Things you just noticed.
I think I've seen a thread like this before, but it was from months ago, and I don't want to be a necromancer, or maybe it never existed and Im crazy!
Anyways, its a very simple concept, for those of us who read through the archives a lot, we know that there are minute details we don't notice until X times through. Especially for us who haven't been here since the beginning, some of the small details are much more noticeable when its a new comic. Anyways, the point is, post things you just noticed, maybe itll help the rest of us notice them too : )
My most recent one: In comic 514, the box to Haleys right says Gouda, cause we all know hobgoblins cant resist it! :D

Re: Things you never noticed
It wasn't until my 3rd readthrough of the comic that I noticed all the little things Haley did early on that showed her interest in Elan. I can't remember anything else off the top of my head right now.

Such as this. :smalltongue:

Re: Things you never noticed
i have just notice in this strip that belkarīs skin is more red than always, like he has a tan.
perhaps its because he did not received durkonīs spell, right?
-
Re: Things you never noticed
Well, yes. That was pretty much explained as the well-deserved comeuppance... he didn't get the spell, thus he is sunburned.
I will admit that it took me a second readthrough to realize that Belkar was following through on his neck hole threat after killing the bug guys.

Re: Things you never noticed
Belkar pointing out that Blackwing "obviously" doesn't exist since the bird wasn't there when V fought that death knight. Looking back at that scene, Belkar wasn't there and has no way of knowing that V fought a death knight in the first place...

Me too, I read it for the second time and I was like, "Is he?...Oh, ewww."

Perhaps it was mentioned in a debrief. Roy seems to trying to be very meticulous in his planning.

In which case it would be unlikeky that V would have mentioned trying to use BW as a distraction, and so V only has herself to blame.

I thought that was the joke.

Re: Things you never noticed
I don't think I noticed until relatively recently that the vial of poison in #435 strip has Mr. Yuk on it.
-
Re: Things you never noticed
I would post a lot of details I didn't noticed... except I don't know what they are cause I never noticed them

Re: Things you never noticed
I posted recently (on another thread) that it took me X number* of read-throughs before I realized that there was wordplay going on between the names of the opposites Vaarsuvius and Pompey.
*where the 'X' stands for 'seXy' **
**not really

I disagree.
- We have never seen V be actively deceitful except w/regard to the
deal with the IPCC, which is a pretty special case.
- When V tried to sacrifice Blackwing, it seemed to be a reasonable tactic; as V later admitted, V was not very caring about Backwing's POV.
- At the time of the debriefing, V is going through a major reform effort; admitting previous questionable conduct would be consistent with that.
- MOST IMPORTANTLY: V is famously prolix; getting V *not* to give a complete debrief could be explained only by a lack of time.
Bottom line: I don't think this was an overlook.

While V is not in the running for most deceitful, she is not above putting the needed spin on statements, as with 41 and 323. So assuming he confessed to using Blackwing as a diversion, while not impossible, is a stretch.

Probably not, at least in the sense that he would like to go back to correct it. Which puts us back to saying there is something very strange about Blackwing, which has affected everybody's memory of him.

Re: Things you never noticed
Going back through the archive I noticed for the first time a bit of foreshadowing in #338 (V's comment in panel 8).

Neither do I - I think it's both fully intended and a very good subtle joke.

Re: Things you never noticed
I missed almost all of what the roaches were saying around Xykon until I re-read the strip. That's one of those things that can be picked up the second or third time through without meaning you missed anything crucial and still add to the humor. :roach:

I realized I missed almost all the roach conversations when i got the books and started reading them.:smallsigh:

Re: Things you never noticed
It took me more than 7 rereads for me to realize a goblin was saying, "Get it off! Get it off!" in this strip.

Re: Things you never noticed
Just noticed a second ago:
Grubbwiggler's assistant http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0575.html

Ah, I guess I could have put the answer in a spoiler. I just wanted people to have the fun of working out the anagram for themselves.

Re: Things you never noticed
heres something you may or may not have noticed which i thought worthy of being pointed out, back when Hayley was arguing with her alter-egos from diffrent phases of her life a version of hayley turns up with short hair in her adventuring gear. later on hayley had her hair cut, could this have a third link to time travel or some kind of spell that makes her dive back into her own mind? and to see what hayleys mind would be like would be insaine if you want my views.
thanks guys, don't be affraid to check it out.

It was the part of Haley that wanted the comic to go back to being funny. I am 99 percent sure it has nothing to do with time travel or diving back into her mind. Most likely Rich liked the way that style looked on Haley.
