Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Mr. Scruffy is also in the background of #606.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
From 723:
Tarquin: No one is killing anyone. I gave my word, old friend.
Malak: Bah! I should have known you would go warm-blooded on this one!
Nice foreshadowing for what happens when Malak and Tarquin DO encounter Nale.

Shojo's hair is gray in the flashback.

I never noticed before that the shaman's attire reflected the Island the Orcs worshiped and lived on. the two holes in the mountain on his hat and the three reefs on his... Gown? cloak? thing?

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Whoa. You just blew my mind.
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Well, that's the reason why the orcs started worshiping Banjo in the first place, wasn't it?
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I think the orcs started worshipping Banjo because his garb matched Shaman Vurkle's. But I never made the connection that Vurkle's outfit represented the land. Good catch!

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Panel 6
I never noticed Durkon's face going blue because of the AIRTIGHT plastic shell before. :smallamused:

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Nah, I think the outfit came from the puppet. Notice how the shaman begins removing his costume upon finding a new deity to worship.

Pretty sure he was removing it cause it no longer matched, now he'd have to dye it. I'm willing to bet that wasn't a new costume though.
Anyway, the REAL reason I came to this thread was to point out how I just noticed what Redcloak really meant in panel 5 of page 653.
...Kind of a date-rapey sentence when combined with who he's saying it to.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Haley is using two different types of arrow, one of each alchemical metal type, (based off of the continuing colour theme) here.
Looks like she still hadn't/hasn't peeked that look at the monstrous manual yet.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I just realized the title of Strip 684 V Was Only Waiting for This Moment to Arise is a reference to another Beatles song, Blackbird. It's not a bad song but I tend to overlook it for some reason.

You mean, Blackwing, because he's a black bird?

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I just noticed that Rich bent the right border of See Spot Spot to fit in one of the goblin ninja's sword.

Similarly, I never made the connection between them trading the RED and ORANGE dyes to the orcs (who now worship a "god" dressed in RED and ORANGE) until you mentioned that.

It fits in there well, but no. That's just how the borders were up until 100 or so. Go back a page, and you'll see that the border is the same way.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Huh. Well, that's something I never noticed. It pulls back far enough that you can see the edge of the background, even.
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Plus, if you look at strips 4 and 5 you can see that Rich had no problem with things (parts of the ogres, in that case) overlapping the border anyway!
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Going back to check, that border template was replaced on strip #102, and I'm certain that wasn't the last time it happened.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I just noticed that Belkar Bitterleaf has les then 6 months to live.
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Oh, a lot less than that by now. Down to seven weeks here. I forget what the consensus is on how long it's been since then.

And based on today's strip, Belkar is down two more days...
Also, I never notices this before:
Elan's cape's stripe is completely in the wrong place!

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
#852 Roy says that he is going to prove that the person they are fighting is not Thog, but when he pulls the helmet off the person is wearing a mask, however Roy still proves that it isn't Thog.
First because the skin between the eyes is the wrong color to be Thog, and secondly the way this person speaks after his helmet is removed proves that he/she is not Thog.
So Roy did what he said that he was going to do, even if he didn't do what he wanted to do (reveal the real ID of the fighter).
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Also that's the second time Tarquin was wearing a helmet, both times it came off as part of a dramatic reveal.
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
3rd really. When Roy and Belkar realized he looked liked Elan that was kinda dramatic from them.

Eh? He posted that twelve days ago. :smallconfused:

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Elan's scar is noticeable in the printed version of #302. I don't know if it's my monitors or if it just wasn't added until the book, but I can't see it in the online version.
