There were no screenshots of people using Pokedolls in-game?
Once again, this comic will act as an introduction for new players to the Tales series and its mechanics.

I believe it isn't a coincidence it just happened at the edge of the forest.

Sadly it's extremely hard to get one.
Nearest thing to one I managed to get.

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
I've noticed an unexpected side-effect of me promoting this comic. When I scroll up in a thread I tend to mistake my oldest post for one of Teutonic Knight's or Mr Saturn's.

There is a checkmark underneath every post to prevent your signature from showing.

Almost done, but just to let you guys know, from here on out I have senior year of high school to deal with. Expect slower/infrequent releases. Don't give up on me now though. :smalltongue:

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
Just started reading and must say that I am impressed. The art is simple, clean and does not distract one from the story at all. As for the story itself, I'm a sucker for any story that involves a (possibly) corrupt church, hiding royalty and a strong female lead. It also fondly reminds of the video games I played in my youth......Subscribing to thread now.
I look forward to your future updates.

Thanks for this. I didn't plan on having a female lead, but it kind stuck after in every version of my thinking she appears before the guy, so if would be weird if I introduced a secondary protagonist before the lead protagonist, especially in something like a JRPG.

What gave you that impression? :smalltongue: Reading that reminded me that we are full of "win".
Also expect a comic maybe tomorrow, I just have to add dialogue. Once I get into a regular rhythm again, I'll be able to get more done.
Also also I feel like making a custom banner for myself, so that at least the variety increases a bit.

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
Reminds me that I have been mispronouncing nguyen most of the time. Pronouncing Vietnamese names puts me in the same shoe as American people trying to speak Chinese. (Oh, the dreaded, "can you repeat your name again?")
I don't know if you should spend time sometimes to draw mini-filler comics that are just one-panel long or something, or if you should just spend all your time making quality comics like you have been so far.

Yay! I get to see a Tales update for the first time!!! I'm so excited!

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
New comic linked by request of Tsofu.
You lazy people. :smalltongue:
Finalizing character designs. Aria's status page will come out soon. I've decided to just use high-detail OotS figures.
-
Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
You, sir, are a god. Believe it or not, I think that this will have a better story than OoTS
-
Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
You lazy people can get to the exact same place the link takes you by clicking the banner in his sig.

*Continues being lazy*
This way I don't need to scroll down or up which is a definite improvement. :smallcool:
...although what I meant was a link like this, direct-linking to the image in your album.
Btw, why did you decide against using your full-body sketches in the status page - was it to keep a cleaner look?
Will they be released as extra-material later on for the connoisseurs?
-
Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
Ah, the "run" feature. I never found a need to use it, I always grind in the post-tutorial area. They tend to give alot of xp.

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
*Rustle* *Rustle*
IT'S THE PRINCE! AND THEY FIGHT! :smallwink:
Everyone knows that that the forest is more dangerous than the open fields. Let's just hope that the liger is not like the legendary dogs of Pokemon that move from route to route.
Yeah, completely unlikely. Maybe in a hundred strips we'll bring our good friend back.

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
I found this about five minutes ago and fell in love with it at first sight.

Yeah something like that. I wanted to keep in-game stuff in-game, so since the comic is in OotS, the status pages that you would normally view in-game should be similar to the in-game character models. Plus something I remembered just now, an example: Luke as drawn full-bodied by Kosuke Fujishima, and his orignal in-game status image.
Yes I will be releasing the full bodied art, but it probably won't be colored unless someone wants to try, and will be full of mistakes because I never took an art class that showed me how to draw people.

I have the awesomest memories of Symphonia. Ah, being young and playing it with 3 of my brothers was awesome. Lloyd swore too much though.

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
Hmmmm.... This isn't dead is it? Would be a shame to have just found it now if that's the case.
-
Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
Heck no. -Engineer
I'm still here. School prevents me from working much, and weekends have been busy so far because I've always had to been somewhere away from home on Saturdays. I've got stuff planned out though while I was unable to draw, so unlike before, the actual comic making should go faster because I know what I'm doing.

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
So I clicked on the banner in Mutant Sheep's signature, started reading, and have really enjoyed what you've done. I loved the Tales references!
