Probably wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened...
And it doesn't count as arson if nothing useful was burnt! :smalltongue:
And they can always blame a prankster kid who was smart enough not to leave fingerprints. :smallyuk:

And to destroy the security tapes.

Re: [BitP:R] BleachitP: Reborn: OOC Thread 11
What security tapes? There's a power outage, remember?
...Oh right... I suppose it doesn't work either way then.

Err, security cameras would probably be on batteries. Also, I really hope that the fire alarms will work without power. Seriously, what kind of school would that be!? My school of 400 people (pre-k through 12th grade. That's 14 years of students that total ~400.) has emergency lights even.
-
Re: [BitP:R] BleachitP: Reborn: OOC Thread 11
I would think emergency lights, Exit Signs, the fire alarm, and the sprinkler system would all work on battery power.
Unless Angry Janitor sent out an EMP or something.
Also, Kuroi...where the heck is Hasunaga? I mean, Kaito's just around the corner from the nurse's office. I doubt it was that loud.

I suppose you have a point, though to be frank, I don't think security cameras are school standard issue, even in Japan. Keep in mind that's the place where every school is supposed to keep a number of standards imposed by the Ministry of Education, and those tend to be fairly high.
Plus, the existance of security cameras in a school totally invalidates Hasunaga's earlier comment about hall monitors! :smalltongue:
EDIT: As for Hasunaga's position, I DID post he was headed from the roof to the classroom as he considered his options. I'm not sure how far the Nurse's office is supposed to be from his class, but I'm fairly sure a noise like a metal locker being ripped out of the wall and then crashing against the ground would be loud enough to spread for at least one of the hallways.

Well....how successful do you want to be? I suppose I could volunteer one of my MW characters...if you're willing to not necessarily succeed.
1. I just didn't know what the purpose of the organization itself was, not the power-set. The power-set was fine and interesting, but the organization itself didn't seem to have much to add to the game as an organization.
2. I don't care how successful Armin is. I just want to spook someone, really. I mean, I imagine there are several targets against which if Armin went full-power, they'd just have no chance but to run away. But Armin isn't that sort of character. He's more likely to attempt to threaten someone but escape rather than let them know he was ever trying to attack them.
Edit: Also, some filling in on some things I missed may or may not be nice.

Again, my school also has cameras. Oddly enough.

As I'm not Zarah, I can't fully answer. In part, I think its purpose, in part, was to represent an organized effort by mortals to combat Hollows that existed in times past. As well, it allowed for something more formalized than "random mortal powers" that still wasn't "Quincy".
Also, time-travel.
And maybe "because". *Shrugs*

Well. I mean, Kaito's folks are both successful law enforcement people. I figure there's people out there who would want them dead. It's just that I don't want to turn Kaito into Batman. Or even Tyler. I'd be okay with temporary injury, but I'd rather avoid killing 1 or both parents (or Kaito, obviously), or even having them severely crippled or some such.

Installed before or after Columbine?
My point is, I don't know for sure, and I feel like security cameras are kind of an overblown feature for school grounds, but that's probably just me.

Looong after. We're no where near where Columbine was either. They installed the cameras outside first, because people were leaving school without permission. Then the ones on the inside were installed like 2 years ago... I dunno why. Probably because of my class:smallamused:. Our entire class of 42 was sent to the office during lunch once.

My entire grade (89 people) got in trouble with The Head once. I think that wins :smalltongue:

Class meant grade. Sadly we were the largest grade in the entire school. The principal had to come outside and tell us to stop playing tackle football during lunch. Our school has no football team or any equipment:smalltongue:.
I ended up tackled headfirst into a brick wall:smallfrown:.

Her Doll is basically a normal cat on its own, albeit one with a comically large head. No real powers.
I'm justifying this on "She's only half-Bount".

...Still. I mean, it's kind of like Bount Bankai. I guess that means Ayase's "upper limit" is lower than some.
Also...a catgirl? Really?:smallsigh:

See, the reasons of "because" and "time-travel" don't jive for me. You could do either of those things without an entirely new Faction. I mean, I feel like if a formalized effort by mortals to combat Hollows needed to exist...the Shinigami suck at doing their job, and are themselves relatively purposeless. If that's not the case, then since part of the Shinigami's job is to prevent the mortals from knowing about Hollows by eradicating them, besides the fact that most Humans are not spiritually-sensitive...yeah, this doesn't make any sense.
Allowing for more formalized than "random Mortal powers" is fine, but I feel like there should be some reason to their existence. That's all.

Well, unless his folks are also spiritually sensitive, I find it unlikely that Armin would want to assassinate them and attempt to take their Spirit Energy. I mean, that's just a waste of his time and skills, unless whoever is paying him is giving him a pretty nice compensation. So if you can come up with someone like that, then Armin might make a shot.
Also, he wouldn't kill them if you didn't want. Maybe graze them with a shot or put them in danger, but probably not injure them more than, say, rescuing someone from a fire might.

Beyond that, you should be able to read the thread and catch up. We've maybe moved 2 pages. It's really not a Herculean task.

So...
What happens when Kaito, Valeria, and Nakahiro reach the nurse's office? The nurse is not a PC, so someone needs to control them.

I'm kind of wanting to wait until Callos and/or Kasanip can respond as well, since they're both in the office as well.

I will control the nurse. Guess one of my characters will be making a cameo. :smalltongue:

Well, I say this because "faction overload" happened last game, and in order to reduce said overload, not having so many factions seems like an awesome idea. So, to support the idea of them being a real faction, I feel like they need to have something that they do that makes them special and doesn't overlap with everyone else. Since they're Mortals, power-set really isn't the thing, and I didn't see what the other reason was.
I don't deny that they were or might have been interesting. But I don't think they brought anything to the table besides that. Honestly, if you wanted just to roleplay something like that, we're on a forum full of roleplaying. If it doesn't add to the story at hand, perhaps it will add to another story better is my opinion.
-
Re: [BitP:R] BleachitP: Reborn: OOC Thread 11
Technically the issue wasn't Faction Overload.
The issue is that the Olympians hogged the spotlight, and their subplot was entirely unfeasible for the scenario. They tried to get too big and caused much clutter.
Made al the worse because then the Olympian players all started to lose internet access and what was left was... Kind of a train wreck that took months to get dealt with.
-
Re: [BitP:R] BleachitP: Reborn: OOC Thread 11
Okay then.
But still, the same applies, in a way. Did they add something truly significant to the plot of the story?
