Also, oh hey, look. The Jawas can talk. At least, we can understand them when they talk.
Hu, you're right... Thieves, perfect meatshields. Well, one time use only but whatever.

Foreshadowing? Maybe he's fed up with R2 and creates a new character? A min-maxxed character? A character perfected for battle? With only one flaw, he can't speak, because speaking is useless?

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
For a moment I thought the GM was trying to railroad them, but then it turned out I was right.:smalltongue:

No, he's going to make a Rodian, who just now making his first break into bounty hunting; and he's going to be kind of torn about the whole bounty hunting thing, so he's not going to shoot first ...

I thought Jim was making Greedo?

There was no post here. You're imagining it.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
So now we have an entire new group of kids brought in to play? This could be interesting.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
So far it's only 1 new player. Though if he keeps up the verbal leet-speak, he'll get really annoying.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Yeah... but I guess it is kind of interesting to have a new player again who's not as familiar with everything as the rest. And teach him how awesome pen&paper is.
Also, 100 bucks say he plays Luke.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
He's related to Pete, my money is on Chewie.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
He's new to the game, though. The GM might stick him with Luke. On the other hand, Pete might encourage Corey to make his own character... which will take just enough time before the Cantina scene.
Yeah... my money's on Chewie, too.
Btw, this is very likely to just be a coincidence, but no less surreal for me. ("o_o)

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
You know, based on the amount of screentime Luke and R2 have together in the movies, having Pete's nephew play Luke does sort of make sense.
Nothing like being the hero, trying to blow up the death star with your Uncle desperately keeping your X-Wing from falling apart (and giving it +5 to your pilot skill for locking down those stabilizers.)
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
That's my guess too...Spoiler
Show
Corey is now Luke, while Jim will be Uncle Owen. After trying to warn the players away from Old Ben (for whatever off-table reason), Corey and Pete will leave to get Pete's dreadnaught.
Jim gets killed once again, and finally settles on Han Solo (his type of character), and stays alive until the end of the game.

Problem is Jim already said he was working on a character named Greedo. That reference was really way too obvious to not get followed up on, so his character won't come in for a bit.
I do agree that Corey's character will likely be Luke, simply due to the timing of his arrival. The next scene is coming in with Luke being introduced and Corey as a new arrival they probably want to get used to the game right away. There are alternatives, but I don't think they're as likely.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Random comment. In a Phineas and Ferb episode, The Chronicles of Meap, P&F fix Meap's spaceship after knocking him to earth. Later, they get captured by Meap's enemy, Mitch, while test-flying it, and Mitch takes off into the sky. These lines then happen.
Phineas: "We're heading towards that cloud."
Ferb: "That's no cloud. That's a space station."

The Greedo thing could just be a throwaway joke, and a reference to Jim's characters dying only moments after we meet them.

It could be, but my money's on him actually making Greedo, and after getting killed taking over Han.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
My guess: Spoiler
Show
Han gets written as an obviously evil space pirate. Corey ends up liking him because he thinks he's a badass, and Ben goes along for the ride. DM sends in Jim-as-Greedo to take out Han before things get out of hand; he also gives Jim some notes on Han in the futile hope that Jim will read them and properly act like a bounty hunter assigned to take Han down. Naturally, the dice roll horribly, and Greedo dies ignominously. Meanwhile, Jim actually has read the notes, and he's starting to like this guy...
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
This will be interesting. I hope Corey will be as interesting as the rest of the cast.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Oh come on, Corey doesn't know the setting. Him being told the famous words would make sense since he didn't know about. He doesn't know about the force either. Luke and Yoda (Corey and Sally) have quite some time to spent together in the second movie. (For... whatever off-screen reason... no shipping two kids because they are kids, but kids arguing or something and Sally mocking him for being weaker or something)
I don't know what will be up with Han and Greedo and Jim, bu Corey is Luke, I'd even raise my wager.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Yeah I agree with Kato. Just as a large part of the movies is Luke growing from a naive kid into the hero we know, Corry starts as naive to the idea of Tabletop, then becomes the hero.
Spoiler
Show
Also, I think Jim will be Greedo, die and take over Han (This also allows for a second Jim and Annie romance. After Ben returns and dies (I'm nto sure what happened to him) he returns and becomes Chewie after Obi-one dies.

Whatever canon turns out to be, it can't be cooler than this.

Yes! Jim's random interpretations of various Star Wars terms is back!

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
I feel insulted by today's comments... of course players are geniuses. Just yesterday I managed to nearly kill my character without any enemy influence just by setting my cloak on fire and getting severely burned... What, that's not genius?
But anyway, what is Jim referring to?

I was thinking some type of samosa that's common in Indonesian food, since 'jawa food' in google shows up plenty of Indonesian food links.
