."
The metal-limbed shinigami raises his prosthetic arm, which slides back to reveal a hollow, circular space, almost like a... barrel.
The resultant blast is roughly equivalent to a cero, and heads straight at Vasae. There's little doubt he can dodge it - whether he can do so without going left or backwards into the gas, or to the right into the waiting jaws of the wolves he left behind, is another matter.
The aforementioned wolves don't seem too happy at Vasae leaving to attack their brothers - they move blindingly fast, faster than any being not using shunpo has any right to be, and straight at Kusato. Three jump in at once, while the other half circle round and leap at his back.
In the twisting pink gas, the kicked-Nukarites howl piteously. They almost seem to be melting. It's undoubtedly nasty stuff, which only makes the way it's moving all the more worrying.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
Vasae could of course simply stand there, and block the oncomming attack, if its only slightly less strong then a high powered Cero...he was completly safe. That was after all what his Shikai was meant to do. Shield. He brought the tonfa up, the cero partings harmlessly around himself. Sad to say the wolves lunging for himself were not so lucky. When the light faded, Vasae simply stood, panting from the effort from standing upright from the blast.
"Brothers Grim 1. Dumb ^*#% 0. Give the losing party a hand. No really, he needs one."
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
Meanwhile, the pink gas is approaching.
Not sure we want to get trapped in that, says Kusato cheerfully. Come on, Vas, let's make a banana and run away.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
((There aren't any wolves attacking Vasae - they're all either at Kusato or in the gas))
Vasae's triumph is likely shortlived - as the blast disperses, it reveals the gas has spread to cover most of the chamber, and is almost at his feet. The Nukarites inside have dissolved entirely, and an eerie humming, crackling roar can be heard from within, pitched as though from a great distance.
"Actually, I think it's 1-all."
The jellyfish burst out of the cloud, apparently unaffected, and reach Vasae in an iridescent pink cloud of tendrils that crackle unnaturally. Some drop from above, having floated there during the fight with the wolves, and lash their tendrils at his shoulders and back.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
Kusato looks around at the wolves circling him, and raises his arms. Glass shards rise back into the air and shoot back towards the wolves. Little help here, says Kusato anxiously to Vasae.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
The second glass storm slashes into the wolves, but this time they can see it coming - they're apparently smarter than they look - and only three die, glass sitcking awkwardly from their skulls. The others suffer harsher wounds due to the range, but continue to charge, barreling into Kusato. Two bite at his arms, while one tries to slash at his chest with sparking metal claws.
Meanwhile the jellyfish are still tangling at Vasae, and the gas is spreading - it's become totally opaque, and far more billowy, and the grumbling is getting louder.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
Vince gets up seeing the rather nasty, near death predicament the Brothers Grimm are in, and moves beside Kinkuzo, as he says.
"Okay. This has gone on far enough. We need to call in Kill J and arrest them."
He moves to send a hell butterfly, but is doing a full chant for it due to the presence of the barrier.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
In the surveillance room, Kinkuzo tilts his head to look at Vince, paradoxically watching himself watch the Grims on the screen.
"Oh, don't be boring, Captain. I doubt the freakshow will slow them down for that long - they haven't even released to Bankai yet."
A quick swivel turns Kinkuzo to properly face Vince.
"I'd have thought you wanted to get a few shots in yourself - Kusato humiliated you at the execution grounds, after all..."
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
"And those will come before ole kill joy even gets the message. Also... What's up with the gas?"
He says gesturing to the cloud in the room that is steadily building.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
"Oh, an interesting little number that started off as a collaboration between Kessen and I. He never managed to finish the biological component, but after analysing the corpses of the Kuragekin, I realised they held the key."
He turns back to the screen.
"I'm rather interested to see how it turns out."
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
Vasae simply rolls his eyes, beating the strange creatures back with relative ease, they might have been nasty creatures but they were in no way equal to even a Vice Captain level foe. He rose a hand at the billowing gas, smirking
"We can both do Kido. Idiot."
