Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
Hello. I would like to apologize for my absence. I have had a lot a things going on lately, including my hot water heater dying.
I do plan on getting back on track with this, but it might not be until next week at the earliest.
Again, very sorry about dropping off like that.

I want to join the challenge
-
Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
Awesome  What are you creating, and where can I find it?
-
Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
Well if I am understanding this correctly, I need 8 drawings by Sunday, I'm basically using this is motivation for me to draw
-
Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
You just need 6.
And that is the best use of the Challenge! :smallwink:
-
Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
We shall see if I get back into the game next week. Most of my focus is going to be on editing, which is hard to apply to the Challenge, but I may have something.

Eyyyyyyyy... Lil Shiro here! New name 'course
I've been looking to get back into The Challenge. Still have the link in my sig as advertisement, never took it out.:small wink:
I dropped at last time because 6 poems a week feels like you aren't actually being inspired anymore. But maybe if I make it one a day, it will be more evenly spread out. All new poetry will be at the link in my sig as opposed to the thread I used to use.

Random and answer-related stuff:
@KerfuffleMach2: Shame you fell behind again. But happy birthday!
@Viera Champion: Welcome back! I suppose you start again next week? And yay for advertising - you earn extra brownie points for that :smallwink:
@Zjoot: I'm sorry if I miscounted - Tumblr is not very generous with precise dates. Let me know if you uploaded more than it seems.
My Week of Hell ended with a bad cold, so that went about as bad as it could with spillover into this week. But I'm visiting my parents over Easter, and I finally got rid of my second job, so I'll have a lot of free time the next few weeks. Let's get creatin'! *cracks fingers*

Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
Nope. Nothing last week. I was putting all my creative energy into worldbuilding for a campaign setting. I just went on spring break though, so I should have more stuff done this week.
-
Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
Yeah, starting next week. I have college visits this week, so I'm busy.
Also, when you say brownie points, can I cash them in for actual brownies?
-
Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
Oops, forgot to post a theme earlier. It's now Coming home.
-
Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
WOOT! That comes right in line with the second half of the story I'm writing. It also is kind of about LEAVING home. So best of both worlds it would seem.

Name: Magus
Gender: Unknown
Age: Unknown
World of origin: Unknown. (While believed to be Hunterkin, individuals matching that species have been reported in so many worlds that it is theorized their universe is unstable or they have developed some form of rudimentary dimensional travel, which has rendered tracking their origin difficult.)
While all members of the team appear to have a minor level of magical capability, Magus is, as the name would suggest, the dedicated magician of the group, at least so far as can be told. Current knowledge suggests they are capable of using a wide variety of magical forms, several extremely versatile in their own right. A minimum of a Level 3 containment team is suggested for attempts to capture her when alone; attempting to do so when she is accompanied by her allies would be a waste of manpower compared to more practical methods.
Analysis indicates that the symbol between her horns is some sort of binding. Whether or not that binding is on her, and who put it into place, are currently unknown. Due to this lack of information, it is not recommended to attempt to damage it at this point in time.

Name: Slaughter
Gender: Female
Age: Unknown
World of origin: Unknown (See file: Magus)
Slaughter is a close quarters specialist, especially proficient with a large double-sided spear and a silent but quite powerful pistol, of unknown make. She is also adept at harvesting and channeling death-energy, having a seemingly endless supply of it to draw on. Her spear is especially useful for this task, being, by all reports, strongly death-aligned, though little more has been learned about it. Her tattoos are also used for such purposes, the patterns serving as foci for her magic. Attempting to damage the spear is recommended to only be undertaken with several mages at least as skillful as she is, and in a shielded location. Her tattoos, however, should be safe to destroy so long as she is not using them as conduits at the time.
It is recommended that attempts to neutralize her be conducted at long-range with high caliber weaponry. Capture is likely to be ineffective, due to her possession of an artifact known to enhance her already considerable abilities, and the presence of at least one other member of her team whenever she is not in possession of it.

"It's only forever - not long at all," Lellienth sang quietly as she sat on the bed, softly accompanying herself on a harp she'd picked up on the way here, having left her dragon-harp in Erin's room, along with a note gifting it to her, when she left.
"After all, she'll die long before you anyway," her sister, who was sitting next to her, said coolly.
"And she has friends. She'll get over it soon enough. She's even expecting it - she told you she's cursed, remember?"
"No-one can blame you, for walking away..."
"No, they can't... This was never your place to begin with," Llolfaen agreed, reaching out to gently stroke the scars on Lellienth's face, tone softening as she did.
"The one person you had a shot at helping hated you but was too weak to say it, and ran as soon as she could...
Erin might care, but she's the only one, and even she doesn't love you enough to let you go."
The music shatters, dissolving into a welter of independent notes as Lellienth's hands slip, though soon enough, another tune starts, this time with Llolfaen singing...
"Heavy the burdens a lone figure bears
Young in her yearnings and old in her cares.
She thinks that she's happy; she laughs and she sings
But under her cloak a tear stings.
Crumbling friendships and well-meaning lies
People brush past her with unseeing eyes
The veil of illusion like spiderweb clings
Under her cloak a tear stings.
Cruel is the world that she is caught in,
Dreaming, her webs she has forgotten,
Heartsick as any mortal going,
Lost here, she looks on me unknowing.
Cloaked in the dark her aloneness I chart
She thinks she is mortal and might win a heart;
But keeping her blinded, the thought disgust brings
Under her cloak a tear stings.
Under the stars alone I find her
Gazing on heaven, I remind her
Suddenly bursting to astound me
Webs like a beating heart around me...
Closing my eyes as she knows she's alone;
I needn't look up, I know well hope has flown.
Her heart and dreams shed like the leaves the wind flings
Under her cloak a tear stings.
Creature of night myself I knew her;
I too have webs and must console her.
Her love a bright and clinging tether
Tighter than any leash of leather--
Remember when last a smile broke past her hood,
Weeping, know that was the last time she could.
Love and compassion are bitter cruel things
Under her cloak a tear stings."

Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
Hey guys! I'm really sorry, but I just got home from a big family visit, and it's 1 a.m. with school waiting tomorrow, so I'm gonna postpone the status for a day. Really sorry about that, but I'll get it done as soon as possible tomorrow

So I gave you a link to my poems, but there's a separate place for my stories.
Here.

Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
:smallsigh:
I'm sorry. You can probably just drop me from the list entirely, for the time being. We'll see if that changes, but with all I am up to, and with my next big step in creativity a word-limited one (editing) you probably should just assume I'm out.
...until I make some kind of dramatic triumphant return, of course.
-
Re: The CHALLENGE continues!
I'm gonna be out as well, simply because I'm taking a little hiatus from uploading my stuff. I want to focus a little more on quality and a little less on quantity, so I'm taking off anything that pressures me to write a certain amount.
On another note, I would like to beg one more time for another contestant for Iron Poet. We've been waiting to start with just one more person needed for some time now. Even if you're not into poetry, you have to start somewhere, right? :smallwink:

Also, sorry I got your name wrong in the update. I'm fixing it :)

That makes sense. Good luck in the Iron Poet in the meantime! (I'd enter, but I really need to focus on other creative outlets right now)

This new link is only showing poetry? I don't actually have any stories up yet, so that might be the problem. :p
Got my name wrong? Where?
