Happy, in her repaired body and mind, blinks and looks around. Her player thinks that Melody is here, but isn't entirely sure.
"If he isn't your employer, why do you follow his orders?" Anshu asks.
Requiem furrows her eyebrows in (mock?) confusion. Then, she laughs it off.
"Who said he gave me any orders?" She certainly didn't say that, as far as I recall. "We're just friends. We met each other not too long ago." That's not a lie, either, in case you're wondering.
Requiem watches the hologram, and says, ""Wow, that's pretty neat. Although, I think it would be safe to say that you misinterpreted."
Then, to back up her position even more, she gives an example. She points at Meidani. "For example, she could tell you to go swimming in the lake." Requiem stops pointing now. "Whether you do it or not doesn't make it a command."
"But why are we arguing over words, anyway? I came here to see if I could help."
[Front]
"I'm not meaning to argue. Only to get a sense of who and what we may be allying ourselves with."
[Lakeside]
Nimai is adding a pair of crude human figures next to the lake. One of them is recognizable as her father, mainly due to his hat, and the other has short pink hair.
{Front}
"Yeah, I know." Requiem shrugs. "You're just being cautious. If I had people who detested me for what I am, I would be cautious, too. It's understandable."
[Front]
"So you say this 'Gordon' can find the monks for us?"
[Front]
"Yes, he can," says Requiem, nodding in the affirmative.
"Although he's fairly clumsy and gets lost easily, he's good with tech." Well, tech that you don't drive around. He crashed a UFO once.
Salvation walks up next to Anshu. There's a person who we found... he was at the village. He might want to help take them out himself. I'm going to go and look for him, all right?
[Front]
Anshu nods to the Alchemical, then turns back to Requiem. "Is there anything else that he's offering?"
The Alchemical moves out!
Front
"Not that I know of," says Requiem. "He could have something else, if it comes up. I could easily keep in contact with him, in case you don't trust him." She smirks at that comment.
[Lakeside]
For once Crodelus is outside, sitting near the shore of the lake. He notices Nimai and the other painters, and gives a halfhearted wave in their direction, but focuses mostly on the lake. Hiba is lying down next to him, apparently asleep.
[Lakeside]
Jamie waves cheerfully back before resuming painting. Or trying to, anyway.
She really should be wearing a smock...

[In front of the main building]
Shrike listens, quietly, having nothing to add at the moment.

Quinn looks up as Happy rises, and smiles weakly.
"Welcome back."
...she then pitches forwards to fall flat on her face as she passes out.
[Infirmary]
Happy ignores Quinn (:smallfrown:) to go and hug Melody tightly.
Fortunately Nurse Piper is more attentive and comes in to check on her.
[Infirmary]
Quinn is exhausted, it seems. And dehydrated.
She keeps forgetting she, y'know, needs to eat? And drink. And can't indefinitly keep trying to help people without doing so.
[Infirmary]
It's official. Quinn is too stupid to live. :smalltongue:
She gets an IV inserted, and will get the Very Stern Voice if she tries to get out of bed before Nurse Piper is ready to discharge her.
(BR, you know I love Quinn and just enjoy giving you a hard time about her, right? :smallwink:)
{Infirmary}
M- momma? Momma!! Melody hugs Happy back.
But just as quickly pulls away. Wait. How can I be sure you're you? She says frowning.
[Infirmary]
Quinn's date with the Very Stern Voice might be put off a bit, as she needs sleep, too! And gets it for awhile. :smalltongue:
((Of course! And I enjoy playing her that way. :smallwink:))
[Lakeside]
Jamie, meanwhile, steps back and admires her masterpiece!
...Picasso would be proud. :smalltongue:
[Infirmary]
Instead of answering, Happy pulls her close and sings their song.
{Infirmary}
Melody resists at first. Oh so convincing. But how can she.... Momma! Melody hugs Happy tightly once again. I love you, Momma. I'm sorry for being mad at you. I'm soooo sorry. She lays her head against Happy's shoulder. Never leave again, Momma. Pleeease.
[Infirmary]
"You're allowed to be mad at me, baby," Happy says, stroking her hair. "That would never make me leave you."
[Front]
As the nuke goes off over Inside, Anshu is understandably distracted. "I am afraid that this conversation - and the monks - will have to wait. It seems the Empire needs some assistance."
Anshu turns on his heel and goes back into the campground to find Caros.
{Infirmary}
Where's Quinn? I have to thank her for bringing you back to me. Melody gets up, prepared to go hunting for the death-defying Paladin.
[Infirmary]
Quinn: "ZZZZZZZZZZ; zzzzzzz. ZZZZZZZZZZZ; zzzzzzz..."

[Front Area]
Thankfully GLoG is far enough away and the hills such that flash blindness isn't an issue.
Shrike still gapes in the direction of the rising fireball, though.
"...what the heck was that?"
Caros is currently tinkering with-
is that a WARSTRIDER? :smalleek:
Hey, Anshu.
Found this thing a while ago. Made for a female Solar, the swan design is interesting...
not sure who, though.
Front
Requiem nods - it's alright.
However, she's wishing she was back in the city. You can't steal people's souls in the middle of nowhere, or they might notice. Back in the city, the din, the confusion...it's a cinch.
[Infirmary]
"I'm not sure..." Happy says. But they soon find Quinn in her hospital bed attached to I.V.s.
"Dr Quinn is not fit for visitors," Nurse Piper says.
