Dallas-Dakota! Potpourri!
Yes, please!
Well well well ... potpourri ... Always detested that stuff.
But it's a great place to stick things that don't fit anywhere else.
The 13-issue comic book limited series, Batman: The Long Halloween, tells the story of a mysterious killer named Holiday, who murders people on holidays, one each month. Working with District Attorney Harvey Dent and Lieutenant James Gordon, Batman races against the calendar as he tries to discover who Holiday is before he claims his next victim each month.
Spoiler box for a major plot point of the series
SpoilerHowever, near the end of the series run, a pivotal figure reveals there were two holiday killers. The following question is about the 'second' holiday killer
Who was the holiday killer?
Wait, I don't want to know! I haven't read it yet! :smalleek:
*ducks out of thread*
My Batman knowledge is very sketchy, luckily a good friend of mine on here was a avid Batman fan and introduced me to errr totally-legally online copies, sadly I don't have these anymore but I remember the plotline well enough to know that almost every non-recurring characters die..Except Hilda Dent, and since I know it was not a recurring villain, my voice goes towards Hilda Dent.
Disagree because I don't trust DD.
Feeling the love
billtodamax chooses to doubt the cthulkie monster. The host nods slightly, his gaunt blue skin flaking a bit along his jaw as a single finger comes down on the hidden panel in front of him. In a sepulchural voice he intones, "To avoid spoiling matters, the clarification to the answer shall be hidden in a spoiler in spoiler.
Spoiler
BWUA HA HA HA HA!!; the sound of the Count of Sesame Street's laughter echoes along with a crash of thunder.
Spoiler
You were correct to disagree, as the answer was in fact Gilda Dent.
billtodamax gets the square.

Hmmm.. *blinks slowly, peering at the contestants*
Sorry - zoned out for a moment, thinking about Candy.
Deathslayer
In order to lure his prey into striking range, the ghost with the most used a particular type of candy as bait. What was it?
Ahhhh! Good movie. Anyway.... this is really an easy question if you know what it is referring to. Which is beetlejuice! And the candy he used. Very old movie now. So most of the candies we have now don't apply (like Hersey's or anything like that), but some of the older candies did survive.
He used an Abba-Zaba in the movie to lure his prey.
Against my better judgment, I'm agreeing.
A haze of blue particles falls downward as your host turns his neck to the left. In a sepulchural tone he state "One should trust one's better judgement. It is one's better judgement after all. Unless one's best judgement tells you not to trust your merely better judgement.
A bony finger descends to press one of the buttons behind the desk. A crackling of lightning races across the board, burning a mark into Deathslayer7's cubicle ...
SpoilerBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT!!
As the lightning fades away, having burned a crooked B into the square, the host smiles - a horrid wasted thing. "The correct answer was, in fact, a Zagnut; which he used to lure a fly close enough to snare. And in fact, once having done so, he then discarded the Zagnut entirely."
A long pause.
"But fortunately for you, answering wrong cannot give your opponent the game."

Almost reptilian eyes blink slowly.
"Mmmm. Yes, yes yes ... an intriguing conundrum.
Appropriate for our resident demon lord to answer a question about his cross-planar rivals - the devils. Yes. Yes indeed.
Four down. This member of the Hells hierarchy rules thefourthfifth layer, yet is cruelly trapped in an eternal prison he cannot free himself from. Identify this arch-field.
EDIT: Both my question and Mangosta's answer should reference the fifth layer, not the forth. This was my error.
*eyes glowing red* Ah, yes. We have always had superior forces, but our former masters never understood the value of intelligence. When I rise up to take the Abyss, the Blood War will end.
But you wish me to share information that I have gathered on the enemy. The ruler of the Fifth Circle? He who was imprisoned in an eternal glacier for murdering the consort of his liege, Asmodeous? He who wishes to turn daughter against father? He who plots to betray the baatezu and join my forces when the final battle comes? We speak, of course, of the archdevil Mammon. Little does he know that he will not long survive the battle - I cannot trust a traitor, and examples must be made.
A haze of blue particles falls downward as your host turns his neck to the left. In a sepulchural tone he state "A demon states the sun rises in the east. Do you disagree?"
A bony finger descends to press one of the buttons behind the desk.
SpoilerEnter freely, but leave some of the happiness you bring.
"The correct answer was, in fact Levistus."
A long pause.

The Count and Ghosts and other things insubstantial
That works - my Abyssal Charms allow for a number of fun interactions with the ghosties. :smallamused:
Slow blinking eyes slowly focus on something in front of him. A dry tearing sound.
"Ahhh ... yes .. how our disembodied friends do get along.
So ... Count. Let us go back ... four and twenty years. Ghosts were more ... popular ... then.
While most ghosts are lucky if they get a name relating to how they died or their primary manifestation, one at least had a long, distinguished pedigree, counting among its many titles the Sorrow of Moldavia. What was this incorporeal noble's full name?
Ohh, yes, I remember this movie! Ghostbusters II really wasn't as strong of a sequel, though. The character you speak of was named Prince Vigo von Homburg Deutschendorf, and he was voiced by Max von Sydow, who was dubbed in over Wilhelm von Homburg's performance.
I mean, the movie's starting premise... nah, I'll save this discussion for a later time - you have my answer.
I can't help but feel I'll regret this, but I agree. Also, sorry I took so long to respond.
A bony finger descends to press one of the buttons behind the desk.
SpoilerListen to them. Children of the night. What music they make.
"You were wise this time to trust your instinct. Prince Vigo von Homburg Deutschendorf was in fact the full title of the spectre more commonly known as Vigo the Carpathian, “Scourge of Carpathia” and “the Sorrow of Moldavia”, who, on a mountain of skulls and in a castle of pain, sat on a throne of blood."
"And with that ... Stopwatch is on the board..."

Cristo and Lady? I didn't realize that their family was a subject for horror movies...
Mmmm, yes. There is no safer town for Remnants than Balamb.
But enough of semi-immortal killers.
In the tale originally known as Dark Moon Rising, Mordokai the Redeemer was bringing another man to face trial.
Who was this man?
Soooo ... prior hostess ... how long do I give a square to produce an answer?