Vasae makes an incantation(since its not ever said) a massive semi-clear barrier shooting out of the ground as he shouts the final world Danku. Unless the gas eats through kido, the shield can resest damage up to the 89th kido.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
The jellyfish batted away by Vasae ripple angrily, colouring like a bruise, before collapsing to the floor, the same pink gas flowing out of their bodies like mustard gas packed into deflating balloons.
In staunch defiance of the laws of diffusion, the gas flows toward the main bulk, barely joining it before the kido barrier slams down.
The three remaining wolves continue to worry at Kusato, as one is sent flying by a spear of fused glass through its ribcage.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
"Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bares the name of Man! On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus. In the abyss of conflagration, wait at the far heavens." :Hado #63 Sōren Sōkatsui
Twin beams of energy lance out of the tips of Vasae's tonfa, blasting through the wolves.
"Can we finish this boring game up. I want to get a shower."
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
"Kch. Very well. Kch"
With that, 'Kinkuzo' throws himself against the kido barrier before exploding in a flash of green light and fire. Vasae's already ready to block, while Kusato is protected by the wolf corpse collapsed on top of him.
The kido barrier, however, flickers and darkens like a tv image with bad reception. Back in the control room, Kinkuzo grins, even as Vince begins to stretch and glance meaningfully at the door.
"Explosive robot duplicates. They're like a swiss-army knife."
Behind the damaged kido barrier, the roaring noise the gas makes becomes ever more echoey and metallic, suddenly increasing in pitch and frequency to a binary chitter as it rears backward, slamming into the wall of orange light with frankly unreasonable force. It shatters, and the gas hovers for a moment as though inspecting the two brothers, before lashing out at Vasae.

Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
Vasae yawns loudly, moving to the side and dodging the lashing gas
"Seriously. Just come down here so we can kick your teeth in and be done with it. This is the most annoying fight i've ever had."
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
In his control room, Kinkuzo sighs, looking down at a clipboard. The items labelled "Nukarites" and "Kuragekin" have been crossed through, as have "Grue", "Creepy Lights", "Barrier", "Doombot", and "That Thing /w/ The Other Thing". There are many more items to go, ranging from the fairly simple "Reishi-Minefield" and "Acid Obstacle Course" to the more evocative "DAKKA DAKKA" and "Hahahaha Laser Bears", to the bizzare, such as one indecipherable item titled "N/C RoboTent".
His voice rises and crackles in pitch oddly as he speaks - he seems even more manic than usual.
"And I had such -things- PLANNED... He's -right-, though. This is dragging on... Becoming -such- a BORE! Shall we -join- them?"
Vince's expression indicates that this could well be a good idea. The fact that he's been pushing to do so since the Grims entered the facility could have something to do with this.
"It's such a -long- way to WALK..." Kinkuzo dons his mask, concealing a manic grin. "We'll -have- to take the express ROUTE!"
A lever is pulled - the floor beneath Kinkuzo and Vince plummets downward at a terrifying speed. "-GOING DOWN-!!!"
Beneath the Brothers Grim the floor outright collapses, folding out of existence like an imploding rubix cube, and they fall to a lower floor. The smoke hovers for a moment in silence as their surprised yelps fade, chitters as though in confusion, and then drifts to follow them downward, out of sight.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
The floor below is substantially different to the featureless cuboid chamber above - it's overall shape is more akin to a warped pentagon, and the walls seem to have been blasted from the living rock, the only evidence of development being clusters of machinery of unknown purpose - a few are clearly air-conditioners, speakers and cameras, but the rest are alien to the momentarily shaken Brothers.
They've landed surprisingly softly, on a strangely bouncy mat that seems to flex far too much of its own volition - the rest of the ground is equally strange - croppings of rock, patches of strangely coloured-sand, areas criss-crossed by beams of light, and bare metal patches accompany a host of odd metal columns, cubes and half-spheres, each bearing Kinkuzo's seal.
