Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
Chion will thoroughly scribe the past days accounts from when he left his father's court till now.
Father,
I am sorry to have to be the one that tells this tale to you, but swiftly the horse goes without a rider. There is evil walking the land, we have been battling the forces of the Maho. The was a giant plant creature two samurai high and four abreast which fell beneath our flashing steel and resolute jade. Then discharged from the belly came the walking dead, which were returned to their lifeless states in rest permanent.
Prepare father as there is not telling how far the darkness has crept into the land of the unicorn. It could be in the town again before anyone notices again.
Your loyal and devoted second son,
Itou Chion
Chion will finish the letter musing over what words he did use with his father and why didn't he tell his father or the shame he suffered at the court at the hands of Lord Bayushi. Well perhaps another day.

Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
((Darn, almost forgot about the thing.))
Vrishma takes out a brush and ink from his robe and gives them to Chion. Here you go, Chion, I say. Let me see how your wound is faring, if I may.
As he turns to cast an invocation to call on the spirits, he notices a few dark lines where there were none. Healer, I ask, who shall heal you? Make sure, I say, that no horse we need to carry it home, he says as if in jest, but his lips purse in a sad grimace as he starts to recite the incantation.
((Casts Cure moderate Wounds, cures 2d8+6=15 HP))
Unless there is anything mre he will then sit down a bit further away from the fire and meditate a bit to clear his mind. Then he will look at the mark in more detail again and try to make some sense of it ((if there's any check involved, let me know)).
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
((This is quite unlike anything you've ever heard of, so I really don't know what kind of check would be involved. Knowledge Shadowlands or Taint perhaps. I will have all those marked make Fortitude saves. It'll come in to play when you all wake up, heh))
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
((Hmm, only got knowledge Spirits properly boosted... I guess that's the problem of cross-fertilizing oriental settings. Oh well, it's still fun.))
Fort. Save: 9
Crap on a stick. I need to get some mojo for rerolling.

Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
(Good thing Samurai have high Fort saves... pity I have Con 10 though...
[roll0])
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
(why do I get the feeling Masumi is going to have a very bad morning?)
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
((I wouldn't be surprised if some have it worse, though. Now, I do hope it's a fort save to resist a minor cold, or because the boar wasn't well enough cooked, but I have the feeling some of us may be in for a worse night that that.))
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
(Well, Masumi ate more than most of you and she was out in the snow, and no one's asking her to fort save... :P)
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
((The fort save is for the special tattos you survivors are sporting as me and Masumi do not have to make saves... Hmm I wonder what fort governs ?? Poisons, diseases...))
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
((Ikeira was involved from the beginning, yes?))

Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)

Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
Ikeira
(sorry been out job interviewing all day)
[roll0]
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
(...A very bad morning indeed.)
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
((Oh, the horrible doesn't start in yet, just wait, hehe))
During the night, in sleep, all those marked have very bad dreams. Horrible nightmares. Upon waking, you don't remember any specifics other than you had bad dreams. Vrishma and Ikeira, whichever arm is marked is extremely sore. There is almsot a burning sensation. If you look at the markings, you see them progress upwards on your arm a little bit (like half an inch). The two of you ((Vrishma and Ikeira)) feel very nauseous and won't really get your appetite back until lunch time.
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
((C.o.a.S.))
Vrishma has an uneasy sleep and often thrashes around. At some point he rolls over Shimikawa's tail and gets a swipe in return.
((I take it we can't replenish our spells, then?))
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
Masaya blinks his eyes open, and stands up. I had the most awful dreams last night, he complains to no-one in particular. He gets out his dagger and shaves, then munches on his breakfast. He notices Ikiera and Vrishma seem so sick. Are you alright? He checks his arm, but finds no change in the markings. He walks over and grasps Vrishma's furry arm, finding the marks have moved up. Blessed Kami! He stands up, and paces around, putting his mask back on. I think we need to get a move on. We obviously don't have as much time as we thought.
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
((Um, I imagine Vrishma might want to object to you man handling him so, but I can't speak for him, hehe Vrishma, if you would like to contest that, we'll need some sort of roll to start things off))
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
((Also, despite troubled sleep, you can prepare spells))
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
ikeira
(hmm is identify a wujen spell i didnt see it on the list you gave me)
Ikeira studies as usual in the morning smopking on his pipe, adding identify if its available to him in the second level slot that just opened up and terra cotta warrior in the third level slot.
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
(Identify is a 1st level Wu Jen spell)
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
Masumi
Unlike the others, masumi had a good night's sleep; she was dead tired after monster slaying and scouting though snow so in a complete turnaround she seems unusualy pleasant as she gets ready this morn. She seems to note the displeasure or illness of others and says as much.
"Bayushi-san, while I'm all for moving, are you alright? You and some of the others seem... indisposed. ...I'm not sure what i could find out in the snow but maybe a good breakfast would help..."
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
I'm fine, but Ikiera and Vrishma don't seem well. We should get going, they need to walk it off.
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
((Oh, I don't mind, and neither is he, but I thought that good, uninterrupted sleep is necessary to prepare spells later. Wait a moment... Yep, Vrishma says thank you. Oh, and he wants to have some words with me.))
Vrishma finally manages to get a little sleep late in the night, and wakes up a little after the others. He wakes up with a gasp, and spends a few moments trying to get his wits together before rising. Better I have been, I have, he says with a wan smile to Masaya, but then follows the Scorpion's gaze to his arm and winces in trouble. But I will need some to clean the path, I do. He sighs and motions Shimikawa to follow him as he goes to the riverside to meditate.

Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
ikeira
after his studies he looks a little ill at the thought of food and instead casts identify(six objects at level 6 i think) and try to identify the magic items brought to him last night, and if he has enough uses left he will attempt to identify his tattoos as well
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
(..Would Masumi or Chion notice any of the weird tatoo'd commerades or is this all being done away from them?)
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
(Masaya isn't really trying to hide what he's doing)
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
Chion
Chion will arise from his bedroll and prepare to break camp. When he is finished then he will start his morning routine. Chion will watch the proceedings while focusing on the slow weapon weapons forms he does in the morning. He is so focused that no emotion shows on his features while practicing even as his follows his group's movements.

Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
Masumi
The ronin-ko seems to take some interest in Masaya, Vrishma and Ikeira's tatoos should she see two or more of them with arms bared, though this is shown for the most part in that she watches Masaya more than the other two while undoing her plaited hair and trying to get out the brambles and twigs and whatever else she got in it from the scouting mission, using melting snow to 'wash' it in the process.

Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
Vrishma
The Vanara sits near the river a bit longer than what was required for his ritual, but he seems to have other things on his mind, too. He looks at the mark for a while, then into the nothingness as his mind wanders. Eventually, he rises and sighs, patting Shimikawa on the back and mournfully saying something to her in his native language.
He goes back to the camp and looks for Chion. Chion, have you the little note written, I ask?
((Cyrus, would a tiny animal be able to carry 1 sheet of paper?))
-
Re: Oriental Adventures (Restart)
Chion
"Here Vrishma here is the missive for my father." Chion will produce the parchmant and hand it to the shamen.
