Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Kirby
There aren't as many vehicles on the road as there was when you first came here. The city is dying, people just don't know it yet.
You land on the top of a police car, that is driving out of sacred oaks. The military still have it sealed off.

Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Nicodemus
Well, it seemed stable enough. Nicodemus reaches out to Anduriel.
What other preparations need to be made before we can begin the ritual?
Jenny
"Being dead for ten years tends to keep one out of current events." Jenny frowns.
"Got any ciggies?"
Midnighter
"You get up here!" The Midnighter waves the fellow antihero up.
"I've got a whole district of criminals to get rid of! Squadron Collective F*ckwits, finish the kneecapped men off. We've got more targets to neutralize."

Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sylar
Sylar stares at the ball, his own voice ringing in his head alongside the screams, but neither matter. The ball, his map, are all that matters. He stares at the thing in his hand as it shrinks. It's beautiful. It's everything he was....he was something, wasn't he? He had been powerful. Important. He shakes his head. All of the noise was getting louder, but it didn't matter. Clarity was in this ball. Something important. The Alpah and Omega. What was it!?
Light
Kira submits and allows Misa to win her 'game,' as his mind shifts to other topics; the potentially 'bugs' in this room being rather prominent. Why would the terrorist need them, if they were there? He couldn't bring it to the authorities. He'd be shot, and Kira could argue it was forged. He wouldn't gain any information from it that could be used; their view had shifted. Regardless they should shift hotels tomorrow, just to be sure. Although, 'They' was something that needed to be figured out. Hartigan was loyal, but the question was, how loyal? Nothing they'd done had truly broken his principals yet. They'd killed scum. How would he react if his fellow officers came for them? Could he kill them with the same ease? Would he? He was to valuable to sacrifice, and would be for a long time. Light had his name and face, not to mention Misa. All the pieces were falling into place.

Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sylar
Those around Sylar see the ball continue to destabalize. The room starts to warp, as though perspective has been messed up, with odd bulges and curves.
Sylar doesn't notice. In a flash, he begins to see faces. A cheerleader. A
Nicodemus
Anduriel, not at all concerned by the unstable magics begins to answer. A sacrifice. Wizard's sand (the powdered bones of a magician). That is all.
Midnighter
The two stop running. A figure is standing at then end of the alley. Without even thinking about what you are doing, you find yourself putting the guns down.
Jenny
"I quit smoking long ago. I've lived longer as a concequence. You'd best remember you are not immortal anymore."
Light Yagami
You drift of to sleep at long last, thoughts and plots jumping around in your subconcious.

Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Ghost Rider
Blaze climbs the barricade trusting his brother to follow. "Midnighter, Daniel Keitch my brother. Daniel, Midnighter. With introductions out of the way what's the plan?"
***
Kirby
Kirby rides the cop car for now. Until he gets close enough to float somewhere interesting.
***
The Bride
"We're going to die anyways. Might as well go out with a bang." The Bride sighs as she leads Travis off the main streets and into the back alleys away from the soon to arrive police.
"You have a phone right?"
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
((what about Sam?))
Midnighter
He focuses his enhanced vision on the figure, and curses as he recognizes who it is.
"Ghost Rider! I need backup! Now!"
Nicodemus
We can get a sacrifice off the street. And as we are the bare minimum required to complete the ritual...we will need to find one. Preferably of lesser talent.
"Do you know if Wallenquist had any other pet magicians?"
Jenny
"I've smoked for eighty-three years. I doubt I'll be quitting, even if I tried."
Jenny is getting itchy. This was one of the longest times she had gone without a ciggie. She didn't even take any of the Doctors...other smokable substances when she saw him.
"So. What's an orphanage doing blackmailing a CEO like Veidt?"
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Ghost Rider
Two ghost riders stand beside Midnighter now. Blaze finds himself quite confused as to what has got Midnighter so freaked out. "What's going on?"
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sylar
As he sees the faces, Sylar hears something over the screams. Something primal, basic. It's a familar something, like a lost friend. It's angry, but more importantly, it's hungry. It's a split moment, but for Sylar, it's almost an evil Zen, where he sees all he was and is, but like the clarity before it, the zen passes. The hunger however, remains. He can feel a yearning, a yearning to...feed? Yes. Feed.

((I'm giving the guy who plays predator one more day, at which point I'll move on without him.))
Jenny
"We are finding the truth. That is what we do." He replies. Another absolutely correct and completely uninformative answer. This guy is good at evasion. "And what is your interest in this?"
Midnighter and Ghost Rider
The man is walking forwad, seeming totally at ease. You recognize him as a Cullen. The Father.
Nicodemus
"Once. I decided their power would be more useful in the hands of the deserving." Well that explains it. He didn't seem like a wizard, because he is not. He takes power from other gifted by way of sacrificing them.
The Bride
You still have his from last time you called Bill, snuggly in your pocket.
Sylar
The ball finally vanishes. In that moment, all the light in Sacred Oaks goes out. Everything. Artificial lighting, fires, torches, candles. All the light is stollen.
Kirby
You feel the lights vanish, although it doesn't change your eyesight. The car screeches to a halt, and both of them get out, staring around franticly.
Then they see you.

Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sylar
Hunger. A simple word for a simple need. However, man's first instict was to fufill this need. He needed to feel that hunger fufilled. Where could he eat. He looks over to Nicodemus; something was inside him. He was sure of that...but the voices were still too loud. He couldn't think well enought to fight him, Sylar lifts his voice, temporarily holding that same confidence he had before the explosion, "I need to feed and grow. Soon. It's been too long."
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
The Bride
"We got a lot of ground to cover looking for Alice and not much time so we'll have to split up." The Bride gives Travis back his phone.
"If I don't call you in half an hour assume I am dead or captured, call Bill telling him what happened and try to get back to the states."
***
Ghost Rider
"Carlise Cullen, you have no idea how much of a relief it is to finally be able to break your head over my knee." Blaze growls sending forth his chain to ensare the vampire.
***
Kirby
"Officers, a pleasure to meet you. Now you can try figuring out what the talking pink ball with a mouth full of blood stained sharp teeth is doing on top of your car or you can take said Pink ball's assuarances that if you head to the Steel foundary now you will find something that will make your careers and give you a chance at some real power." Kirby hops off of the car's roof ignoring the stunned faces of the police men.

Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Jenny
"We are finding the truth. That is what we do." He replies. Another absolutely correct and completely uninformative answer. This guy is good at evasion. "And what is your interest in this?"
"Sounds like Planetary. But you don't seem Elijah's type. Too sane."
Jenny's hand twitches.
"And I'm here on behalf of an old lover. Well, he's younger than me, at least. Plus, I've got an interest in stopping the Terrorist. And keeping the world safe. Remember my epitaph? Bugger this, I want a better world?"
Nicodemus
"Once. I decided their power would be more useful in the hands of the deserving." Well that explains it. He didn't seem like a wizard, because he is not. He takes power from other gifted by way of sacrificing them.
"You will, Sylar. Soon." Nicodemus ponders his ally's revelation.
"Do you have any souvenirs?"
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sylar
He can hear over the voices. It's no where near perfect, their screams are still their, louder when he accesses his powers, but he can see. Where once stood a blind man, now he could see. Move. Kill,"I won't wait much longer. This entire 'alliance' has caused me more trouble than it's worth. If we don't actually see results soon...well we seem to meet so many interesting people on this journey, and some of them might start disappearing."
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Nicodemus
The immortal man stares Sylar in the face. Something in his expression makes Sylar recoil.
"Patience is a virtue, Sylar. It does you no good to gorge yourself at the buffet if you have not taken a seat at the table. After the ritual, you will be free to do as you like. Ask your Fallen for assistance if you feel yourself struggling."
I am happy to serve however I can, my host a voice whispers from within.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Nicodemus and Sylar
He tosses you a bag. It is indeed filled with pinkish powder, and smells terrible in a metalic way. He smiles then. "There should be enough. I regret I've already used the rest. Shall we?"
He ignores Sylar. Big mistake.
Jenny
"Our interest is in truth, and justice." He replies.
Ghost Rider
He blinks. He looks confused, and stops walking. "Who are you?" He asks, seeming surprised. He blinks again, then shakes his head. "I prefer not to allow things to degenerate into fisticuffs, he says, leaning out of the way of the chain. "So crude. So... inconclusive. Such a waste."
Kirby
One of them points his gun at you. The other gets back in the car and is totally still, his lip trembling. Ah, that one must remember your earlier rampage, before Carlisle caught you. His partner shouts at him, but he ignores it.
The Bride
You head back the way you came. After five minutes walk, it seems you have traveled a lot further then you thought. Perhaps you should try to catch a lift.
Sam
The door opens, and three figures step in. One is tiny, blond, and severe faced, looking abou ten, the others are huge and look deadly.
She nods as she sees you. "That is what we were looking for. Well done Afton." She tosses Alice a pendant, who catches it. "I'm sorry Sam." She whispers, then leaves through the front door.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sylar
Despite the recoil, Sylar stands firm, "And working with you has gotten me a joyride to nowhere. Maybe it's the screaming that's, by the way, your fault, but I don't think you've once mention how this ritual would help either I or Kirby. You've given us these coins, and I don't know about him, but all I've gotten is an alterante form that maybe restores me to what I was before I decided to work with you. I have patience, but not for a dead end." Sylar looks at the bag, and attempts to yank it away with his weakened Telekinises, focusing everything on it, ignoring everything else in the room.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sylar
The bag spills at it's seams, pilling the whiteish powwder everywhere, catching in the cracks and crevices of the floor.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sylar
Sylar looks down at the spilled bag, "Pity; that looked useful." He looks up at Nicodemus with a grin that he's given so many evolutionary stepping stones, a grin that screams, 'I'm back..'
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Kirby
"Would you please put that away. If you know of my previous hunts then you are aware that your weapon cannot kill me. Frankly I have neither the time nor the appetite to be eating either of you. It is very important I get to the foundary. I will ask you once more, please drive me there."
***
Ghost Rider
"All the unholy danger you supposedly represent and you have never heard of the Ghost Rider?" Blaze is slightly skeptical but he jerks the chain towards the vampire's feet regardless.
***
The Bride
The continues to canvas the streets on foot. It is too risky to give the Volutri any more witnesses to track her by then she has to. In addition to searching for Alice she also scans the storefronts for any internet cafe's.

Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Johnny Blaze
"Unholy? Unholy? You really do not understand me. I am a part of God's creation, same as you. I am a man who finds himself unable to cope with the majesty of what I see around me, who always strives to learn the truth of the world. God speaks to me, and has given me a purpose. Put those away."
You find yourself doing it, before you can even try to resist. You brother pumps his shotgun and aims, but finds himself lowering it as well.
Kirby
His eyes squeaze shut, and he pulls the trigger.
The other policeman is trembling, waiting for you to get into the car.
The Bride
You see no sign of Alice. Her future sight must make hiding easy. You do, on the other hand, find an electronic store, that advertises internet.
Sylar
Xaltoan doesn't act. He doesn't seem to care who wins.

Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
V
I lean against a stack of bricks, as I watch events unfold. The vampire is not something I planned on, but neither is it a threat to me. Midnighter is. Either way, I would be best to let things continue.
So why do I have this urge to intervene? The work of a decade, the agony of a nation, the burdens I have taken up...
No. I cannot afford to be human. For now, I just watch.
Ozymandius
He picks up the phone. "Jenny? I have it. I know how we can fix this."
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Nicodemus
"Big mistake, Sylar."
Around Nicodemus, the shadows once more writhe and boil. And because of the serial killer's prior destruction of the artificial light, the majority of the room creaks and wavers as the shadows that cover the space obey Nicodemus's commands.
"Do as you are told."
The Midnighter
The Midnighter rolls through every iteneration of the fight, and the results are...disappointing. Sort of. Distraction and retreat seemed to work best.
"We have to get out of here. Now."
Jenny Sparks
"Brilliant words, mate. Wonderful ideas and absolutely fabulous concepts. But that isn't the world at large, is it? We've got problems, major ones, and truth and justice only gets you so far. It wasn't justice when the Authority removed the entire Italian peninsula from Sliding Albion(ooc: Alternate dimension). But we saved billions from destruction and more from lives of absolute sodding hell. Brilliant words, mate. Not so good in practice."
Jenny picks up the phone.
"Ozzy. What in the name of all the sodding ciggies I haven't had yet do you mean?"
Sam
He doesn't struggle. He just stares once more into Alice's eyes.
"I am going to get free. I am going to find you. And I am going to send you to hell, where your father can't find you. But mine can."
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sylar
"No." Sylar smiles as he points his hands at Nicodemus, summoning the freezing power, willing him to freeze. The voices may weaken his connection, and he can no longer use two powers or more at once like he could before, but if the man's body was physical, he should freeze.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Nicodemus
It works...sort of. Nicodemus begins to partially freeze, but the room is filled with shadows, and one of them snakes towards Sylar, wrapping around his legs. The shadow burns, burns with a cold fire, and his concentration is broken.
Nicodemus calmly shatters the thin layer of ice that had enveloped him.
"I have survived for millenia, boy. Men and women who spoke with angels and communed with the Divine directly lie dead at my feet. Who are you to believe that you can do better?"
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sam
"No your not." She replies, with certainty, and thenn she steps out, and is gone.
Afton pushes you roughly towards them. "Here he is. Hard to deal with, and a bloody misery to be around, but what Aro asked for."
Jenny Sparks
"A man's only obligations are those he sets himself. I have set mine, and they are what I shall live by."
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sylar
"Sylar; your evolutionary superior." As the shadow holds him, Sylar contacts the demonic, 'assistant,'
'Any suggestions?'
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Ozymandius
"I believe I have finally figured out what the terrorist intends. And I know how we can fix it."
Anderson
A barrage of bayonets hit the vampire, evenly distributed to make it impossible to avoid. A massive, behamoth of a man, light reflecting off his glasses hiding his eyes and making him seem vaguely inhuman, his cross all but glowing, Paladin Alexander Anderson strides forwad. "Ah've bin lookin' fer ye." He growls. "Ye're the bastard who did tha' ta yin bairns. Ah have nae forgotten."
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sylar
His weakness is his arrogance. He thinks you are weaker then him, and so will assume that to be the case. He'll underestimate you at every opportunity.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Nicodemus
The shadows constrict, sending Sylar reeling to the ground.
"Hardly, boy." From his trenchcoat, Nicodemus pulls out a Mauser C96, and lets it drift down towards Sylar's kneecaps. Lazily, he pulls the trigger. As an afterthought, he pulls it again.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sylar
Sylar shifts into his 'alternate form' so that the gunfire will hopefully do reduced damage and attempts to rip the shadows away with the Telekinises.