On the opposite side of the room, a lift slams down with terrifying speed. Kinkuzo steps out excitedly, head twitching, feet clanging on the metal edges of the contraption. Vince's emergence is rather more queasy, though he rallies magnificently.
A distant, but approaching mechanical chitter from above reminds the Brothers that these aren't their only opponents.
((Just for reference - the smoke monster will mostly be attacking Kusato, to make up for the fact that Night Surgeon likely won't be posting that frequently. Its death will signal the beginning of the end))
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
Vasae wastes little time, launching himself across the floor at Kinkuzo, tonfa's ready to block.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
Kinkuzo springs away from the elevator, his zanpaktou sliding out of a compartment in his arm.
"Spark, Funkenstock."
The tesla-mace clashes with one of the tonfas, leaving the other free as lightning crackles around the two. Vasae is probably thankfully that diamond doesn't conduct electricity, but small scorch-marks are still appearing over his hands.
Meanwhile, an amaranth tendril of smoke reaches down from above to grasp at Kusato.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
Kusato looks up at the smoke monster's tendril, leaping to one side away from it and rolling to his feet.
What the...?
He backs away, experimentally sending a few shards of glass zinging the smoke monster's way as he does so.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
The smoke creature descends from the darkness with a metallic crackle, roiling and formless like stirred cloudy water. The glass shards whip through it, leaving trails in their wake as they boomerang back, but with no other apparent effect. The crackling increases in volume to a static roar, and the creature surges toward Kusato. This could be tricky.
On the ground floor, a number of the contraptions begin to shudder and activate, unfolding and opening - they range from tesla coils to nastily glowing bear-traps to something that looks like a tangle of metal vines, to two strange horseshoe-shaped devices. One section of the floor even opens up to reveal an acid pit - best to avoid that.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
The other tonfa comes screaming down on Kinkuzo, he's probably not so thankful its made out of diamond, or that Vasae is now no longer playing to just knock him around. The blow is more then driven by lethal force.
"Yer ugly."
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
"And your both criminals."
Vince says, the first notes, and chjords to this, blaring into the room, almost unbearably loud in the rather cramped space, as Vince says, his voice barely audible over the heavy notes.
Ride the lightning. Sono Griektsu Myu-Jishan."
As if on cue, several monsters of Vince's own, the lightning serpents appear, the same crooked electrical grin on their face as the last time, their eyes seemingly cut into the hot plasma as it dives towards Kusato, the magnetic presence growing stronger as it gets closer.
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
Buggeration, mutters Kusato, as an enormous dogpile of things aiming to kill him seems to form all around. Screw this. Bankai!
{{By necessity, Vasae should probably Bankai as well at this point.}}
Suddenly, the broken glass seems to multiply in number, and fill with an inner glow. And then a lot of things happen.
An enormous ball of broken glass clusters around the "smoke monster," and the broken glass all melds together to form a perfectly round glass sphere with the smoke monster suspended in the centre. The glass orb falls to the floor with a heavy clunk and rolls away, straight towards the numerous traps, aiming to either crush them beneath its vast glass mass or spring them, hopefully killing the smoke monster in the process.
Meanwhile, Vince finds himself surrounded by six enormous men made out of broken glass, each wielding long, thin, absurdly sharp glass blades, which flash and stab towards him.
And a dome of broken glass forms over Kusato to protect him from Vince's lightning serpents. We're criminals? he shouts. Whereas trapping us here and immediately trying to kill us rather than arresting us, or even asking us for a surrender, is completely legit?
-
Re: [BleachITP] Episode 26: Grudge Match: Masked Justice or Grim Revenge?
"Why bother shouting...Bankai!!!!"
Vasae's reiatsu surges as well, a large sword in his hands, faintly glowing. He grins darkly at Kinkuzo as he dashs and avoids blows as easily as if they were done by a child
"Better do better then that. Idiot. Or i'll take your other arm to. And this time, we're taking -you- to Kil-j the party pooper."
