Names? Change? Why not just have them be in Russian letters while your at it.:smallannoyed::smalltongue: I Joke, itsa joke.

Name changes are just fine, it means we can make jokes about butchered translations. :smalltongue:
And, uhm... I kind of haven't really commented on this comic, have I?
Well, I will anyway!
You, Sir, are great and make a great comic.
If my computer stops hating OpenCanvas, expect eventual fanart even! If that's okay, I mean.
Someone else posting is a good time to say "I and this comic are not dead." :smalltongue:
Sigh, designing new monsters/enemies takes the most time. Designing bosses takes longer.
And regardless of the "proper" translation, I've always preferred Aeris.
I like the new signature.
Wait, he's the hero? Awww...:smallfrown: Colette isnt the hero, Lloyd is. :smallfurious::smalltongue: (I totally agree with his point though. That's why I loved playing as Zelos. Also, Zelos is awesome.:smalltongue:)
I originally meant for Ben to be the character representing the player character, like Lloyd, but in the end, I just made of them the protagonist and the other the deuteragonist. Who is who is up to YOOOOOOOUUUU. :smalltongue:
But yeah, both Ben and Aria are the heroes. My sigs are supposed to represent a dimension where characters act like how they are supposed to in the comic, while saying things that break more of the 4th wall than I would like in my comic. So that's where all my comments of that sort go.
Many thanks.
New old fanart from Kasanip up in the first post. Really awesome and my first, hopefully not last drawing from her.
And now coloured :smalltongue:
Finding this thread was a great birthday present! I think I might try to go back and finally finish Vesperia while I wait for updates.
I'm still hearing the warmup boss battle music when I read this strip, and then theres a treasure chest and the music stops.:smalltongue::smallannoyed: When do they fight the stereotypical first dungeon-forest boss?
Next. Which I am kinda taking from Tales of the Abyss, because I really enjoyed that battle.
But still, it's in my style. So no worries. I'll try to get it out this weekend, so something to look forward to.
Doubleposted to say that comic is up in the sky.
Also I'm adding a new spoiler section in the first post that both gives a recap of the story for new people who haven't read the rest of the comics yet, and serves as the characters' journal.
I'd also like to remind people that stuff will happen off-screen in this comic. If it's important, I will show it. Minor things like level-ups, learning the occasional new random arte, or acquiring x number of Gels are small compared to a plot development or interactions between characters.
So don't be so surprised in a comic in the future where everyone suddenly has new artes. :smalltongue:
Yaaaay!! new comic!
but how can we climb atop a barrier made of fallen trees?
impssible!
[/sarcasem]
As long as you don't skip a boss battle where you dont know what the fancyshamncy spin on it should be, I'm fine with offpanel action. :smallwink:
Eww, liger speaks english. Make it speak ligerese. And then have its mother come as the final boss.
Would it make you feel better if it was telepathically projected in a booming voice without the liger having to open his mouth as you can see in the comic?
Thus the limitations of comic as opposed to an actual video game. :smallsigh:
Or an oddly-coloured word bubble with no arrow.
I prefer Ligerese with subtitles. I like subtitles.
I haven't been on GITP for a while now. o__O;;
There, got a fixed version up. Used Tales of the Abyss as an example of what telepathic speech is supposed to look like. Floating white text, pretty much. Is it too hard to read?
Also updated the Story Thus Far section.
Poor contrast with the sky. If I read it is because I already know what's written.
I suggest a black glow*. Also, typo in "yourselves". :smalltongue:
*Black text of the same size underneath and blurred by a pixel or two usually works.
Hm. Either a thicker glow, or something like this:
Prime's idea looks good. I'd do that.
Ah. I had never thought of that, but I have seen it been done, so now I can pull off what I originally wanted and have the subtitles at the bottom of the panel. Thank you, Prime.
Please hold.
Fixed. Much better.
Read the comic and I love it so far. By the way... the city in the last panel of the first strip bears a striking resemblance to Zaphias from Tales of Vesperia. That, along with the rest of your comic, proves that you have excellent taste. Its great to see a webcomic done in the style of the Tales series, while webcomics based on other JRPGs, such as Final Fantasy and Pokemon, are relatively easy to find in comparison. Looking forward to seeing what comes next.
...I'm feeling a bit nostalgic. Perhaps its time I dusted off my copy of Symphonia...
Yeah, I haven't been playing Vesperia, I'm just past that bug forest dungeon after you get Raven and meet Alexei, because I want to savor the experience. And yeah, the blastia rings around the city were what I going for specifically.
I thought it would be pretty original on this forum anyway, to have a webcomic about JRPGs instead of WRPGs, and I've always considered the Tales of series to be the secretly popular rival of the Final Fantasy series.
But yeah, good to have another Tales of person (you've proven you're not just a fan) among my readers.
Actually, I don't have that many Tales games, (just Symphonia, Vesperia, and Dawn of the New World), as I live in Australia, which gets even worse export treatment in regards to Tales games than Europe. I was looking forward to getting Tales of the Abyss on a 3DS, but it wasn't released in Australia, even though both Europe and America did get it. I could import a European copy, since I'm pretty sure Europe and Australia both belong in the PAL community, but even so I've left it rather late to do that, and it would still pretty difficult all the same. Ditto for Tales of Graces F.
So yeah, while I do enjoy the Tales series, Namco's issues with exporting its games makes it difficult to be a fan of the series. Still, the games that I get access to are good, and that's what matters.
