Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
We regularly had game nights at the pub. Not as distracting as one might think.
That "two" seems like an anticlimax. It should've been something like a 00 at least.
I wonder how they're going to handle the aftermath.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Wikipedia says that originally it was an elephant and does not mention a ship.
Fun fact, in most Germanic language it's a messenger or runner, in French they are jesters, in Romanian they are madmen, in Slovak they are archers...

Yeah, we cal them Läufer/Runners. I guess church didn't protest too much here or something?
Uff... game session in a pub? No way... we have trouble staying focused when there is nothing else going on... Well, we used to. My gaming group is on an hold right now...:smallfrown: I suffer from withdrawal but I guess it's for the better.

Are you kidding? A pub is the BEST place to play a game! I mean, you dont even have to role play at the start, just walk up to the bartender and ask if he has any quests for you to do! Just be careful, I hear the residents of rl pubs tend to be higher level than average inside D&D.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
We did have one session in the park! Distractions were not worse than normally. Probably less, because the dm had only the absolutely neccessary books with him.

Hmm, fireworks. Interesting. Well, once they die down, then people will get what just happened.

My guess is Annie doesn't understand what happened until Palpatine rebuilds her as a Cyborg, and when she suddenly realizes it, it prompts the "NOOOOOOOO"

The prosthetics visible on Vader in RotJ weren't necessarily the same ones he was fitted with at the end of RotS. There's quite a few EU stories where Vader gets into a tough spot and needs some replacement parts afterward...

Also, just because he had the prosthetics doesnt mean he needed them. Wasnt the emperor intentionally weakening anakin when he put him in that suit? With all the injuries he had, how would anakin even notice an unneeded addition or two to keep him in pain and weaker than he had to be.

I love Ben. He's so sensible in the throes of (roleplayed) emotion, it's adorable.

Nope, still no real drama. The entire mood got shattered by the dice roll and off screen hijinks. Meh, ah well.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Last words... That'd be something. I need to have a character die one of these days. Slain by an evil house cat. Wait, that is a redundant statement. Slain by a house cat!
So... that's how they dies? Because Anakin wants to suffer hellish pain before he dies? AND take Padme down with him? And his unborn children? Ouch.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
No. He knows someone will come to fix him.

Isnt padme supposed to be dead? Thats what I gathered from the whole, "i turn a little bluer" comment jim made earlier. Even if she was only not breathing, considering how long the duel went on for, and how long it would take obi wan to get back to padme, she would be dead by then anyways.

Implying Jim didn't take the local equivalent of Diehard. On all of his characters, including the noncombatant Senator.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
I think Anakin and Padme will both be treated as dead. Luke / Leia's births and Darth Vader's identity as Anakin will then be featured in the OT as semi-retcon "flashbacks".
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Dunno, since Jim hasn't gone into any kind of rage over Padme dying I assumed she was still alive and possible to save her, one way or another. Also, why else would he complain about her being left behind?
I'm not sure how ANni will react to Ben denying her dying wish but... yeah, Padme seems rather clearly to be alive though dying. I guess it will be some 'you or your kids' choice Jim has to make and he will do, what Anni taught/expects him to for the sake of... you know. Booty:P

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Darth Vader is Darth Maul and Chancelor Zod Valorum mixed into one being. Obviously. He is no father!
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
No, Darth Vader is Padme. "Luke, I am your mother!"

rofl. I can see it happening too. Actually, I see jim playing leia. After all, he has developed a taste for diplomatic power, and admit it, you can just SEE how jim would handle the first meeting between her and vader. Vader goes into his speech about rebel action and stealing plans.
Jim: I roll for initiative!"
DM: "Wait, what? You have no weapons!"
Jim: "Oh, ok then, I try for diplomacy."
DM: "Ok, roll"
/rolls a 1
DM:" Ouch, critical failure, here is what you say to him"
Leia: "Ah, lord vader, I thought I recognized your stench." (or whatever the actual line is)

And when they blow up that planet:
"Aw, come on! You guys are gonna get so much XP, it's not fair!"

Not if you're evil. Otherwise villains would be level -10.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Oh, and before that we're all lead to believe it's Anakin in the suit.
"Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your mother."
"He told me enough. He told me you went insane from the power of the Dark Side and created an elaborate scheme for ultimate power, destroying anyone in your path. He told me you killed her."
"No. I am your mother."
"Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!"

Hmm, good point, then in that case, there is obviously an exp penalty, as the challenge rating was way too low. I mean, obliterating a planet full of npcs in one shot? Thats like having a level 20 wizard take on a quest to clear the rats out of an old mans basement. No challenge, so no real exp boost.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
I wonder if this is another ploy by Annie. If Anakin knows Palpy is on his way or has a way of reaching him, Anakin can play up the whole "He tore off my limbs and left me to die beside a pit of lava" thing to get sympathy and cement the whole "Jedi are heartless bastards" thing.

They'd have to cut out the scene in RotJ where he takes Vader's mask off, then.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Not really. Helmetless Vader looks nothing like Anakin.

You can still see it's a male, though.
But I don't think they'll make that big a change either... It's possibly but I don't find it very likely. I like the idea of Annie just tricking Obi-Wan though. Maybe the NOOOOOOOOOO might even be a YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES because... well, she is the second in command in ruling he galaxy. Even though a cyborg, kind of. The sudden wish for redemption comes kind of out of nowhere.
